Lately, rapid increase of household debt and economic change has affected cash flow of household, insolvent risk has increased by high repayment burden of the principal and interest. Previous researches was progressing various discussion, composed objective repayment burden index about household debt. But it was relatively insufficient about perception of consumer. This research compare and analysis determinants of subjective repayment burden in household debt by income quintile, using 2016 Household Financial Welfare Survey. The research result is follows. The income 1 and 2 quartile groups have the higher monthly rent and credit card loan and the housing preparation loan ratio, the higher burden on repayment of the principal and interest. The Income 3 and 4 quartile groups have the higher 60s or older and member of household and real estate mortgage loan, the higher burden on repayment of the principal and interest. The Income 5 quartile group has the higher loan ratio for debt repayment preparation, the higher burden on repayment of the principal and interest.
The aim of this study lies in answering the question "How to form weighting cells to enhance sample representativeness in telephone, Internet and mobile surveys\ulcorner". For this, we explored 2% raw data of Year 2000 Population and Housing Census of Korea looking for meaningful patterns for ownership of telephones, the usage of Internet and/or mobile phones. We found that telephone coverage rates vary significantly by household size; 84.6% for one member households, contrasting 98.5% for two-or-more member households. Thus, telephone survey samples need to be weighted differently in sub-groups by household size for proportional representation of target population. Searching socio-demographic factors influencing the use of Internet by C5.0 tree models, we found that education levels and the occupation (or housing type, the automobile ownership) are two most important factors in addition to gender and age. Thus, surveyor might form weighting cells by such factors at the stage of post-stratification or set quotas, a priori, proportional to size of the cells by such factors. For mobile surveys, we approached similarly and found that education levels and the occupation (or the automobile ownership, marriage status) are two additional factors that may be used in forming weighing cells or in setting quotas for cells.
It is a common wisdom that the long-term economic development of Korea chiefly depends not only on the steady increase of the capital formation but also on the stable increase of the national saving. And also it is a widely accepted opinion that household saving plays a significant role for the smooth supply of investment funds. For the empirical analysis on the determining factors of household saving, consumption function of the household of Korea was utilized indirectly. The reason is that consumption function is regarded as a stable function whereas saving function is considered to be an unstable function of the relevant independent variables. In order to carry out the regression process of the consumption functions, data on the family income and expenditure survey and the farm household economy survey was used. The regression result could be summarized as follows : Firstly, household income and the number of the employed in the household have the negative effect in determining the consumption ratio of the Korean households. On the other hand, ages and the educational attainment of the household heads as well as the number of the household members have the positive effect. During the early part of 21st century, the consumption ratio of the Korean households is expected to be decreased because of the increasing trend of household income, and the ever increasing number of the employed member of the household based on the increasing trend of the labor force participation rate of women and the decrease of the average size of the number of household members owing to widespread nuclear family system. On the other hand, the consumption ratio of the household of Korea is expected to be increased because of the continuous increase of the average ages of the household heads caused by the population aging phenomena and improvement of the educational attainment of the household heads. But on the whole, household saving ratio is expected to be increased owing to the secular downward trend of the consumption and therefore no significant difficulties are anticipated for the smooth provision of investment resources needed to have long-term economic progress of Korea.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The relationship between food intake and nutritional status has been clearly established. Yet, there are only limited studies on food intake among family members and their nutritional status. The study examined the relationship between intra-household food distribution and coexistence of dual forms of malnutrition (DFM) in the same household. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Households with a malnourished child and overweight mother were categorized as DFM. Intra-household food distribution among family members was reported using ratios, which are a measure of individual intakes as compared to all household member intakes adjusted to RDA. RESULTS: A1,899 families were included in the study. The prevalence of DFM was 29.8% (95%CI 26.5-31.2). Children consumed lower amounts of energy (OR 1.34; 95%CI 1.06-1.69, P = 0.011), carbohydrates (OR 1.2; 95%CI1.03-1.61, P = 0.022), protein (OR 1.3; 95%CI 1.03-1.64, P = 0.026), and fat (OR 1.3; 95%CI 1.05-1.66, P = 0.016) than their mothers and other family members. In contrast, mothers consumed more carbohydrates than children and other family members (OR1.24; 95%CI 1.02-1.51, P = 0.03). CONCLUSIONS: This study is the first to report on the food distribution among family members and its relationship with occurrence of DFM in Indonesia. The results confirm the occurrence of an unequal food distribution between children and mothers, which increases risk of DFM in the household. The results also demonstrate that nutritional education at the household level is important to increase awareness of the impact of DFM.
The purpose of this study was to examine the health care expenditure of elderly single and elderly couple households whose head is more than 60 years old. The data analyzed for the study were Korean Retirement and Income Study(KRelS) conducted in 2007 by National Pension Corporation. The major finding of this study were as follows: First, the amount of health care expenditure of elderly single households was lower than that of elderly couple households. However, ratio of health care expenditure to total consumption expenditure of elderly single households was larger than that of elderly couple households. Second, the ratio of health care expenditure in consumption expenditure in this study was larger than the ratios in past analyse showed in the previous studies. Third, common factor affecting on health care expenditure of elderly single and elderly couple households was the existence of the family member with chronic disease or handicap. The health care expenditure of elderly singer households was influenced by income, gender and the ownership of national health insurance. The influence of income for elderly singer households seemed to be greater than for elderly couple households. The variables which affected health care expenditure of elderly couple households were age and housing tenure status. The amount and ratio health care expenditure were increased as the age increases. These results show that the health care expenditures for each groups varied according to socio-demographic variables and health-related behavior variables. It is suggested that there should be a discriminative health care policy for each elderly single and elderly couple households. In addition, the health care policy for the elderly households of which member has a chronic disease is certainly necessary. Especially a health care plan for the elderly single households with lower income is in need. For the elderly couple households, the priority group of health care policy would be the high age group.

Among the various statistical factors for South Korea, the population has been steadily decreased by lower birthrate. Nevertheless, the number of household is constantly increasing amid population aging and single life style. In general, residential electricity use is more the result of the number of household than the population. Therefore, residential electricity consumption is expected to be far higher for decades to come. The existing long-term load forecasting, however, do not necessarily reflect the growth of single and two-member households. In this respect, this paper proposes the long-term load forecasting for residential users considering the effect of changes of the housing type, and in the case study the changes of the residential load pattern is analyzed for accurate long-term load forecasting.
The subject of this study is capital area including Seoul and Incheon, and metropolitan area including Daejeon and Busan among urban redevelopment project district that are currently promoting urban redevelopment project. Data for analysis is implemented collected through visiting each households in project district. Resettlement decision characteristics are analyzed with considering householder's characteristic, house member's characteristic, residential space's characteristic, and area characteristic of families residing in urban redevelopment project area. Through researching characteristics and preferences of residents in project area by urban redevelopment business, improvement were found and implications were provided. Consequently, there are many factors to consider resettlement when deciding household's resettlement when deciding on household's resettlement after the redevelopment project depending on household's characteristics. So, political methods are needed to accomplish urban redevelopment project by resident's position through characteristic and preference survey of resident on project district. Therefore, the study can be utilized as basic data that considers characteristic of each households and region when establishing house policy in order to correspond to housing market that satisfies future consumer's demand.
The purpose of this study is to understand the factors that influence residents' satisfaction with their housing. Resident's satisfaction is mainly influenced by two factors - one that pertains to housing and the other as per characteristics of the individual. Housing-related factors include housing types, housing tenure types, and size of floor space. Individual-related factors include household income, size, and education level. This study shows how both factors influence residents' satisfaction. Residential satisfaction is affected by the type of housing tenure (own, chonsei and monthly rent) and housing (detached housing, apartment and multi-family housing). Residential satisfaction of home owners is greater than that of chonsei renters or monthly renters. Residential satisfaction of chonsei renters is greater than that of monthly renters. Satisfaction of apartment residents is far greater than that of detached housing residents or multi-family housing residents. There is no difference in residential satisfaction between detached housing and multi-family housing residents. As total household labor income, household member, and residential area increase, residential satisfaction increase. Residential satisfaction of countryside residents is greater than that of metropolitan residents.

Summarized results of this study that examined the characteristics of farm household in suburban areas classified by the fanning types are as follows. When it was looked into with the side of farm household and his family, the type of the farm household in suburban areas are related to the quality of fanning labor rather than the quantity of it. Regardless of the type of the farm household, it depends upon the family labor (usually men and wives). And the age of farm manager is an important part in the quality of fanning labor. The size of the farm household is related to the individual fanning labor. The size of self-sufficient crops(mainly rice) farm household will be small as the farmer gets to be old. But the size of commercial crops farm household has less tendency to change in terms with the age of farm manager. The fanning commercialism takes an important part in the maintenance and development of suburban agricultural areas. But, in fact, there is a shortage of farming labor. So the physical condition of farmland is the most important part in agricultural durability. After this study, we can conclude that we won't have enough chance to solve the problem of family member separation and shortage of fanning labor even though it is in the suburban area or in the profitable farm until we give them more enough chance to get a job(except fanning) and the better education infrastructure. To make matters worse, the aggravation of farm house-hold's economy due to unstable price of farming products' threatens the agricultural durability. Consequently, in order to get a development of agriculture and rural community, a qualitative change with improvement of agricultural conditions and of products distribution system is needed.
The purpose of this study is to suggest an optimum guide line of the unit plan design in national housing (less than $85m^2$ of exclusive floor area in a dwelling unit). The unit plan of apartment have been improved diversely for the residents, and the family members per household have been decreased for decades comparing with the past. In contrast, the living space per household has been increased steadily, it is because of the improvement of the living standard. The unit plan have been improved from 2-bay corridor access type and 2~3 and 4-bay staircase type. In december 2005, the balcony was permitted to be used as exclusive living area without the increase of the original living area by law. So the apartment residents have been able to use more spacious area exclusively in a dwelling unit. On the other hand, the legalization on permitting balcony area into a exclusive area resulted in a distorted wide and enlarged plan only for the business profit improvement lately. The living environment has been changed differently unlike at the time of the legislation of the national housing. The family member per household has been decreased and the related law and the institution has also been changed. Moreover It has passed 40 years since the legislation of national housing ($85m^2$). So, The size of national housing should be reviewed according to the current trend in terms of the decrease of household and the utilization of balcony area.
