  • Science encompasses diverse fields that cannot be unified into one. As an effort to incorporate such diversity of science into science education, this study implemented an inquiry activity on a historical science topic in a preservice teacher education course. By exploring preservice teachers' practices during the activity, the study aimed to identify the characteristics of rich narratives developed by the preservice teachers (PSTs) and key features of the process through which these narratives were developed. We collected the narratives that the PSTs developed and conducted interviews on how the narratives were developed. We invited an expert on narrative, asking for an evaluation of the narratives produced by the PSTs. We also conducted an advisory interview with the expert to inquire about the reasons for her evaluation. The interviews with the PSTs and the expert were recorded and transcribed for analysis. We qualitatively analyzed features of the highly evaluated narratives, based on the expert's evaluations, and how the development of such narratives differed from others. The analysis results revealed that the main features of the rich narratives included diversity of contents, causal combinations, specific descriptions of time and place, and the incorporation of multiple layers. Three features of the development of the rich narratives were identified: (a) the use of diverse resources, (b) adapting resources to contexts, and (c) hypothetical inference regarding the sequential order and hierarchical relationship among the various events in the narrative. This study contributes to the inclusion of the characteristics of historical sciences in science education and supports students' understanding of the diversity of science.

  • This study suggested a method of classifying the hierarchy of settlement of rural centers to select a target site for Rural Development Projects and an improvement plan to reflect the results of centrality analysis in the project. Based on the guidelines for the promotion of Rural Development Projects, evaluation items for the classification of settlements hierarchy were constructed, and an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) importance survey evaluation table was created. Since the evaluation grade interval is set differently depending on the purpose of evaluation and the evaluator, in this study, relative grade classification by statistical methods and grade classification by determining the presence or absence of evaluation factors were used as the type of grade classification of evaluation criteria. The evaluation results were derived by applying the functional index method, the modified function index method reflecting the AHP survey results, and the evaluation score reflecting the AHP weighting value and evaluation grade to the case area. As three evaluation methods, the hierarchy of settlements in the rural center of the case area were divided into four stages. The hierarchical classification by the functional index method is arranged in the order of the highest functional index, and the central class is classified by disconnection, so differences may occur depending on the evaluator. However, in the case of evaluation using evaluation scores, the hierarchy is clearly distinguished based on a total of 100, so that the difference between evaluators can be reduced, and the hierarchy distinction by Eup/Myeon in rural centers can be clearly distinguished. If the AHP hierarchy of settlement and evaluation score reflecting the evaluation grade presented in the study are used, it is easy to identify facilities that are insufficient or need to be improvement in each rural centers and establish a business plan. In the future, it is expected that it can be used in rural development practice if the scope of experts is expanded to supplement evaluation items and importance evaluation, and if the evaluation grade is set by analyzing functional facility data in Gyeongsangnam-do or rural centers of nationwide.

  • Accidents involving subcontractors at chemical plants can be caused by not only technical and managerial issues but also socio-structural problems, such as those arising from the relationship between the company and the subcontractor(s). Therefore, this study aims to analyze the causes of chemical accidents that occurred during maintenance and repair work by subcontractors at chemical plants from an holistic socio-technical systems perspective and to identify the relationships between accident causal factors. Twenty-one accidents that occurred at domestic process safety management companies during maintenance and repair work over the past five years were analyzed. AcciMap was utilized to identify causal factors at each hierarchical level, and an procedure-based analysis was conducted to examine causal factors in each work stage. As a result, it was found that chemical plant subcontractor accidents were the result of complex interactions of not only management, technical, and human factors, but also structural problems that occurred due to the characteristics of maintenance and repair work that is performed intermittently and the relationship between the company and subcontractors. Therefore, in order to prevent subcontractor accidents, it is necessary to analyze accident causes and establish countermeasures considering both social and technical aspects.

  • This study was a descriptive research study to determine the impact of psychological well-being, stress, and burnout on interpersonal relationships among medical students. In this study, medical school students from Region J in Province G were randomly selected as the approximate population, and a total of 297 copies were finally analyzed. Descriptive statistics were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression analysis using IBM SPSS/25. Interpersonal relationships were positively correlated with psychological well-being (r=.46, p<.001) and negatively correlated with burnout (r=-.27, p<.001). Variables affecting interpersonal relationships were analyzed using hierarchical multiple regression. As a result, the order of variables that had a significant impact on interpersonal relationships was psychological well-being, 'very satisfied' and 'satisfied' for life satisfaction, and 'other fields' for desired career paths. The total explanatory power was 27.9%. In the case of second-year students, psychological well-being is lowest and stress and burnout are highest, so it is necessary to find ways to reform the curriculum and conduct extracurricular activity programs to increase well-being and reduce stress and burnout.

  • This study attempts to examine the principles of landscape composition for a 'Suhwon(書院)' and the meaning and value of its traditional landscape architecture, in order to apply the results to the design of modern landscape architecture. A 'Suhwon' is a vital space containing the form and meaning of human activity. This study analyzes the characteristics of landscape composition in the construction of the Namgea Suhwon, located in Hamyang, by examining the form and meaning of its area and composition. The Namgea Suhwon was constructed with a suitable configuration and harmony in a good location, neither field nor mountain, and which encompasses transcendence and a return after passage through a period of birth and abundance. Its appearance means 'life existence and hidden death(生居死幽)'. Its spatial system is a reflection of the idea of Samshinoje(三神五帝: The three abilities of Providence and its five subjects) connected with Ilsangje -Samshin -Ohje. It was built based on the idea of Biryebudong(非禮不動) meaning that one should follow only good decorum and avoid discourtesy, complying with "the frame of decorum" developed by the family rites of Chu Hsi. The environmental design of the Namgea Suhwon was interrupted by the material confrontation between mountains and water and a binary code system, such as front to rear, length to breadth, and movement to stillness. The design did not adhere to stiff axes, but pursued the harmonic principles of asymmetric balance in the building and the yard, which are very naturalistic. The name 'Namgea Suhwon' is closely related with the view of placement(置) and harmony(和), which are unified with the function and meaning formed by connecting Sung Confucianism with the Pungsu-Sasinsa structure in the layout of the grounds. When examining the D/H ratio of the building and yard, it can be seen that the spaces of Ganghak, Yusang and Jehyang were built appropriately, according to the natural characteristics of each space, such as a sense of openness, enclosure, tension, relief, enhancement, and hierarchical order. The spaces also reflect human scale concepts that take advantage of auditory features. The transition process after the construction of 'Namgea Suhwon' reveals the intentions of the builder to create an ecological landscape composition based on Placement and Harmony. Placement embodies' a purposeful space in which nature and the building are connected naturally, 'incomplete open space pursuing completion', and 'potential beauty in which tension and relaxation are repeated'. Harmony embodies 'order and continuity having a sense of unity with the natural environment' and the 'sharing of daily life and memory'. 'Namgea Suhwon' contains many ideas for landscape planning, land use and the design of a campus environment.

  • In order to provide 8K UHD contents of terrestrial broadcasting with a large capacity, the terrestrial broadcasting system has various problems such as limited bandwidth and so on. To solve these problems, UHD contents transmission technology has been actively studied, and an 8K UHD broadcasting system using terrestrial broadcasting network and communication network has been proposed. The proposed technique is to solve the limited bandwidth problem of terrestrial broadcasting network by segmenting 8K UHD contents and transmitting them to heterogeneous networks through hierarchical separation. Through the terrestrial broadcasting network, the base layer corresponding to FHD and the additional enhancement layer data for 4K UHD are transmitted, and the additional enhancement layer data corresponding to 8K UHD is transmitted through the communication network. When 8K UHD contents are provided in such a way, user can receive up to 4K UHD broadcasting by terrestrial channels, and also can receive up to 8K UHD additional communication networks. However, in order to transmit the 4K UHD contents within the allocated bit rate of the domestic terrestrial UHD broadcasting, the compression rate is increased, so a certain level of image deterioration occurs inevitably. Due to the nature of UHD contents, video quality should be considered as a top priority over other factors, so that video quality should be guaranteed even within a limited bit rate. This requires packet scheduling of content generators in the broadcasting system. Since the multiplexer sends out the packets received from the content generator in order, it is very important to make the transmission time and the transmission rate of the process from the content generator to the multiplexer constant and accurate. Therefore, we propose a variable transmission scheduler between the content generator and the multiplexer to guarantee the image quality of a certain level of UHD contents in this paper.

  • The World Wide Web is a very large distributed digital information space. From its origins in 1991, the web has grown to encompass diverse information resources as personal home pasges, online digital libraries and virtual museums. Some estimates suggest that the web currently includes over 500 billion pages in the deep web. The ability to search and retrieve information from the web efficiently and effectively is an enabling technology for realizing its full potential. With powerful workstations and parallel processing technology, efficiency is not a bottleneck. In fact, some existing search tools sift through gigabyte.syze precompiled web indexes in a fraction of a second. But retrieval effectiveness is a different matter. Current search tools retrieve too many documents, of which only a small fraction are relevant to the user query. Furthermore, the most relevant documents do not nessarily appear at the top of the query output order. Also, current search tools can not retrieve the documents related with retrieved document from gigantic amount of documents. The most important problem for lots of current searching systems is to increase the quality of search. It means to provide related documents or decrease the number of unrelated documents as low as possible in the results of search. For this problem, CiteSeer proposed the ACI (Autonomous Citation Indexing) of the articles on the World Wide Web. A "citation index" indexes the links between articles that researchers make when they cite other articles. Citation indexes are very useful for a number of purposes, including literature search and analysis of the academic literature. For details of this work, references contained in academic articles are used to give credit to previous work in the literature and provide a link between the "citing" and "cited" articles. A citation index indexes the citations that an article makes, linking the articleswith the cited works. Citation indexes were originally designed mainly for information retrieval. The citation links allow navigating the literature in unique ways. Papers can be located independent of language, and words in thetitle, keywords or document. A citation index allows navigation backward in time (the list of cited articles) and forwardin time (which subsequent articles cite the current article?) But CiteSeer can not indexes the links between articles that researchers doesn't make. Because it indexes the links between articles that only researchers make when they cite other articles. Also, CiteSeer is not easy to scalability. Because CiteSeer can not indexes the links between articles that researchers doesn't make. All these problems make us orient for designing more effective search system. This paper shows a method that extracts subject and predicate per each sentence in documents. A document will be changed into the tabular form that extracted predicate checked value of possible subject and object. We make a hierarchical graph of a document using the table and then integrate graphs of documents. The graph of entire documents calculates the area of document as compared with integrated documents. We mark relation among the documents as compared with the area of documents. Also it proposes a method for structural integration of documents that retrieves documents from the graph. It makes that the user can find information easier. We compared the performance of the proposed approaches with lucene search engine using the formulas for ranking. As a result, the F.measure is about 60% and it is better as about 15%.
