Factors Influencing Clinical Practice Burnout in Student Nurses (간호대학생의 실습소진에 미치는 영향요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore perception of the clinical learning environment, resilience and perfectionism in relation to practice burnout and to identify factors influencing practice burnout in student nurses. Methods: A descriptive correlational study was conducted. The participants were 313 student nurses from three universities in B and U city. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, $Scheff{\acute{e}}s$ test and multiple regression analysis. Results: Mean score for practice burnout in student nurses was 2.92 out of 5 points. Practice burnout explained 44.7% of the variance in perfectionism (${\beta}=.245$, p<.001), satisfaction with college life (${\beta}=.232$, p<.001), resilience (${\beta}=-.228$, p<.001), clinical learning environment (${\beta}=-.193$, p<.001), satisfaction with major (${\beta}=.180$, p=.001), practical relationships with peers (${\beta}=.128$, p=.005), and satisfaction with clinical practice (${\beta}=.124$, p=.039). Conclusion: Research results suggest that the important variable for student nurses' practice burnout is perfectionism. Therefore education is needed to develop strategies to manage perfectionism and reduce practice burnout.

The Sugars Intake through Processed Foods and Its Related Factors in College Students (대학생의 가공식품을 통한 당류 섭취와 관련 요인)

  • Objectives: This study was performed to examine the sugars intake through processed foods and its related factors in college students. Methods: The findings of this study was based on the data obtained from the self-administered questionnaire survey of the sugars intake through processed foods. The self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted among 245 college students between March and April, 2015. Results: The amount of sugars intake through processed foods was 45.9g in male collegians and 47.1g in female collegians. In the bivariate analysis, the amount of sugars intake was significantly different by department of major, current smoking status, subjective health status in female collegians (p<0.05). In the multivariate analysis, the amount of sugars intake was related significantly with current drinking status, sleeping time, degree of depression in male students and student's department of major, current smoking status, whether or not of snack intake in female (p<0.05). Conclusions: The program for college students to decrease the sugars intake through processed foods would be necessary, especially in student of non-health department.

  • Purpose: The career education of the college student needs a new awareness. This research provides fundamental data from analyzing necessities of student's career education according to plans of a career education. Methods: Make use of SAS 8.0 of windows and descriptive statistics analysis on investigate Dental Technology 570 students in Daegu. And also it analyzes difference of ispectable t-test and ANOVA. Results: According to a gender, a job experience, where they are come from, there is a meaningful difference of an information and an entrance motive for choosing a major (<.05). The time of choosing the major are different meaningfully (<.001). An awareness about the method of a career achievement is a meaningful difference between men and women(<.05). As getting old, the method of a career achievement is higher and there are meaningful differences according to a grade, job experience and a entrance screening(<.01). In accordance with a gender, a grade, entrance screening, there are meaningful differences of a degree for obtaining the career information activities(<.01). In accordance with an age, when they choose a major, there is a difference(<.001). In accordance with a gender and a age, there are meaningful differences of a career plan(<.001). The age difference is slight. In accordance with a gender and a age, there are meaningful differences how to effort for the career(<.001), and also according to an entrance screening, an entrance motive(<.05). These mean that the first priority for choosing the career and going into the world is a school record. There are meaningful differences of people that the student choose for consulting the career(<.01). According to the job experience there are meaningful differences(<.001). Conclusion: By investigating and analysing the student's career plan, we need to seek how students choose their career reasonably and desirably. And also we need to teach a career education systematically.

Student Nurses's Attitude Toward Computerization (일 간호대학생들의 정보화에 대한 태도)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the student nurses's attitude toward computerization and the factors related to their attitude. The subjects were 636 student nurses studying at one nursing college in Seoul, Korea. Questionnaires were used developed by Hwang & Park(2001) based on the Stronge & Brodt' s study(1985). Cronbach's alpha of the instrument in this study was. 81. The data were collected from September through November in 2003. Major results of this study were as follows. 97% Student nurses have personal computer, the mean hours of using computer were 2.51 and the mean hours of connecting internet were 2.19. The Attitude toward computerization were positive, the mean score was 3.43. Those who were higher grade, and thought that computer would be needed in nursing education, and perceived benefits of computerization, had more favorable attitude toward computerization. The result showed that positive attitude of student nurses would be needed in effective computerization of the health care system, therefore nursing education system and curriculum will be changed on student nurses's need.

A study on the awareness of snack intake preference actual conditions and oral health education for business world man high school locating in Kyonggi province (경기지역 실업계 남자고등학생의 간식선호도 실태와 구강보건교육 인식도에 관한 조사연구)

  • This study is to enforce to ready basic data of effective school dental health education for dental caries prevention, relation knowledge of class, feeding practice and snack intake preference actual conditions, food and caries executed investigation by own recording way using questionnaire consisted of dental health education awareness to some business world man high school locating in Kyonggi Province. Analyzes result that total 487 people respond in SPSS WIN 13.0 programs and got following sequence The obtain result were as follows 1. Results about habit of breakfast was the most by 36.1% a student who have breakfast every day, and a student who hardly eat dominated 32.9%. Second-year student hardly had breakfast (p<.01). 2. A student who answer that snack kind that often eat was cookies and snack kind was the most by 37.2%, and a student who answer that symbol drink was a carbonated drink was the most by 50.9%. 3. Relation knowledge degree appeared grand mean among 18 points perfect score by 12.36 with food and caries. Third-year student knowledge degree was the highest, and second-year student was the lowest knowledge degree by class (p<.01). 4. Existence and nonexistence of experience of dental health education appeared a student who experience that take dental health education does not exist by 57.1%. There was experience that take dental health education as class is low by class, and as class is high, experience did not exists (p<.05). 5. Time that take dental health education for the first time was the most by 56.7% a student who respond 'Babyhood', grade in school is low by class 'Babyhood', and is high by class responded 'Middle school'(p<.05). 6. Awareness of dental health education necessity 'may educate dental health and does not' a student 56.3%, half was looked attitude which students who exceed are insincere about dental health education necessity. 7. When educate dental health, contents was the most by 44.6% 'brushing and mouth article directions' to be educated importantly, and was expose by caries 31.2%, gum disease 10.1%, scaling 9.0%, prosthetic dentistry and implant 5.1% period of ten days, third-year student 50.8% said that 'brushing and mouth article directions' is important (p<.05). Dental health education is practiced during life, and is a teaching that should be remembered. Need to develop epoch-making and interesting education program that is correct in subject to do as quickly as possible, and should be achieved major road of dental hygienist. Dental hygienist will have to settle as quickly as possible as expert of prevention that is natural business and education and help in dental health education development under effort between country and dental association effective.

The effects of Flipped Learning Method on a college student's self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction (플립러닝 학습법이 대학생의 자기 주도적 학습능력, 비판적 사고성향, 학습 동기, 학습 만족도에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study is to analyze the effects that Flipped Learning Method has on a college student's self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction, and determine its effectiveness as a new pedagogical approach. Methods: The survey was conducted on dental technology students. The collected data was analyzed by the statistical program SPSS 21.0. The results were analyzed by reliability, frequency, t-test. To test for significance on each item, p<0.05 has been decided as a standard. Results: According to the analysis, the student who attended a class that utilized Flipped Learning Method was found to have higher levels of self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction than a student who attended a class that did not utilize such a method. Conclusion: The study results show that, in order to enhance students' self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction and to improve the quality of class instruction, it may be necessary that Flipped Learning Method be adopted more widely and recommended more strongly. Such changes will promote a long term improvement in educational environments and play a major role in strengthening students' abilities.

  • This study aims to suggest proper alternatives of college practice and to do a effective practice in institute of clinical training, through analyze empowerment factors of health-related college students who experienced clinical practice. The scale of empowerment was consisted of self-esteem, self-control, personal control, major career control, morale for major, growth of knowledge and technique. Reliability of scale(Cronbach ${\alpha}$ value) was .944. Factors of health-related college students' empowerment was related to gender(${\beta}$=-.029), satisfaction to major department(${\beta}$=.194), satisfaction to supervision(${\beta}$=.196), and satisfaction practice class(${\beta}$=.204). As results, to increase empowerment, students have to be content with major and class, supervisor have to make full use of the clinical manual for student and supportive relation with student to be a systematic practice. In college, students have to take an clinical class and sufficient orientations before practice, and assign clinical institution and practical duration that they want.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate how one's motive to choose a major of study, career values, and satisfaction with the major affect immersion within the major. Methods: A self-administered questionnaire on choice of major and career values was completed by 224 students from March 2nd to March 15th of 2022. The collected data were analyzed using several metrics and tests with IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0 software: frequency and percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and linear regression. Results: The average scores of the motive to choose a major, career values, satisfaction with the major, and immersion in the major were 3.15, 3.91, 3.56, and 3.45, respectively. There were significant correlations between all four variables (p<0.05). Career values and satisfaction with the major positively influenced a student's immersion in that major; the explanatory power of the model was 77% (p<0.01). Conclusion: The department should offer education on career values to further increase the immersion of dental technician students within their chosen major.

  • Purpose: The work of Dental technician which is part of national dental health, is more specialized recently. This research provides fundamental data from analyzing student's career consciousness according to needs of a career education. Here is the conclusion of the analysis about student's career consciousness, that is for a right choice of career. Methods: This study did questionnaire to a dental Laboratory Technology student who locate in Taegu. Question response student number was 570 people. Response contents analyzed to 506 people except imperfect questionnaire. Data used windows sas 8.0 program and did descriptive statistical analysis. Results: There is a meaningful difference in what they want to know about an occupation according to ages. (${\rho}$ < 0.01) All ages are similar to their occupational thinking, however they who are under twenties consider working environment. Most motives of an entrance are similar, there is a meaningful difference. (${\rho}$ < 0.05) According to a grade of college, there is a meaningful difference how to obtain informations of a career. (${\rho}$ < 0.05) Sophomores and juniors obtain information from seniors or family, however freshmen obtain from the internet because of an accessibility. There is a meaningful difference of a job meaning between men and women. (${\rho}$ < 0.01) Men are working for a means of living. But women give weight to a self-development. The older they grow, the more they know about their aptitude. Selecting subjects are different choosing time & motive. According to ages and where they are from, there is a meaningful difference how much know about their aptitude. (${\rho}$ < 0.05) Older Students know more than young students. Selecting subjects are different choosing time & motive. In accordance with a grade, ages, and where they are from, there are different degrees about how much know their interests. There is a meaningful difference of a choosing major period and choosing informations. (${\rho}$ < 0.01) And also there is a meaningful difference where they are from and why they enter to College. We need to teach a career education systematically; considering students career consciousness, with a proper career guidance, cultivating career consciousness.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the subject's self-esteem, major satisfaction, and interpersonal ability, and to identify factors that affect interpersonal relationships. Methods: The subjects of this study were 135 nursing college students in the third and forth grades enrolled in a college located in B Metropolitan City. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire was used, and the data collection period was from July 13, 2020 to August 9, 2020. Results: The average degree of self-esteem, major satisfaction, and degree of interpersonal relationship were relatively high. The interpersonal relationship ability according to the general characteristics of the subjects showed significant differences in religion, residence type, departmental friend, health status, and satisfaction with clinical practice. The factors influencing the subject's interpersonal relationship ability were in the order of self-esteem, major satisfaction, good health, and traces of residence. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is considered necessary to develop a nursing intervention program that can enhance the interpersonal skills of nursing college students.
