  • In recent years, as the robot technology is developed the researches on the artificial muscle actuator that enable robot to move dextrously like biological organ become active. The widely used materials for artificial muscle are the shape memory alloy and the electroactive polymer. These actuators have the higher energy density than the electromechanical actuator such as motor. However, there are some drawbacks for actuator. SMA has the hysterical dynamic characteristics. In this paper the segmented binary control for reducing the hysteresis of SMA is proposed and the simulation of anthropomorphic robotic hand is performed using ADAMS.

In this paper, the simulation of anthropomophic robotic hand is performed using ADAMS and the segmented binary control for reducing the hysteresis of SMA is proposed. SMA is controlled by thermo-electric module. The relations between the force and the hysteresis are developed to verify the validity of the suggested method.

작업용 장갑 개발을 위한 성인 남성 손 형태 분석 (Analyzing Adult Male Hand Shape for the Development of Work Gloves)

  • This study aimed to classify the hand types of adult males aged 20 to 69 years using three-dimensional measurement data from the 2020 8th Korean Anthropometric Survey, the latest measurement data from the National Institute of Standards and Technology Size Korea, and explore the characteristics of each type. Through this, I aimed to draw implications for the development of work gloves. The factors that make up an adult male's hand were categorized into hand and finger thickness factors, palm length factors, and finger length factors. Adult male hands were categorized into four types: small, thin hands and long fingers; thick, long fingers; medium, short hands and fingers; and large, thin, short fingers. The analysis showed that the younger the age, the more slender and long the hands and fingers, and as age increased, hands and fingers became shorter and thicker. Implications for the development of work gloves included the need for size segmentation based on the age of the work glove user, changes in the way glove dimensions are set based on hand length and hand circumference, and the need to segment gloves by the type of work. Hand typing in future research should be done according to occupational groups, and glove patterns should be developed for each type of work based on the results of this study.

제스쳐 인식을 이용한 DID 인터페이스 구현 (Implementation of DID interface using gesture recognition)

  • 본 논문에서는 DID 시스템에서 사용할 수 있는 제스쳐 인식을 이용한 비접촉식 인터페이스를 구현하였다. 비접촉식 인터페이스는 별도의 부착물 없이 키넥트 카메라만을 사용함으로, 사용자의 편의와 공간적인 활용도를 높일 수 있다. 손 동작인식에는 사용자의 손 움직임의 기울기와 속력을 인식하는 방향성 기반의 인식 기법을 채용하였고 손 모양인식을 위해서 YCbCr 칼라모델을 이용한 손 영역 추출과 손 넓이의 원을 이용한 영상처리 기술로 손가락의 수를 인식하였다. 이러한 손 동작인식과 손 모양인식을 이용하여 다음 페이지, 이전 페이지, 화면 위로, 화면 아래로, 커서 움직임, 클릭 등의 이벤트를 발생시켜 DID 시스템 제어 명령으로 사용하였으며, 구현한 시스템을 갖고 동작 실험한 결과 93%의 명령 인식률을 보여 실용화의 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

위편성물에서 Rib stitch와 Milan stitch의 편성결합이 태에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Construction Combination of Rib Stitch and Milan Stitch on Objective Hand Values of Weft Knit)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate change of mechanical and physical properties, shape behavior and hand value in weft knit when rib stitch and milan stitch are combined. The knit stitches used in this study are plain stitch, half milan rib stitch, milan rib stitch, $2{\times}1$ rib stitch, $2{\times}1$ half milan rib stitch and $2{\times}1$ milan rib stitch. We analyzed physical and mechanical properties(tensile, bending, shear, compression, surface properties, thickness and weight) of the knit stitches and calculated their primary hand value and total hand value through translational formulas using the KES(Kawabata Evaluation System). The results are as follows; In evaluation of mechanical properties and hand values of knit stitches, plain stitch had the highest flexibility and the lowest T.H.V. as women's winter knit wear. Since $2{\times}1$ rib stitch had too high elongation in one direction, although it had the highest T.H.V, it needs to be careful when plain stitch and $2{\times}1$ rib stitch are applied for women's winter knit wear. Since Milan rib stitch and $2{\times}1$ milan rib stitch had high T.H.V. similarly, it is considered that they are suitable for women's winter knit wear. Specially, when Milan stitch is combined with $2{\times}1$ rib stitch, its shape stability and fullness are contained and flexibility is added on it. Therefore, $2{\times}1$ milan rib stitch can be also applied for women's winter knit wear.

The "Sombrero-Shape" Super-Thin Pedicled ALT Flap for Complete Scrotal Reconstruction Following Fournier's Gangrene

  • When the scrotal sac is entirely debrided following a Fournier gangrene, testes exposure poses unique challenges for the reconstructive surgeon. Despite the anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap is considered a workhorse in such context, aesthetic results are often suboptimal because of the lack of natural ptosis and patchwork appearance. We describe the use of a super-thin pedicled ALT flap for total scrotal reconstruction, modified according to a peculiar flap design and inset technique. A 42-year-old man was referred to our department for delayed total scrotal reconstruction 8 months after a Fournier gangrene extensive debridement. A super-thin pedicled ALT flap from the right thigh was designed: in the central portion of the ALT, a lateral skin paddle extension was marked to guarantee adequate posterior anchorage during insetting and ptosis of the scrotal sac. This particular flap arrangement has inspired the name "sombrero" as the shape is akin to the famous hat. No secondary refinements were needed, and the patient showed satisfying aesthetic and functional results at 12 months' follow-up. The ALT flap design "sombrero" modification proposed in this article can improve scrotum cosmesis and patient satisfaction in a single-stage single-flap procedure.

노년층 여성의 손 유형 분석 (Analysis on Hand Types of Elderly Women)

  • This study categorizes and analyzes hand types based on 2-Dimensional measurements of women in their 60-80's in order to establish initial data that can help develop a well-fitted glove and hand protector for elderly women. A total of 22 measurement items were selected to provide information about Size Korea (2010) 3D hand measurements. Participants in the study were 353 elderly women over the age of 60. Subjects were divided into two age groups (60's and over 70's). Statistical tests (such as Descriptive Analysis and T-test) analyzed the data and ascertained the age differences. A factor analysis and cluster analysis were conducted to classify elderly women hand types. The disparities between 20-30's and over 60's age groups were compared by T-test with the SPSS 20 program for Windows. The results in this study are follows: The hand shapes for elderly women were divided into 3 groups. Elderly women's Hand Type A is average length and the medium breadth hand type. Type B is the biggest length and breadth, Type C is the smallest length and breadth hand type. There were significant differences in the 20-30's and over 60's age groups for most hand length and breadth items. In addition, the mean measurement value of the length items decreased as the age increased; however, the diversity of items increased, so that it became shorter and wider. Further study should include the classification of hand shape dimensions for each figure type of sizing gloves for elderly women. We expect hand types to be applicable to the manufacture of gloves for elderly women.

수화소 분석을 통한 손동작 움직임 표현방법 (Advanced Representation Method of Hand Motion by Cheremes Analysis in KSL)

  • 본 논문에서는 손동작 인식을 위한 개선된 손동작 움직임 표현방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 다양하고 통일된 손동작 움직임을 인식하기 위해서 수화(한글수화) 시 사용되는 손동작에 적용시킨 표현방법이다. 수화 특히, 한글수화(KSL)는 수화소(Cheremes)라는 요소들, 즉, 손의 이동 방향, 손가락모양, 손의 위치 등의 조합에 의해 단어 또는 문장이 완성되어 의미 있는 수화가 완성된다. 본 논문에서는 한글 수화에서 이용되는 수화소(Cheremes)를 5개의 수화소 즉, 손의 이동방향(HMO),손가락모양(FS), 손의 방향(H0), 손의 위치(HP) 및 사용하는 손의 수(HN)로 분류, 표현한다. 손의 이동방향(HMO)은 수화에서 단어 또는 문장을 표현하는데 사용되는 방향을 고려하여 17개의 방향성분으로 표현한다. 손가락 모양(FS)은 수화동작에서 사용되는 손가락의 모양에 따라 17개의 성분으로 표현할 수 있으며, 또한, 손의 바닥을 이용하는지 손등을 이용하는지에 따라 손의 방향(HO)이 2가지 특징으로 표현된다. 손의 현재 위치(HP)는 수화동작에서 손이 놓이는 위치를 의미하며, 머리영역에서 가슴영역까지 전체 8개의 영역으로 나뉘어 표현한다. 마지막으로 사용하는 손의수는 수화동작에서 손 하나만을 사용하는지 양쪽 모두를 사용하는 지를 나타내는 것으로, 2가지 특징으로 표현한다. 제안된 손동작 표현방법을 한글수화의 단어 및 문장 모두에 적용한 결과 모든 KSL이 제안된 표현방법으로 완벽하게 표현됨을 보였다.

Obstacle Avoidance of Redundant Manipulator Using Potential and AMSI

  • This study is intended to build a controller of redundant manipulators with the simultaneous abilities of trajectory tracking and obstacle avoidance without any preparations of path planning to achieve full automation even for one production of one kind, while keeping the avoidance ability high and keeping its shape away from object to reduce the possibility that the manipulator crashes to the object. To evaluate the avoidance ability of the intermediate link, we proposed a scalar value of Avoidance Manipulability Shape Index(AMSI), which is independent of the obstacle's shape. On the other hand, the danger to crash to the obstacle is depending on the shape of the obstacle, which could be evaluated by the potential field set around the obstacle. This paper proposes control method of the manipulator's shape based on the AMSI to simultaneously avoid obstacles and keep the avoidance ability high with potential.

The Peculiarities of New Textile Hand Evaluation Method

  • The paper presents information concerning metrological and technical characteristics of KTU-Griff-Tester device, the optimization of its parameters and the cases of its application. It was defined that the behaviour of textile material during its extraction through a rounded hole depends upon its structure. Variations of geometrical shape of woven and knitted specimens can be described by mathematical expressions of shortened epicycloids and Cassini ovals. It is shown that waving process of disc shaped specimen can be predicted on the basis of the law of sine curve. The examples of textiles treatment with different types of commercial softeners are presented, herewith showing the suitability (sensitiveness) of the new device to detect the changes of textile hand. Meantime it is shown that the level of materials anisotropy can be decided on the basis of transformations of specimen's geometrical shape.
