플라즈마/촉매 공정을 이용한 n-헵테인과 일산화탄소 동시제거 (Combined Removal of n-heptane and CO using Plasma-catalytic Process)

  • 본 연구는 플라즈마/촉매 공정을 이용하여 n-헵테인과 일산화탄소의 동시제거에 대해 조사하였다. n-헵테인과 일산화탄소의 분해특성을 파악하기 위해 플라즈마/촉매 공정과 촉매공정의 분해효율을 비교하였고, 촉매의 종류, 온도, 전력 등을 변화시켜 실험을 진행하였다. n-헵테인의 분해효율은 반응기 내부의 온도보다는 에너지밀도에 더 영향을 많이 받는 것으로 확인되었으며, 일산화탄소는 에너지밀도와 반응기 내부 온도 모두의 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 촉매의 종류를 달리하며 n-헵테인의 분해효율을 조사한 결과 $Pd/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ > $Ru/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3{\approx}Ag/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$순으로 나타났다. 특히, $Pd/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$를 사용한 경우 n-헵테인 분해 과정에서 일산화탄소가 거의 발생하지 않았으며, $CO_2$ 선택도가 100%에 가까웠다. 일산화탄소 분해효율은 $Pd/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ > $Ru/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ > $Ag/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ 순으로 나타났으며, $180^{\circ}C$이하의 온도에서는 플라즈마/촉매 공정의 효율이 높고, $180^{\circ}C$이상에서는 촉매 공정의 분해효율이 높았다.

  • This paper is a brief review of the different procedures that are available for fitting theoretical distributions to data. The use of each technique Is illustrated by reference to a distribution system which including the Pearson, Johnson and Burr functions. These functions can be used to calculate percent out of specification. Therefore, in this paper a new method for estimating a measure of process capability for Gamma distributed variable data proposed using the percentage nonconforming. Process capability indices combines with the percentage nonconforming Information can be used to evaluate more accurately process capability.

  • Purpose: This paper is concerned with optimally designing accelerated degradation test (ADT) plans based on a gamma process for the degradation model. Methods: By minimizing the asymptotic variance of the MLE of the q-th quantile of the lifetime distribution at the use condition, the test stress levels and the proportion of test units allocated to each stress level are optimally determined. Results: The optimal plans of ADT are developed for various combination of parameters. In addition, a method for determining the sample size is developed, and sensitivity analysis procedures are illustrated with an example. Conclusion: It is important to optimally design ADT based on a gamma process under the condition that a degradation process should be always nonnegative and strictly increasing over time.

  • This paper presents an experimental study on the freeze drying process for poly ${\gamma}$ glutamic acid. The physical properties of poly ${\gamma}$ glutamic acid are measured during the freeze-drying process. The moisture contents of poly ${\gamma}$ glutamic acid according to the glass transient temperature are obtained by DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) analysis. The end point of primary drying for the poly ${\gamma}$ glutamic acid with a thickness of 3 mm is obtained by measuring the thickness of the dried layer, the amount of moisture evaporation, the moisture content, and the pressure in the drying vacuum chamber during the freeze-drying process. By considering the variation in the glass transient temperature with respect to the moisture content of the material, a control schedule for the heating plate temperature is suggested during the secondary drying process.

Combinational Effect of Moist Heating and Gamma Irradiation on The Inactivation of Trypsin Inhibitory Activity in Soybean

  • The combinational effect of gamma irradiation and moist heating on the trypsin inhibitor activity (TIA) in soaked and dried soybeans was evaluated by measuring the inhibition using N-benzoyl-DL-arginine-p-nitroanilide (BAPNA) as substrate. Gamma irradiation significantly decreased the TIA level in soybean at doses above 5 kGy, and the $ID_{50}$ (the gamma irradiation dose required to reach 50% inhibition) value for TIA was 13.53 kGy. Soaking prior to gamma irradiation significantly lowered the $ID_{50}$ to 8.44 kGy, and the soaking process enhanced the efficiency to inactivate TIA by as much as 48%. When soaking prior to gamma irradiation was followed by subsequent mild heating ($60^{\circ}C$) process, the $IT_{50}$ (heating time required to reach the 50% inhibition of TIA) value at even 1 kGy (5.28 min) was greatly reduced by over 50% compared to the level for the no-soaking process. In addition, the activation energy of soaking prior to gamma irradiation at 1 kGy was 2.45 kcal/mole, which was also about 50% lower than the 5.10 kcal/mole of dried soybean gamma-irradiated. Based on these results, soaking prior to gamma irradiation is an effective method for TIA inhibition. Furthermore, a combination of two or more processing methods such as soaking, heating and gamma irradiation is much more effective than any single processing method.

감마과정 모델을 적용한 포구속도 저하량에 따른 저장수명 예측기법 연구 (A Study on the Storage Life Estimation Method for Decrease of Muzzle Velocity using Gamma Process Model)

  • The aim of the study is to investigate the method to estimate a storage life of propelling charge on the decrease of muzzle velocity by stochastic gamma process model. It is required to establish criterion for state failure to estimate the storage life and it is defined in this paper as a muzzle velocity difference between reference value and maximum allowable standard deviation multiplied by 6. The relationship between storage time and muzzle velocity is investigated by nonlinear regression analysis. The stochastic gamma process model is used to estimated the state distribution and the life distribution for storage time for 155mm propelling charge KM4A2 because the regression analysis is a deterministic method and it can't describe the distribution of life for storage time.

  • 블랙-숄즈 모형이 실제 기초자산의 움직임을 반영하지 못한다는 사실이 실증연구에 의하여 밝혀진 이후 기초자산의 움직임을 레비확률과정을 이용하여 모형화한 옵션가격결정 모형들이 그 대안 중 하나로 연구되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 블랙-숄즈 모형의 대안으로 제시된 레비모형 중 Variance Gamma 모형이 국내 주식시장에서의 기초자산의 움직임을 블랙-숄즈 모형보다 충실히 재현해내는지 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위하여 Madan 등 (1998)의 연구에서와 같이 로그수익률의 확률밀도함수와 옵션 가격 결정식을 바탕으로 KOSPI 200자료를 이용하여 모수를 추정하고 우도비 검정을 실시하였다. 또한, 옵션 가격을 추정한 후 모형 간의 비교를 위하여 다양한 통계량을 계산하고, 회귀분석을 통하여 변동성 스마일 현상이 교정되는지를 살펴보았다. 연구결과로부터 Variance Gamma 모형 하에서 추정된 옵션 가격이 블랙-숄즈 모형 하에서 추정된 그것보다 더 시장가격과 가까우나, 이 모형도 변동성 스마일 현상을 해결해주지는 못함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Coalescence behavior of dispersed domains in binary immiscible fluid mixtures having bimodal size distributions under steady shear flow

  • Coalescence process of binary immiscible fluid mixtures having bimodal size distributions, prepared by mixing two pre-sheared samples at different shear rates, ${\gamma}_{pre1}\;and\;{\gamma}_{pre2}$, under shear flow at a final shear rate, ${\gamma}_f$, are examined by transient shear stress measurements and microscopic observations in comparison with the results for simply pre-sheared samples having narrow size distributions (unimodal distribution samples). Component fluids are a silicone oil (PDMS) and a hydrocarbon-formaldehyde resin (Genelite) and their viscosities are 14.1 and 21.0 $pa{\cdot}sec$ at room temperature $(ca.\;20^{\circ}C)$, respectively. The weight ratio of PDMS: Genelite was 7:3. Three cases, $({\gamma}_{pre1}=7.2sec^{-1},\;{\gamma}_{pre2}=12.0sec^{-1}\;and\;{\gamma}_f=2.4sec^{-1}),\;({\gamma}_{pre1}=0.8sec^{-1},\;{\gamma}_{pre2}=4.0sec^{-1}\;and\;{\gamma}_f=2.4sec^{-1}),\;and\;({\gamma}_{pre1}=7.2sec^{-1},\;{\gamma}_{pre2}=12.0^sec^{-1}\;and\;{\gamma}_f=7.2sec^{-1})$ the first case, transient shear stress did not show any significant difference but domains larger than the initial state are observed at short times. In the latter cases, there exist undershoot of shear stress, reflecting existence of deformed large domains, which is confirmed by the direct observation. It is concluded that coalescence between large and small domains more frequently occur than coalescence between the domains with similar size in the bimodal distribution samples.
