As part of the free semester program, the 'Gardener for a day' program in the Korea National Arboretum was newly developed in 2018. The program was developed as a free semester program reflecting the works of a 'gardener' who performs the planning, preparation, maintenance and management of exhibition gardens. This 'Gardener for a day' program was applied to a total of 106 middle school students in October 2018. Educational elements were extracted from Korea National Arboretum exhibition gardens and career exploration of gardeners. The program was designed to provide education on theory and practices, including watching the gardener video, visiting the gardener booth, meeting with actual gardeners at Korea National Arboretum, visiting two exhibition gardens, and participating in three types of practical training as a gardener. A survey about program satisfaction and education was conducted after the program to analyze the students' satisfaction with the program (contents, management, instructor), free semester program (career planning, occupational attitude, independence), and education (awareness of forest biospecies, preservation will). The analysis showed that the following results: satisfaction with the program (score 4.0), free semester program (score 3.8), and education (score 4.0). Comparative analysis of the pretest-posttest questionnaires showed that there were significant educational effects in career planning, occupational attitude, and awareness of forest biospecies.

현 정부에서는 창의인재육성을 위한 핵심 교육정책으로서 중학교를 대상으로 2013년도부터 자유학기제를 도입하여 2016년에는 모든 중학교에서 전면 실시하고 있다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 자유학기제를 위한 도서관기반 독서문화 프로그램 모형을 개발하여 보급하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 학생, 교사, 학부모, 도서관 사서를 대상으로 독서문화 프로그램 요구 조사를 실시하여 이를 바탕으로 자유학기제 자율과정 구성에 따른 4가지 영역(진로탐색활동, 동아리활동, 예술 체육활동, 주제선택활동)의 도서관 기반 독서문화 프로그램을 개발하였다.

The research aim of this investigation was to present implications and supplements in policy research middle school which has implemented free learning semester for 3 years from 2013 to now, through identifying and analyzing education program. In this study, the results were as follows. Firstly, it was needed to generalize career education programs. I was required to make a specialized program which was suitable for a characteristic of school and community rather than department-store-like program. Secondly, in considering career development stage of middle school students, it seemed that implementation of free learning semester was suitable for second grades. Thirdly, teacher interns should be used appropriately in order to manage efficiently free learning semester. Lastly, it was needed to develop a specialized program for career education through studying with expert groups.

본 연구에서는 자유학기제에 대한 사서들의 인식을 조사하고 자유학기제 연계를 위한 도서관 프로그램 개발 의지, 현재 자유학기제를 위한 프로그램 제공 여부 등에 대해 조사하고자 하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 자유학기제에 대하여 54.20%가 알고 있으며,자유학기제 관련 연수 참여 경험은 80.15%로 나타났다. 자유학기제 도입 시 기대효과로는 자유학기제를 통해 다양한 체험활동을 할 수 있다가 가장 높게 나타났으며, 고려사항에 대해 전담인력의 구성과 함께 전담인력의 책임감과 전문성을 강화해야 함이 가장 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 자유학기제 연계를 위한 도서관 프로그램 및 제공에 대해 58.02%가 자유학기제 도입이 도서관의 역할 확대를 위한 기회라고 생각하였으며, 예산부족이 활성화 장애 요인으로 나타났다. 또한 63.36%가 도서관에서 프로그램을 제공해 본 경험이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 도서관에서 제공해 보고 싶은 자유학기제 프로그램에 대한 인식을 분석한 결과, 사람도서관(Human Library)과 읽GO! 생각하GO! 꿈꾸GO!(중학생을 대상으로 진로 및 다양한 직원군에 대해 독서 활동과 체험 활동을 통해 알아보는 프로그램)가 평균 3.939로 가장 제공해 보고 싶은 프로그램인 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구는 도서관의 자유학기제 프로그램에 대한 학생의 수요조사를 알아보기 위하여 설문을 개발하여, 이를 기반으로 중학교 1, 2학년 학생들을 대상으로 인식을 조사하였다. 중학생들이 자유학기제를 통해서 향상시키고자 하는 능력요소는 진로탐색능력이며, 중점적으로 운영된 자유학기제 유형은 진로탐색활동이다. 수업방식은 주로 체험중심 수업으로 이루어졌으며, 자유학기제 동안 참여하고 싶은 활동으로는 진로탐색 영역에서는 현장 체험 활동을, 학생선택 프로그램에서는 요리실습을, 동아리활동에서는 스마트폰 앱 개발, 예술영역에서는 디자인 활동을, 체육영역에서는 배드민턴을, 정보활용능력에서는 아이패드 사용하기를 가장 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자유학기제와 연계한 도서관 프로그램 중 직업체험 프로그램을 가장 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 학생들의 의견을 참고하여 자유학기제 프로그램 개발과 실행을 해야 할 것이며, 도서관이 제공한 자유학기제 프로그램에 대한 만족도를 조사할 필요성이 나타났다.

In recent years, coding education has been globally emphasized and the Free Semester System will be executed to the public schools in Korea from 2016. With the introduction of the Free Semester System and the rising demand of Computational Thinking (CT) capacity, this research aims to design 'learning environment' in which learners can design and construct mathematical objects through computers and print them out through 3D printers. Furthermore, it will design learning mathematics by constructing the figurate number patterns from 'soma cubes' in the playing context and connecting those to algebraic and combinatorial patterns, which will allow students to experience mathematical connectivity. It is expected that the activities of designing figurate number patterns suggested in this research will not only strengthen CT capacity in relation to mathematical thinking but also serve as a meaningful program for the Free Semester System in terms of career experience as 3D printers can be widely used.

이 연구의 목적은 중학교 기술.가정 교과 초임 기술 교사를 대상으로 '자유학기제'의 수업 내용과 수업 운영에 대한 기술 교사들의 인식을 분석하여 자유학기제 기술 수업의 만족도를 높이기 위한 기초 자료로 제공하고자 하는데 있다. 이 연구 데이터는 중학교 기술가정 교과를 지도하고 있는 100명의 기술교사를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시한 후 분석한 것이다. 연구에 사용된 설문 조사 도구는 문헌 연구를 통하여 연구자가 개발하였고, 전문가 4인의 검토를 받아 수정 보완하였다. 수집한 자료는 통계 프로그램(SPSS, Ver. 18)을 활용하여 분석하였고, 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전체 교사들의 자유학기제 수업 경험별 수업 내용 및 만족도 응답에서는 모든 항목에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 그러나 남녀 교사별 수업 내용 및 만족도 응답에서는 남교사들이 여교사들 보다 '진로탐색'에 더 도움이 된다고 하였으며, 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 실습 공간 유무에 따른 응답에서, 진로탐색에 대한 만족도는 실습 공간이 있는 교사의 만족 평균(M=3.64)이 실습공간이 없는 교사의 평균(M=3.25)보다 높았고, 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 자유학기제를 경험한 교사들에 대한 응답을 분석한 결과, 남교사들은 여교사들보다 평가준거를 정하는데 어려움이 있었으며, 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 넷째, 기술교사들은 자유학기제 기술 수업의 만족도를 높이기 위해서 실습재료 부족, 수업시수 증가, 실습 공간 및 수업 내용 부족 등의 해결을 요청하였다. 다섯째, 자유학기제 수업자료는 주로 인터넷이나 기술 교과 연구회의 자료를 활용하였으며, 자유학기제에 대한 연수와 정보 공유를 요청하고 있다.

The results showed that the male teachers' have higher expectations of the free learning semester compared to the female teachers'. Furthermore, the teachers who had experienced the free learning semester felt less job burdens than the teachers who did not. In addition, the subject teachers showed higher expectations of the free learning semester than the general teachers or the homeroom teachers. Therefore, in order to establish a stable system of free learning semester, it should be preceded by development of differentiated program of special education, free learning semester, strengthening of advance training, establishment of the system for participating in the whole school and the simplification of administration.

대통령기록물은 당시의 시대상을 반영하고 국가 국정운영의 행정투명성과 설명책임성을 뒷받침할 수 있는 증거적 가치를 지닌 자료이다. 최근 잇따른 대통령기록물 유출 사건으로 인해 국민들의 대통령기록물에 대한 관심이 높아지고, 세종 신청사 이전으로 국민친화적인 서비스를 제공하려는 대통령기록관의 목적에 맞춰 본 연구는 이용자가 기록관에 접근하고 기록물을 활용할 수 있도록 도움을 주고자 한다. 자유학기제가 2016년부터 전면적으로 시행되면서 중학생은 한 학기동안 외부기관에서 교육을 받을 수 있게 되었다. 이는 기록관이 낯선 중학생들에게 기록관과 기록물에 접근할 수 있는 좋은 환경을 마련해주고 기록관을 홍보할 수 있는 기회이나 아직 관련 연구가 미흡한 상태이다. 이에 국내 외 기관의 교육프로그램을 조사하고 대통령기록관에 적용가능한 자유학기제 교육프로그램을 파악함으로 써 대통령기록물을 활용한 자유학기제 교육프로그램을 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구는 문헌연구, 국내 외 사례분석, 전문가 인터뷰 등을 통해 자유학기제 교육프로그램을 제시하였다. 첫째, 문헌연구를 통해 자유학기제의 정의 및 유형을 이해하고 자유학기제 교육프로그램 4가지 유형의 대통령기록관에 연계 가능한 교육프로그램을 파악하였다. 둘째, 웹사이트 분석과 정보공개청구를 통해 국외 기록관과 국내 도서관 및 기록관의 교육프로그램을 조사하였다. 국외 기록관은 학생 주도의 교육프로그램, 국내 도서관 및 기록관은 자유학기제 교육프로그램을 중심으로 총 46곳의 교육프로그램을 분석하였다. 셋째, 앞선 결과를 바탕으로 대통령기록물을 활용한 자유학기제 교육프로그램 4가지 유형과 구체적 적용 예시까지 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to develop a free semester program using sustainable materials therefore improving the clothing & textiles section of the middle school textbook and the systematic and in-depth sustainable fashion education based on theme selection activity, as one of free semester system activities in the middle school. Our analysis on the programs, which was performed from 2018 to 2019, showed that the clothing & textiles programs were majorly focused making simple household items through basic needlework and knitting. The programs that related to the sustainable fashion education were environmental programs associated with other textbooks, or mainly included simple upcycling and were mainly operated as arts & physical education or club activities, rather than theme selection programs. According to results from a questionnaire survey on teachers incharge of the system, they had an intention of starting sustainable fashion education program or clothing & textiles section but failed due to low number of participants, practice cost, and time burden. Based on our analysis, this study proposed a 17-session based free semester program that includes the understanding of the sustainable fashions concept, classification of sustainable materials and systematic and stepwise practice in association with the middle school textbook clothing & textile section. The teaching materials developed in this study are expected to be incorporated in the program that helps students understand the right concept of sustainable fashions and respond to the pending environmental issue actively and systematically.
