Plasma display panel (PDP) is a type of flat panel display utilizing the light emission that is produced by gas discharge. Barrier Ribs of PDP separating each sub-pixel prevents optical and electrical crosstalk from adjacent sub-pixels. Mold for forming barrier ribs has been newly researched to overcome the disadvantages of conventional manufacturing process such as screen printing, sand-blasting and photosensitive glass methods. Mold for PDP barrier ribs have stripes of micro grooves transferring stripes of glass-material wall. In this paper. Stripes of grooves of which width 48 um, depth 124um, pitch 274um was acquired by machining the material of WC with dicing saw blade. Maximum roughness of the bottom and sidewall of the grooves was respectively 120 nm, 287 nm. Maximum tilt angle caused by difference between upper-most width and lower-most width was 2$^{\circ}$. Maximum Radius of curvature of bottom was 7.75 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. This results meets the specification for barrier ribs of 50 inch XGA PDP. Forming the glass paste will be followed by using mold in the near future.
The patrol robot is a typical extreme robot for the military use. It helps soldiers by detecting and informing a potential risk instead, and warning earlier. Also, these kinds of extreme robots need good ability to conquest rough road. In this paper, we studied new mechanism through which we can get high speed on the flat road with round shape wheels, and simultaneously can get good ability to overcome rough road with blade-shape wheels. The shape of the wheels is being self-adaptively changed automatically according to the condition of the road without using additional actuator.

Fresnel lens is a kind of refractive optical lens with various advantages. It has nearly flat shaped optical lens that has small mass. Fresnel lens has number of applications in the compact optical systems. Recently, demands of high quality Fresnel lens for small size optical systems such as illumination units, compact imaging systems, display units, information storage systems, optical detecting units had increased rapidly. Conventional manufacturing process of high quality Fresnel lens is direct machining. However, it is not suitable for mass production because of high cost and long cycle time. Replication method can provide cost effective mass production process. However, there are various issues about replication of Fresnel lens. Fresnel lens has number of sharp blade shape prism. In the replication process, this blade shape causes defects that can affect optical efficiency. In this study, replication processes; injection molding process and UV imprinting process, were developed and evaluated using Fresnel lens that has maximum pattern height of $250\;{\mu}m$ and aspect ratio of 1.5.
The present study is concerned with the flow patterns induced by various impellers in a rectangular tank. Impellers are FBT (Flat blade turbine), PBT (Pitched blade turbine), Shroud turbine, Rushton turbine, and Helical ribbon turbine types. The solutions of flows in moving reference frames require the use of 'moving' cell zone. The moving zone approaches are based on MRF (Multiple reference frame), which is a steady-state approximation and sliding method, which is an unsteady-state approximation. Numerical results using two moving zone approaches we compared with experiments by Ranade & Joshi, which have done extensive LDA measurements of the flow generated by a standard six-bladed Rushton turbine in a cylindrical baffled vessel. In this paper, we simulated the flow patterns with above-mentioned moving zone approaches and impellers. Turbulence model used is RNG $k-{\epsilon}$ model. Sliding-mesh method is more effective than MRF for simulating the rectangular tank with inlet and outlet. RNG $k-{\epsilon}$ model strongly underestimates the velocity of experimental data and velocity by Chen & Kim's model, but it seems to be correctly predicted in overall distribution.
The effect of microsparged aeration in mammalian cell bioreactor on the oxygen transfer rate and cell viability was studied. The microspargers with differ- ent micron-sized pores were used to supply oxygen to the medium. The oxygen transfer coefficients (k$_{L}$a) measured in the bioreactor were markedly increased, which is due to the increase of the contacting area between air bubbles and liquid medium when the pore size of microsparger decreases. When the impellers of two different types (square-pitch marine impeller and $45^{\circ}$ pitched flat blade impeller) were used for agitation, the k$_{L}$a values were slightly higher with the marine impeller than with the blade impeller. The detrimental effect of direct gas sparging with microsparger on mammalian cells was investigated in bubble columns with various air flow rates and different pore sized microspargers. The first-order cell death rate constant ($k_{d}$ /7) was shown to be directly proportional to the air flow rate and inversely proportional to the pore size. During the cultivation of hybridoma cells using microsparger with the pore size of $0.57\mu$m in the mammalian cell culture bioreactor, the continuous sparging caused the cell death and suppressed the cell growth. However, cells grew normally and cell viability was maintained above 90% in the logarithmic phase when the air was intermittently sparked in order to maintain the dissolved oxygen level above 20%.
Purpose - This case study analyzes the internationalization strategy and innovation strategy as key factors contributing to the business success of CAP, a small and medium-sized manufacturing company in Korea producing auto parts such as wipers. This study describes the diversification strategies conducted by CAP Corporation and highlights the company's core competencies that have largely contributed to their global competitive success. Research design, data, and methodology - This paper provides in-depth case study on how CAP was able to grow into a hidden champion company, focusing on their strategies since its establishment. In particular, by analyzing the success factors centering on CAP's aggressive innovation strategy and internationalization strategy, it presents guidelines for small and medium-sized enterprises in Asian countries to become a Hidden Champion company. Result - CAP's product technology has successfully established innovative system on their product called 'vertebra spring' to distribute uniform pressure to the rubber to ensure performance as well as durability of their products. In order to continue benefiting from utilizing core competence and to continue pursuing technological advancement in the wiper industry, CAP has launched a wide range of products (flat blade, conventional blade, hybrid blade) applicable to 95% of the vehicle in the market. Conclusion - Taken together, CAP has many aspects of a hidden champion company by investing in R&D up to 8% of its annual sales to R&D investment even during the crises situation. This number is about 3.36 times higher than the average ratio of listed companies in Korea. Furthermore, the leadership of the management team as well as their vision toward the global market and strong commitment to innovation enabled CAP to become the world's fifth-largest wiper and Asia's No. 1 wiper manufacturer.

Diabetic patients have an increased risk of burn injuries on foot. Because of their diabetic neuropathy, they could contact with hot water or warming device without being aware of it. Split-thickness skin graft (STSG) is successful in treatment of various wound types; however, donor site wounds are sometimes problematic, and complications such as pain and impaired healing often occur. Although, donor site wounds in healthy young individuals can rapidly heal without complications, the wound-healing capacity of elderly patients or those with a comorbidity has been reported to be low. The dermatome is the most commonly used tool because it can harvest a large skin graft in one attempt. However, it is difficult to harvest tissues if the area is not flat. Furthermore, because the harvested skin is usually rectangular, additional skin usually remains after skin grafting. Therefore, use of razor blade and fragmented STSG on a large defect area is advantageous for harvesting a graft with a desired size, shape, and thickness. From January 2018 to July 2018, fragmented STSG was used in 9 patients who suffered from burn induced open wound on foot with diabetic neuropathy. With this approach, healing process was relatively rapid. The mean age of patients was 70 (57~86 years) and all of 9 patients had diabetes mellitus type 2. In all patients, the skin graft on the defect site healed well and did not result in complications such as hematoma or seroma.

Acoustic power spectrum of the upstream and downstream sound field due to an isotropic frozen turbulent gust impinging on a cascade of flat plate airfoils are computed by using a analytic formulation derived from Smith's method, and Whitehead's LINSUB codes. A parametric study of the effects on sound power of the number of blades and turbulence length scale is performed with an emphasis on analyzing the characteristics of sound power spectrum. Through the comparison of the computed results of sound power, it is found that acoustic power spectrum from the 2-D cascade subject to a ingested turbulence can be categorized into two distinct regions. one is lower frequency region where some spectral components of turbulence do not contribute to the cut-on acoustic modes and therefore the effect of the cascade geometry is more dominant ; the other is higher frequency region where all of spectral components of turbulence make contributions to cut-on acoustic modes and thus acoustic power is approximately proportional to the blade number.

When the thickness becomes so small as in the case of the trailing edge of the propeller blade or when the curvature of the surface varies rapidly as in ship stem, the existing panel method employing a flat-surface panel, obtained by collapsing the original non-planar surface into its mean location, suffers the leakage problem and also gives inaccurate induction upon the field point very close to the panel. The hyperboloidal panel deals with the induction from the dipole distributed on the non-planar surface without approximation, overcoming the defects of the flat-surface panel. This paper introduces two distinct derivations of the formulae to compute the integral for the potential induced by a dipole of uniform density distributed on a non-planar hyperboloidal surface element. One method is based on the Gauss-Bonnet theorem and the other is based on the transformation of the surface integral into a line integral.
The supersonic impinging jet has been extensively applied to rocket launching system, gas jet cutting control, gas turbine blade cooling, etc. In such applications, wall temperature of an object on which supersonic jet impinges is a very important factor to determine the performance and life of the device. However, wall temperature data of supersonic impinging jets are not enough to data. The present study describes an experimental work to measure the wall temperatures of a vertical flat plate on which supersonic, dual, coaxial jet impinges. An Infrared camera is employed to measure the wall temperature distribution on the impinging plate. The pressure ratio of the jet is varied to obtain the supersonic jets in the range of over-expanded to moderately under-expanded conditions at the exit of coaxial nozzle. The distance between the coaxial nozzle and the flat plate was also varied. The coaxial jet flows are visualized using a Shadow optical method. The results show that the wall temperature distribution of the impinging plate is strongly dependent on the jet pressure ratio and the distance between the nozzle and plate.
