The patchiness of local environments within a habitat is assumed to be a primary factor affecting the spatial patterns of plants. In this study, a randomization procedure was developed to test the null hypothesis that only spatial association with patches determines the spatial patterns of plants. Oplismenus undulatifolius (Ard.) P. Beauv. var. undulatifolius is an herbaceous plant and a member of the genus Oplismenus in the family Poaceae. Oplismenus hirtellus subsp. undulatifolius occurs in temperate, subtropical, and tropical areas of the world. The spatial pattern of O. undulatifolius var. undulatifolius was analyzed using dispersion indices in different sizes of plots according to several patchiness indexes, population uniformity, or aggregation. Population densities (D) at Mt. Hanwoo varied from 0.453 to 4.375, with a mean of 2.387. The small and mid-sized plots ($2m{\times}2m$, $2m{\times}4m$, $4m{\times}4m$, $4m{\times}8m$, and $8m{\times}8m$) of O. undulatifolius var. undulatifolius were aggregated in the forest community. However, O. undulatifolius var. undulatifolius was uniformly distributed in three large plots ($8m{\times}16m$, $16m{\times}16m$, and $16m{\times}32m$). The greatest mean crowding ($M^*$) and patchiness index (PAI) showed positive values. Aggregation is mainly caused by environmental factors. Many plants on Mt. Hanwoo are being disturbed by climbers, which is preventing these plants from inhabiting their realized niches on Mt. Hanwoo.
This study was conducted to provide the basic information for a reasonable forest management plan and sustainable forest management by developing a dominant tree height growth model using diameter at breast height (DBH) and site index curves for Pinus densiflora and Chamaecyparis obtusa growing in Jeolla-do. The altitude, slope, orientation, soil type, height and DBH of a dominant tree, and the ages of trees were measured for 3055 Pinus densiflora trees (611 plots) and 3345 Chamaecyparis obtusa trees (699 plots), and these data were used to develop a customized afforestation map. In the dominant tree height growth model, the relationship to DBH was used in the Petterson, Michailow, and log equations. Also, a dominant tree height growth model in relationship to age used the Chapman-Richards, Schumacher, and Gompertz equations. The Petterson equation, which has a lower mean square error, was used to model dominant tree height growth in relationship to DBH. In the model of dominant tree height growth in relationship to age, three kinds of equations were considered to have little statistical difference. Therefore, the Chapman-Richards equation was chosen for modeling on the national level. Thirtyyears was used as the base age, which is an important factor for estimating the site index curves. In the results, a more varied range of site index family curves with 6-18 was developed for Pinus densiflora, and with 6-22 for Chamaecyparis obtusa. As the new site index curves indicated influences on growth of Pinus densiflora and Chamaecyparis obtusa, a reasonable forest management plan will be possible in the future for Jeolla-do.
Lymphotoxin ${\beta}$ receptor ($LT{\beta}R$), a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family, plays an important role in lymphoid tissue's architecture and organogenesis. In contrast, MLCK and ROCK play critical roles in the regulation of stress fiber (SF) formation in cells. To determine whether $LT{\beta}R$ stimulation in fibroblastic reticular cells (FRCs) is involved in these signaling pathways, myosin light chain kinase inhibitor-7 (ML-7) was used to inhibit them. ML7-treated FRCs completely blocked SFs and showed retraction and shrinkage processes comparable to those observed in agonistic anti-$LT{\beta}R$ antibody-treated cells. The inhibition of ROCK activity with Y27632-induced changes in actin cytoskeleton organization and cell morphology in FRCs. Actin bundles rearranged into SFs, and phospho-myosin light chain (p-MLC) co-localized in FRCs. We checked the level of Rho-guanosine diphosphate (RhoGDP)/guanosine triphosphate (GTP) exchange activity using FRC lysate. When $LT{\beta}R$ was stimulated with agonistic anti-$LT{\beta}R$ antibodies, Rho-GDP/GTP exchange activity was markedly reduced. Regarding $LT{\beta}R$ signaling with a focus on MLCK inhibition, we showed that the phosphorylation of MLCs was reduced by $LT{\beta}R$ stimulation in FRCs. Cytoskeleton components, such as tubulin, b-actin, and phospho-ezrin proteins acting as membrane-cytoskeleton linkers, were produced in de-phosphorylation, and they reduced expression in agonistic anti-$LT{\beta}R$ antibody-treated FRCs. Collectively, the results suggested that MLCK and ROCK were simultaneously responsible for SF regulation triggered by $LT{\beta}R$ signaling in FRCs.

This study was conducted to build a structural equation model explaining factors that affect hemodialysis patients' quality of life to test the goodness of fit of the model and identify directly and indirectly significant paths. To accomplish this, 230 patients receiving hemodialysis registered at study hospitals in G Metropolitan City and M City were randomly selected, and 201 were used in the final analysis. Data were collected using a self reporting questionnaire from February 1 to March 31, 2014. SPSS WIN 18.0 was used for descriptive statistics and correlation analysis of the general characteristics and for reliability analysis of the research tools. In addition, AMOS 18.0 was used for confirmatory factor analysis of latent variables, to determine the goodness of fit of the hypothetic model, and hypotheses testing. The results of this study were as follows: the fit of the modified model was 41.32, GFI = .96, AGFI = .92, RMR = .04, NFI = .96, CFI = .91 and TLI = .95. Twelve out of the 22 research hypotheses that were improved and improved were statistically significant. The results indicated that hemodialysis patients' quality of life was influenced directly by self-efficacy, depression, and self-care behavior, and indirectly by sleep disturbance, stress, fatigue, and family support. These variables explained 58.6% of the variation in quality of life. Overall, these findings suggest that nursing interventions for hemodialysis patients require strategies for managing patient depression and for increasing self-efficacy and self-care behavior to improve quality of life.
This study explored the relationship between self-esteem of soldiers and adaptation to military life and verified the mediating effect of depression in such relationships. The subjects of this study were 230 Army soldiers based in Gangwon-do. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, difference verification, hierarchical regression analysis, and the mediating effect method. First, according to the difference verification, the level of adaptation to military life was higher when the health status was good, among the general characteristics, when the family health was good, when the soldiers had friends, when they were sergeants rather than privates or corporals, and when they had someone to discuss their concerns. Second, the hierarchical regression analysis showed that the soldiers adapted to the military life better with better health status, when they served as combat soldiers, and when they had someone to consult. In addition, the higher the self-esteem, the main variable, and the lower the depression level, the higher the level of adaption to military life. Third, as a result of the mediating effect analysis, depression was found to have a partial mediating effect in the relationship between self-esteem and military adaptation. Therefore, this study presented practical alternatives to increase self-esteem and reduce depression as a factor to cope with soldiers' adaptation to military life.
The purpose of this study is to examine the necessity of providing new perspectives by conveying the various psychological changes and realities experienced by victims of incest sexual violence after the incident, And it is meaningful to understand and record it through. The results of the analysis through the phenomenological methodology are as follows: First, participants were disturbed by the emotional neglect of their parents and forced violence, threats, and silence by their family members, resulting in disbelief in interpersonal relationships and low self-esteem and suffered constant difficulties in daily life. Second, the suffering and aftereffects of sexual violence experienced the conflict of roles by repeating the real maladjustment and social activity avoidance as the fear of being informed about the event, the negative thought about oneself, and the difficulty of interpersonal relationship. Third, the aftereffects of incest sexual violence in childhood·adolescence were found to be extreme with regard to PTSD. The PTSD experience has become a factor that forces participants to rely on substances, such as psychiatric medications and alcohol, and further avoids external activities with hallucinations and delusions. Fourth, the change through the adaptation process is a new perspective on life, facing and separating the events. During the adaptation program, they tried to express their words and feelings that they could not express because of the past hurts, to set goals for living their life, and to move forward. The experience of overcoming reality has enhanced participants' confidence in self-esteem, self-efficacy, and healthy self-control ability. In this study, it is meaningful to suggest a model in which the incest sexual violence trauma is reexperienced through the new daily crisis and the new adaptation process is repeated for each process.
Economic abundance and the development of medical technology led to an aging society with an average life expectancy of 100 years, but retiring from the labor market at the age of 65 has become more difficult. This study aims to identify the influence of entrepreneurship, social support, and entrepreneurship mentoring as an effective support method to increase the entrepreneurial intention in order to enhance the entrepreneurial intention as an adult's second career development. In this study, data were collected using questionnaires from 340 adults, but only 319 were selected because 21 were judged to be inappropriate. For statistical analysis, SPSS 18.0 was used, and reliability test, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used for hypothesis testing. The research results are as follows. First, as a result of examining the effects of adult entrepreneurship factors on entrepreneurship, it was found that among entrepreneurship, innovation and initiative had a significant positive (+) effect on entrepreneurship. Second, as a result of examining the effect of social support on entrepreneurial intention, it was found that family support had a significant negative (-) effect on entrepreneurial intention. Third, as a result of examining the effect of entrepreneurship mentoring on entrepreneurial intentions, it was found that role models and mentors had a positive (+) effect on entrepreneurial intentions. Fourth, as for the mediating effect of entrepreneurial efficacy, there were significant mediating effects of innovativeness → entrepreneurial efficacy → entrepreneurial intention, role model → entrepreneurial efficacy → entrepreneurial intention, mentor → entrepreneurial efficacy → entrepreneurial intention.

The purpose of this study is to draw safe environmental project factors for enhancing the safety of children in peripheral space around children's park and suggest environmental project measures for peripheral spaces around children's parks, based on the survey of children's park users' consciousness on peripheral spaces. Physical space range for this study was limited to low-rise housing area wihtin the radius of 250m, as peripheral spaces around children's parks in which children's playgrounds were built. In addition, the target areas for examining users' consciousness on peripheral spaces around children's parks were selected according to following criteria. 1)areas with highter portion of children; 2) those with higher portion of single-family houses/multi-housing/tenement houses, which constitute low-rise housing areas; and 3) those with higher safety accident rate of children, which was measured based on criminal and traffic accidents. The finding are as follows: first, users' consciousness on safety accidents that are likely to occur in peripheral spaces around children's parks was examined to show that there is most prominent difference between satisfaction and necessity. This result suggests that users are clearly conscious of the necessity of environmental improvement rather than the satisfaction with the current peripheral environment around children's park.; second, for the difference between satisfaction with and necessity of environmental project factors for access/boundary spaces around children's pakrs, there is most significant difference between the satisfaction with and the necessity of establishment of facilities against illegal parking for clear visibility of community roads, for access spaces, and the separate establishment of bicycle racks around main entry into parks, for boundary spaces. Users' necessity of the establishment of them is judged to be derived from the fact that the safety of children and even adults is threatened, because bicycles invaded into the deep inside of children parks. This study analyzed a correlation between satisfaction and necessity through factor and IPA analysis, and should be initially considenred if the future environmental improvement project would be conducted to promote safe environment in peripheral spaces around children's parks in the future. It will be necessary to provide practical environmental project factors through a field investigation.

Recently, child safety map making education has attracted attention as a way to reduce crimes against children. In Korea, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family organized a child safety map making education program in 2011. The program's manual was revised in 2013 and the Ministry implemented it as a project to promote the rights of women and children. Child safety map making education aims to raise a child's understanding of their neighborhood, to have voluntary control and normal consciousness as a local inhabitant, to be aware of wrong behavior and crime, and to be part of creating a safe urban environment. However, when compared to educational programs in other major developed countries, the child safety map making education program in Korea currently does not improve a child's awareness of their surroundings. In this workshop study, we proposed and ran a new program to improve children's awareness of their environment based on the active participation of children in the existing safety map educational program. The workshop was held for 4 weeks for 48 students from 5th and 6th grade at Osan Daeho Elementary School. We analyzed this new program's effects with the following results. First, an analysis of the effects of the program on children's recognition of safe and dangerous spaces revealed that their understanding of these spaces increased by 30.4% after the workshop. The safety-related factor in the mind map key concept increased from 0.94 to 4.94, indicating that the children's perception of neighborhood risk and safety factors improved. Second, the analysis of the effects of the program on the children's coping ability in dangerous situations showed that their understanding of how to deal with dangerous situations increased by 11.3%. The children's understanding of facilities they could ask for help, such as police boxes and child safety guard houses, improved by 17.9%. Third, analysis of the effects of child safety map making education on children's understanding of their neighborhood, their perception of responsibility in the neighborhood, and their neighborhood attachment showed that these levels of children's understanding of the neighborhood improved by 6.0% after the workshop.

In Korea, the proportion of self-employed and unpaid family workers is relatively higher than other OECD countries and the operation periods of their businesses are generally shorter than others. This indicates frequent startups and closures and thus unstable employment status and income, which inevitably generates huge social costs. Restaurants are a representative business that self-employed workers easily enter and their 5-year survival rate is found to be lower than 20%. This is shorter survival period than other business sectors. This study aims to examine the associations of transport accessibility with restaurants' survival in Gwangju metropolitan area. Convenient location has been known to be a crucial factor for sales improvements and longer operation and such location is closely linked with good transport accessibility. Results from survival analysis on empirical data show that better access to road networks is significantly associated with longer survival of restaurants though subway accessibility is not. This can be explained by low modal share of subway in the study area and at the same time, requires further case studies where more developed and matured subway systems are in operation.
