A new isolate of Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), identified as Li-CMV was isolated from a diseased Korean native lily (Lithium tsingtauense Gilg). Biological and serological properties of Li-CMV were characterized, and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis, restriction enzyme profiling of RT-PCR products, and nucleotide sequence analysis of RNA3 of the virus were performed in this study. Remarkable differences in symptoms between Li-CMV and ordinary CMV strains were found in tobacco plants and Datura stramonium. Li-CMV-infected tobacco plants (cv. Xanthi-nc and cv. Samsun) induced chlorotic ringspots on uninoculated upper leaves, and the symptom expression was delayed or faint whereas, ordinary CMV strains induced green mosaic symptoms on the plant. Systemic infections were observed on Nicotiana benthamiana with severe mosaic symptom. Restriction mapping analysis of RT-PCR products using MspI showed that Li-CMV belonged to CMV subgroup I. A full-length CDNA copy of RNA3 for the virus was amplified by RT-PCR, cloned, and its complete nucleotide sequence was determined. The RNA3 of Li-CMV was 2, 232 nucleotides long, and consisted of two open reading frames of 843 and 657 bases encoding 3a protein (movement protein) and coat protein, respectively. Results of this study indicate that Li-CMV is a novel strain and belongs to subgroup I of CMV in the genus Cucumovirus.

This study explored differences in how medical and surgical patients compare on the degree of hospital stress and their subjective physical status. Subjects were 343 medical and surgical patients in five university hospitals in Seoul and Taegu. They responded to the Hospital Stress Rating Scale and a self-report on physical status. The controlled variables were age, education, number of previous hospitalizations and seriousness of the illness. Medical and surgical patient differences on nine factors of the hospital stres scale and nine areas of physical conditions were reported as follows edplored : 1. 1) There was not a statistically significant difference at the .05 level in the total mean score for hospital stress between medical patients and surgical patients. 2) The mean score of the factor lack of information (M＝2.308) for medical patients was higher than the mean score (M＝2.064) of the surgical patients. 3) The mean scores of the factor of discomfort (M＝2.130), loss of independence (M＝1.889) for surgical patients were higher than for medical patients. 2. 1) There was a statistically significant difference at the .05 level in the total mean score for physical status between medical patients and surgical patients. 2) The mean scores were lower in subjective physical status for surgical patients(S) than for medical patients (M) ; stomach condition (S : M＝2.8433, M : M＝3.0-000), self-assistance(S : M＝3.0373, M : M＝3.4498), movement (S : M＝2.6716, M : M＝3.2392), interest in your surroundings (S : M＝3.0522, M : M＝3.2632). 3. Patients scoring high on the subjective physical status such as sleep, appetite, stomach condition bowel condition and urination states had higher scores in hospital stress than with patients scoring low on those subjective Physical status. The results suggest that subjective physical status might be on expression of hospital stress. Also patients with high scores in subjective physical statas might be predicted have a high level of stress on admission. And surgical patients had a higher level of hospital stress than medical patients.

The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is the international conventions to acknowledge that persons with disabilities have dignity as human being and to give us duty to make an effort for protection of persons with disabilities' rights. This study deducts several tasks in spatial information field to fulfill the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities effectively. First of all, For the deduction, this study starts by considering accessability, personal movement, freedom of expression and accessability to information. Second, this study defines persons with disabilities as the spatial information what ensure for prior considerations. Third, this study deducts some requirements on spatial information of persons with disabilities on the basis of the survey targeting persons with disabilities and the expert opinion, and suggests objectives, strategies, tasks, systems for effective implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Especially, this study sets up a goal on spatial information establishing strategy of persons with disabilities as 'Disadvantaged groups like persons with disabilities can obtain requirable information without distinction of person, thereby pursuing the convenience of life and improving the quality of life.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how formativeness of shamanism has expressed and developed in modern fashion. Formative expression of shamanism in modern fashion has expressed in the way of on style, color, material and pattern as follows; Style has made animal and human incorporated by expressing abstract animal on the part or whole of costume and it has reconstructed traditional shaman costume into modern costume. Skin colors of living bodies which exist in nature, such as black, blown, yellow and grey, were used to symbolize spirit and low brightness of colors such as blue, white and black were also used to symbolize hyperspace. Artificial materials which imitate animal figure and genuine materials from animal were used. Various natural materials used in traditional shaman costume were also used. Animal patterns and abstract patterns symbolizing the celestial heaven and lower world, and patterns shown on wall painting and rock painting has appeared. The meaning of shamanism in modern fashion can be identified as interchangeable movement of time and space, a cosmic outlook on the world and ration. Spiritually designed costume has made fashion move to hyperspace in spirit trip. Modern fashion with shamanism has expressed its cosmic outlook on the world or universal wish beyond human's real world by patterns such as bird figure which means the celestial heaven and lower world. Corporation and transition of human and animal were symbolized as shaman hypernatural intercourse with designs expressed in costume using a part of animal or animal's characteristics.

The purpose of this study is to comprehend the contemporary sports star fashion and to contemplate aesthetic characteristics of sports star fashion, thereby to establish the styles of sports star fashion. For such purposes, this study first examines aesthetic characteristics of sports fashion and star fashion based on previous studies, in order to analyze aesthetic characteristics of sports star fashion, and conducts a case study by analyzing photographic materials of fashion styles of well-known male sports stars such as the English soccer player David Beckham and American golf player Tiger Woods. The result of this study is as follows: the aesthetic characteristics of the contemporary sports star fashion are virility, functionality, sensuality and deconstruction. (1) Virility emphasizes manly features by displaying trained and disciplined body. (2) Functionality is expressed through structural simplicity and temperance of decoration. High-tech textiles and fibers are favored in order to fit in comfortable bodily movement for the heavy exercises. (3) Sensuality, as an expression of indulgence of sexual pleasure, is expressed through bodily exposure. Lastly, (4) deconstruction, which means destroying existed boundaries of cultural categories, is shown as co-existence of design elements from different times and places, stereotypes and sensibilities. Virility and functionality are prominent characteristics expressed in sports uniforms and training costumes. Sensuality and deconstruction are shown in daily fashion and formal dress outside the sports field.

This study aimed to explore sustainable fashion design plans and directions by analyzing Marine Serre's collection. Previous research was reviewed to derive classifications of the aesthetic characteristics of sustainable fashion design. This classification was then used to analyze the characteristics of the Marine Serre collection. Design analysis was conducted on Marine Serre's 2018 FW to 2023 SS collections. Marine Serre's sustainability characteristics are functionality, surprise, handicraft, and inclusion. The results are as follows. First, functionality is the highest among the four characteristics and includes the functionality of movement, the functionality of form, and futurism. This characteristic was observed in the use of all-in-one body suits, pockets, and workwear, showing the will and values of designers who value daily activity. Second, surprise includes the scarcity of materials and the unexpectedness of composition. The value of the clothing is enhanced by the use of scarce materials not typically used in clothing. In addition, Marine Serre is highly regarded for expanding clothing into life by incorporating material upcycling into the theme of the collection. Third, handcrafted features include exaggerated decorations, logo, retro designs, and natural properties, and intentional utilization is differentiated. Marine Serre's signature pattern suggests a suitable expression for the fabric to use the crescent moon for the season. Fourth, the collection expresses themes of inclusivity and cultural diversity. The results indicate that Marine Serre wants to contribute to a better future characterized by global coexistence.

In the present, animations of auteurism and aestheticism became a unique genre of art that expresses directors' idea. 'Tale of Tales' by Yuri Norstein, a Russian animator, is a paper animation that emphasizes the cut out technique and picturesque feeling as well as complicated structure of sequence in expressing metaphysical themes in the author's historical realism. It is evaluated as unique and creative. The present study analyzed the montage technique applied through the development of several symbolic images, the diachronic expression of contradictory worlds, the unique foreshadow of revealing the causes of results later, rapid repetition of urgent and serious situations, the movement of the camera to express the psychological distance between two characters in different situations and the process of editing. The derived results of this study are expected to be helpful in the works of animators of auteurism and aestheticism.

Purpose: Mobius syndrome is a rare congenital disorder characterized by facial diplegia and bilateral abducens palsy, which occasionally combines with other cranial nerve dysfunction. The inability to show happiness, sadness or anger by facial expression frequently results in social dysfunction. The classic concept of cross facial nerve grafting and free muscle transplantation, which is standard in unilateral developmental facial palsy, cannot be used in these patients without special consideration. Our experience in the treatment of three patients with this syndrome using transfer of muscles innervated by trigeminal nerve showed rewarding results. Methods: We used bilateral temporalis muscle elevated from the bony temporal fossa. Muscles and their attached fascia were folded down over the anterior surface of the zygomatic arch. The divided strips from the attached fascia were passed subcutaneously and anchored to the medial canthus and the nasolabial crease for smiling and competence of mouth and eyelids. For the recent 13 years the authors applied this method in 3 Mobius syndrome cases- 45 year-old man and 13 year-old boy, 8 year-old girl. Results: One month after the surgery the patients had good support and already showed voluntary movement at the corner of their mouth. They showed full closure of both eyelids. There was no scleral showing during eyelid closure. Also full closure of the mouth was achieved. After six months, the reconstructed movements of face were maintained. Conclusion: Temporalis muscle transfer for Mobius syndrome is an excellent method for bilateral reconstruction at one stage, is easy to perform, and has a wide range of reconstruction and reproducibility.

In 1995, When people read a poem, the image that a poet intends to convey to readers shows in various colors according to the status of their emotion. Poetry is a bridge as well as a text, which connects this world and the poet's world. In such relationship, the communication through Types occurs. The realm of application of modern typography is widening due to the development of the Internet and mass media, and the ways of expression of which are changing with the help of lots of softwares. So, the modern typography is re-born as an organic language which is alive, breathing. Therefore, Types has the structural character similar to that of Typography, which is a language of image, creating today's movement, time, and space. The already existing poetry contains meanings but has a descriptive structures. On contrary, compared with the former, the type appeared in Hangul Concrete Poetry., itself is a poem in another realm due to the formality native to Hangul, and which appears in non-linear structure. So, in this thesis, I will analyze the formality and non-linear structure of Hangul Typography in order to widen the realm of research on typography, which is a very meaningful trial to visualize the literature.

In the 1980s, the rapid development of Hong Kong genre films began the myth of Hong Kong's New Wave films, which had a profound impact on Taiwanese films of the same period. Later, two leading film directors, Hou Xiaoxien and Edward Yang, appeared in the process of being influenced by Taiwanese film Ganyu Wave. In this paper, we conducted research on the art style, theme style, film language, and aesthetic narrative methods of films of Hou Xiaoxien and Edward Yang against the backdrop of Taiwan's New Wave era. In addition, the visual characteristics of Taiwan's New Wave films, and the two directors have drawn suggestions on Taiwan's new generation of directors and the Taiwanese film industry, and presented a colorful film creation scheme for the creation and innovation of the new generation of filmmakers.
