We start to develop a predictable technology for thermal-hydraulic performance of the RMWR core using an advanced numerical simulation technology. As a part of this technology development, we are developing the advanced interface tracking method to improve the conservation of volume of fluid. The present paper describes a part of the development of the twophase flow simulation code TPFIT with the advanced interface tracking method. The numerical results applied to large-scale water-vapor two-phase flow in tight lattice rod bundles are shown and compared with experimental results. In the results of numerical simulation, a tendency of the predicted void fraction distribution in horizontal plane agreed with the measured values obtained by the advanced neutron radiography technique including the bridge formation of the liquid at the position of adjacent fuel rods where an interval is the narrowest.
It is difficult to analytically derive a volumetric displacement formula of gerotor hydraulic pump/motor because geometric shape of rotors is complicated. An analytical method about the volumetric displacement is proposed in this work, which is relatively easy and based upon two physical concepts. The first one is energy conservation between hydraulic energy of the pump/motor and mechanical input/output energy. The second concept is torque equilibrium with respect to inner and outer rotors. The formula about the volumetric displacement is derived for the common case of inner and outer rotors rotate with respect to fixed axes. The formula is verified by comparing another analytical displacement formula, and it is numerically verified by comparing numerical results, which is calculated for geometric specification of a motor. The numerical displacement is calculated through CAD software program and MATLAB program. The proposed analytical formula can be utilized in analysis and design of hydraulic gerotor motors.

The purpose of this study is performance validation of district heating apartments about heating energy consumption and analysis of energy consumption by unit characteristics. The heating energy consumption of the existing apartments was analyzed and the analyzed results will be used for energy saving technology development and policy making. The heating energy consumption data about total 78 apartment complexes, 56,910 units in Gangnam-Gu, Seoul, Korea were investigated from October, 2010 to April 2011. The analysis results are as follows; The mean heating energy consumption is 98[kWh/m2]. The energy consumption of Apgujung-Dong, Daechi-Dong is higher than that of mean valuse. The energy consumption deviation by deterioration, unit area, core type and regional group is very high. Specially, building deterioration casts a long shadow.

In today's world, we find ourselves facing energy crises due to factors such as war and climate crises. To prepare for these energy crises, many researchers continue to study systems related to energy monitoring and conservation, such as energy management systems, energy monitoring, and energy conservation. In line with these efforts, nations are making it mandatory for energy-consuming facilities to implement these systems. However, these facilities, limited by space and energy constraints, are exploring ways to improve. This research explores the operation of a data collection system using low-performance embedded devices. In this context, it proves that an optimized version of RocksDB, a Key-Value store, outperforms traditional databases when it comes to time-series data. Furthermore, a comprehensive database evaluation tool was employed to assess various databases, including optimized RocksDB and regular RocksDB. In addition, heterogeneous databases and evaluations are conducted using a UD Benchmark tool to evaluate them. As a result, we were able to see that on devices with low performance, the time required was up to 11 times shorter than that of other databases.

Liquid pressure amplifiers have been proposed as an energy saving technology for vapor compression refrigeration systems configured with direct-expansion evaporators. The technology utilizes a refrigerant pump in the high pressure liquid line as a means of maintaining a suitable pressure differential across the expansion valve while lowering condensing pressure to achieve the reduction of compressor energy consumption. Applications have been proposed on systems ranging from small unitary air-conditioning to large supermarket and commercial refrigeration systems. This paper clarifies the role of such a device in a vapor compression refrigeration system. Limitations are presented and discussed. Finally, results of detailed analyses are presented to quantify the energy consumption both with and without a liquid pressure amplifier in a unitary air conditioning system. The estimated energy savings associated with the installation of a liquid pressure amplifier are minimal.

Due to global issues such as climate crisis and rising energy costs, there is an increasing focus on energy conservation and management. In the case of South Korea, approximately 53.5% of the total energy consumption comes from industrial complexes. In order to address this, we aimed to improve issues through the 'Shared Network Utility Plant' among companies using similar energy utilities to find energy-saving points. For effective energy conservation, various techniques are utilized, and stable data supply is crucial for the reliable operation of factories. Many anomaly detection and alert systems for checking the stability of data supply were dependent on Energy Management Systems (EMS), which had limitations. The construction of an EMS involves large-scale systems, making it difficult to implement in small factories with spatial and energy constraints. In this paper, we aim to overcome these challenges by constructing a data collection system and anomaly detection alert system on embedded devices that consume minimal space and power. We explore the possibilities of utilizing anomaly detection alert systems in typical institutions for data collection and study the construction process.
Recently, Energy savings in buildings has received much attention in response to the increased needs for global warming and better comforts of the occupants in apartment housing. This study proposes the method which uses the sun control window film to reduce the cooling load and heating load improving the thermal performance of the building and it improves an energy efficiency. The film which used in actual measurement has a low shading coefficient and a solar energy transmission. so we measured the surface temperature of the triple Low-e glazing system used and inside temperature according to the change of outside temperature and solar energy to study thermal performance evaluation. As a result, it was helpful to use window film insulation to reduce inside temperature in summer and to keep room warm in winter.
In this study, a complete set of recirculating cooling water system and the required instruments were built in a semi-industrial-scale and a 50 g/h ozone generation plant and a chlorine system were designed for cooling water treatment. Both chlorination and ozonation treatment methods were studied and the results were analyzed during two 45-days periods. The concentrations of ozone and chlorine in recirculating water were constant at 0.1 mg/lit and 0.6 mg/lit, respectively. In ozone treatment, by increasing the concentration cycle to 33%, the total water consumption decreased by 26% while 11.5% higher energy efficiency achieved thanks to a better elimination of bio-films. In case of Carbon Steel, the corrosion rate reached to 0.012 mm/yr and 0.025 mm/yr for the ozonation and chlorination processes, respectively. Furthermore, consumptions of the anti-corrosion and anti-sedimentation materials in the ozone cooling water treatment were reduced about 60% without using any oxidant and non-oxidant biocides. No significant changes in sediment load were seen in ozonation compared to chlorination. The Chemical Oxygen Demand of the blow-down in ozonation method decreased to one-sixth of that in the chlorination method. Moreover, the soluble iron and water turbidity in the ozonation method were reduced by 97.5% and 70%, respectively. Although no anaerobic bacteria were seen in the cooling water at the proper concentration range of ozone and chlorine, the aerobic bacteria in chlorine and ozone treatment methods were 900 and 200 CFU/ml, respectively. The results showed that the payback time for the ozone treatment is about 2.6 years.
It is difficult to analytically derive a volumetric displacement formula for a gerotor hydraulic motor due to the complexity of the geometric shape of its gear lobes. This work proposes an analytical method for the volumetric displacement, a relatively easy method based upon two physical concepts: conservation between hydraulic energy and mechanical shaft energy, and torque equilibrium for the rotor's motion. The first research using these concepts was conducted on inner and outer rotors rotating with respect to each rotor axis. This work represents the second report conducted on an inner rotor revolving as a planetary motion on the stationary outer rotor. The formula equations regarding the volumetric displacement and flow rate are derived, and the proposed formula about the volumetric displacement is proven to be the same as another analytical displacement formula: the so-called vane length method. From the formula, volumetric displacement is calculated for an example geometry of the gear lobes. The resultant displacement is confirmed to be the same as the value calculated from the chamber volume method. The proposed analytical formula can be utilized in the analysis and design of gerotor hydraulic motors. Because it is based on torque equilibrium, this formula can provide a better understanding of torque performance, such as torque ripple, in designing a gerotor type motor.
