A Method of Plotting Component A Scaled Waveform for Aircraft Lightning Test (항공기 낙뢰 시험을 위한 Component A 축소 파형 도식화 방법)

  • Lightning can deliver large amounts of energy to the aircraft in a short period of time, resulting in catastrophic consequence. In particular, lightning strikes accompanied by high temperature heat and current can damage aircraft surface and internal electronic equipment, seriously affecting flight safety. Lightning experiments to analyze this effect use a Component A waveform with a maximum current of 200 kA as specified in SAE ARP 5412B. However, the actual lightning occurs mostly below 35kA and lightning indirect tests are conducted by reducing waveforms to prevent damage to internal electronic equipment. In this study, we examine previous methods to plot the Component A reduced waveform and identify their limitations. We then propose a new method to plot the reduced waveform based on adjusting the correction factor of the aircraft lightning Component A waveform. Finally, the electromagnetic analysis software EMA3D was used to compare the internal induced current size reduction ratio of the internal cable harness of the EC-155B helicopter.

  • As the European Community's Directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment banning lead (Pb) in electronics products will take effect on July 1, 2006, most electronics manufacturers will be commencing with volume production of Pb-free components by the middle of 2004. Electrodeposited pure tin finishes on electronic components are a leading contender to replace the industry standard tin-lead. Commensurate with this shift will be a somewhat steep learning curve as manufacturers adapt a variety of equipment and processes to contend with the issues surrounding this critical, industry-wide material conversion. Since the electrodeposited finish directly influences the critical reliability characteristics of the component itself, the nature of the Pb-free component finish must be well characterized and understood. Only through a thorough examination of the attributes of the electroplated tin deposit can critical decisions be made regarding component finish reliability. This paper investigates the properties of electrodeposited tin that may have an effect on component reliability, namely, grain structure (size and shape), oxide formation, tin whisker formation, and solderability. Data will be presented from laboratory and production settings, with the objective being to enable manufacturers to draw their own conclusions regarding previously established perceptions and misconceptions about electrodeposited tin properties.

Ultrasound Harmonic Imaging Method based on Harmonic Quadrature Demodulation (하모닉 직교 방식의 초음파 고조파 영상화 기법)

  • A harmonic quadrature demodulation method to extract the second harmonic component from focused ultrasound signals after a single transmit-receive event is proposed. In the proposed method, the focused ultrasound signal is converted into baseband inphase and quadrature components by multiplying with sine and cosine signals both having twice the center frequency of the transmitted signal and filtering the two modulated signals. The quadrature component is then passed through a Hilbert filter to be added to the inphase component, which leaves only the envelope of the second harmonic component. A novel phase estimation technique is employed in the proposed method to avoid the phase mismatch between the focused signal and the two modulating signals. The proposed method is verified through both theoretical analysis and computer simulations. It is shown that compared to the pulse inversion scheme the proposed method provides almost the same results for stationary targets and significantly improved harmonic to fundamental ratio for moving targets.

Sensitivity Analysis of the 217PlusTM Component Models for Reliability Prediction of Electronic Systems (전자 시스템 신뢰도 예측을 위한 217PlusTM 부품모형의 민감도 분석)

  • MIL-HDBK-217 has played a pivotal role in reliability prediction of electronic equipments for more than 30 years. Recently, RIAC developed a new methodology $217Plus^{TM}$which officially replaces MIL-HDBK-217. Sensitivity analysis of the 217Plus component models to various parameters has been performed and meaningful observations have been drawn in this study. We first briefly reviewed the $217Plus^{TM}$ methodolog and compared it with the conventional model, MIL-HDBK-217. We then performed sensitivity analysis $217Plus^{TM}$ component models to various parameters. Based on the six parameters and an orthogonal array selected, we have performed indepth analyses concerning parameter effects on the model. Our result indicates that, among various parameters, operating temperature and temperature rise during operation have the most significant impacts on the life of a component, and thus a design robust to high temperature is the most importantly required. Next, year of manufacture, duty cycle, and voltage stress are weaker but may be significant when they are in heavy load conditions. Although our study is restricted to a specific type of diodes, the results are still valid to other cases. The results in this study not only figure out the behavior of the predicted failure rate as a function of parameters but provide meaningful guidelines for practical applications.

  • Electronic commerce part is changing rapidly for more efficient service support according to customer's inclination and request which pass over the time and space. That is, It was considered in customer's side that process and management of content by various articles, and component base development was considered in side of developer and administrator to operate this effectively. So, electronic commerce system need component based development that can be coped with efficient and active it and goods contents management to customers various inclination. Thus, in this research we implemented goods purchase system based on EJB(Enterprise Java Beans) of sewer side component mode. That is, each function part from goods contents to purchase is implemented to component which is independent execution module. Accordingly, component which is independence function part can cope actively in process of contents that change variously.

  • We have successfully fabricated high aspect-ratio GaN-based nanowires on Si substrates using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) system for high-efficiency hydrogen generation of photoelectrochemical water splitting. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) demonstrated that p-GaN:Mg and p-InGaN nanowires were grown vertically on the substrate with high density. Furthermore, it was also confirmed that the emission wavelength of p-InGaN nanowire can be adjusted from 552 nm to 590 nm. Such high-aspect ratio p-InGaN nanowire structure will be a solid foundation for the realization of ultrahigh-efficiency photoelectrochemical water splitting through sunlight.

Analysis on the Property Modification in Solution-processed SnZnO Through Composition Ratio Controlling (용액 공정으로 제작된 주석-아연 산화물의 조성 변화에 따른 특성 변화 분석)

  • In this paper, the properties of SnZnO films obtained from solution process with different component fractions were compared. The thermal behavior of the SnZnO solutions showed only a slight change according to the component fraction change. However, the definite changes were revealed at the structural properties of the SnZnO films. With diverse analyses, the origin of the changes was proved to the influence of phase change from $SnO_2$ to ZnO in SnZnO lattice. With the $SnO_2$-phase-dominant SnZnO, the highest field effect mobility and on/off ratio of about 8.6 $cm^2/Vs$ and $2{\times}10^8$ were achieved, respectively.

  • The increase of vehicles stagnations leads to the increasing attention to the way customers pay and a large number of projects on electronic cash system. Transport system is comprised of a number of advanced technologies, including information processing, communications, control, and electronics. Recently many research on a system which provides contact in order to protect driver's vehicle passage have been carried out. And some potential problems from that system are being reviewed by electronic cash system. In this papers, we suggest RF protocol developing technology using the concept of electronic cash. ATM electronic cash developing is consist of component of pre-developed coin throw, integration of component using its, and production of more requirement-satisfactory ITS solution. Result increase 15~40% pre-type vehicles stagnations. Especially, we expect this proposed concept would be well adapted to our national environments.

Frequency Analysis and Reduction of Electronic Noise in ESS (ESS의 전자 잡음 주파수 분석 및 제거)

  • This paper is a study on frequency analysis and electronic noise reduction of energy storage system (ESS). We acquired 4 necessary data for about 2 minutes and 4 seconds using a sampling frequency of 10,000 Hz in ESS. Fast Fourier transform (FFT) was used for electronic noise analysis from the acquired data. As a result, it was confirmed that DC component, fundamental wave, second and higher harmonic component exist. For the attenuation of harmonics, low-pass filter (LPF) was applied. We confirmed that an attenuation of approximately 59.3% appears from the second harmonic. The presence of many harmonic components in the data of the ESS was expected to occur due to the insufficiency of optimization among the modules inside the ESS. Therefore, we propose that a national certification system for ESS should be introduced to settle down the issue properly.

  • This paper aimed at collecting sensor signals to extract characteristic parameter of the rotor. A vibration test rig has been developed to perform model tests. Signal characteristics were analyzed when driving normally. Envelope FFT Analysis is used to extract vibration components caused by periodic impacts from other vibration factors. Signal analysis was performed when load changes were given to speed sensors and vibration test rigs that show low frequency characteristics of the rotor and signal analysis according to rotational speed. The acceleration signal measured in the bearing housing has a small amplitude and produces only the rotational frequency component and harmonic component of the motor. As the number of rotations increases, the amplitude of acceleration can be seen. As the rotational speed increases, it can be seen that there is a difference in the shape of the original data and compared with the acceleration FFT graph, it can be seen that the noise is strong at low frequencies and the corresponding rotational frequency components are clearly represented. It can be seen that changing the load does not increase the main rotational frequency component.
