양극산화법으로 제작한 TiO2 나노튜브 박막의 구조 및 광전기화학 특성 분석 (Study on the Structure and Photoelectrochemical Properties of Anodized TiO2 Nanotube Films)

  • Vertically-aligned $TiO_2$ nanotube electrodes have attracted considerable attention for applications in solar cells, catalysts, and sensors, because of their ideal structure for electron transport and electrolyte diffusion. Here, we prepare vertically-aligned $TiO_2$ nanotube electrodes using a two-step anodization process. The prepared $TiO_2$ nanotube electrodes exhibit uniform pore structures with an inner diameter of ~80-90 nm and wall thickness of ~20-25 nm. In addition, they exhibit an anatase crystal phase after a high-temperature annealing. The annealed $TiO_2$ nanotube electrodes are applied in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) as photoanodes. The fabricated DSSC exhibits conversion efficiencies of 3.46 and 2.15% with liquid- and gel-type electrolytes, respectively.

Varification of Phase Defect Correctability of Nano-structured Multilayer for EUV Reflection

  • Ru interfacial layer was inserted into Mo-on-Si interface to enhance the extreme ultra-violet (EUV) reflective multilayer properties. The stacking status and optical properties are analyzed using cross-sectional transmission electron microscope (TEM), and reflectometer. About 1.5% of maximum reflectivity can be acquired as predicted in optical simulation, which is thought to be originated from the diffusion inhibition property. Phase defect correctability of the multilayer can be enhanced by the insertion of Ru barrier layer.

A Kinetic Investigation of Ethanol Oxidation on a Nickel Oxyhydroxide Electrode

  • Nickel modified NiOOH electrodes were used for the electrocatalytic oxidation of ethanol in alkaline solutions where the methods of cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronoamperometry (CA) were employed. In CV studies, in the presence of ethanol, an increase in the current for the oxidation of nickel hydroxide is followed by a decrease in the corresponding cathodic current. This suggests that the oxidation of ethanol is being catalysed through mediated electron transfer across the nickel hydroxide layer comprising of nickel ions of various valence states. Under the CA regime the reaction followed a Cottrellian behavior and the diffusion coefficient of ethanol was found to be $1{\times}10^7cm^2s^{-1}$.

  • A fully integrable InP/InGaAs HPT with an ITO emitter contact was first fabricated by employing a $SiO_2$ passivation layer. The electrical and the optical characteristics of the HPT with a passivation layer were measured and compared with those of the HPT without a passivation layer. The only noticeable difference was the increased emitter series resistance of the HPT with a passivation layer. AES analysis was performed to explain the reason of the increased emitter series resistance. Results show that PECVD $SiO_2$ deposition and annealing processes cause the diffusion of oxygen to the interface and the depletion of tin at the interface, which may be responsible for the increase of the series resistance.

The Characterization of Mn Based Self-forming Barriers on low-k Samples with or without UV Curing Treatment

  • In this present work, we report a Cu-Mn alloy as a materials for the self-forming barrier process. And we investigated diffusion barrier properties of self-formed layer on low-k dielectrics with or without UV curing treatment. Cu alloy films were directly deposited onto low-k dielectrics by co-sputtering, followed by annealing at various temperatures. X-ray diffraction revealed Cu (111), Cu (200) and Cu (220) peaks for both of Cu alloys. The self-formed layers were investigated by transmission electron microscopy. In order to compare barrier properties between Mn-based interlayer interlayer, thermal stability was measured with various low-k dielectrics. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis showed that chemical compositions of self-formed layer. The compositions of the Mn based self-formed barriers after annealing were determined by the C concentration in the dielectric layers.

전자현미분석중 발생하는 스틸프로멜레인의 K 이동 현상 (Electron-beam Induced K Diffusion in Stilpnomelane During Electronprobe Microanalyzer Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 전자현미분석기를 이용한 스틸프로멜레인의 분석시 발생하는 K 이동현상을 체계적으로 조사하였다. 분석시료가 전자빔에 오래 노출될 경우 K이 주변으로부터 이동하여 K 함량이 높게 측정되는 경향이 있다. 가속전압과 빔전류를 낮추고 전자빔 크기를 크게 할 경우 일반적으로 K의 이동은 줄어드는 경향을 보여준다. 실험결과에 의하면 5-$\mu\textrm{m}$ 이상 크기의 전자빔을 사용하고 15kV의 가속전압 및 3nA의 빔전류 조건에서 분석할 경우 비교적 정확한 K 함량을 측정할 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 전자현미분석기를 사용하여 스틸프노멜레인의 K 함량을 측정하는 경우 K이 모이지 않도록 주의해야 하며, 스틸플로멜레인의 분석결과를 보고하는 경우에는 분석시 사용된 전자현미분석기의 조건도 함께 나타내는 것이 바람직하다.

  • The soft reverse recovery characteristics of P-I-N power diodes by different lifetime killer were compared in this paper. It was concluded that the best local lifetime control at N- base was achieved through the optimization of penetrated depth into the wafer by 5 MeV proton irradiation, resulting in significant soft recovery performance in our study. The results of 5∼12 MeV electron irradiation and platinum diffusion were also discussed here.

  • We synthesized polypyrrole (PPy) by electrolysis of the pyrrole monomer solution containing support electrolyte KCl and/or p-toluene sulfonic acid sodium salt (p-TS). The electrochemical behavior was investigated using cyclic voltammetry and AC impedance. In the case of using electrolyte p-TS, the redox potential was about -0.3 V vs. Ag/ AgCl reference electrode, while the potential was about 0 V for using electrolyte KCl. It is considered as the backbone forms a queue effectively by doping p-TS Therefore, it is possible to be arranged regularly. That leads to improvement in the electron hopping. The AC impedance plot gave a hint of betterment of mass transport. PPy doped with p-TS has improved in mass transport, or diffusion. That is because the PPy doped with p-TS has a good orientation, and is more porous than PPy with KCl.

EPIG 표면처리에서의 무전해 팔라듐 피막 특성 및 확산에 관한 연구 (A Study on electroless palladium layer characteristics and its diffusion in the electroless palladium immersion gold(EPIG) surface treatment)

  • 본 연구에서는 고신뢰성 인쇄회로기판이나 플립칩 패키지에 적용되는 범프 표면처리에서 널리 사용되는, ENIG나 ENEPIG 대체를 위한 electroless Pd/immersion Au(EPIG)에 대하여 연구하였다. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) 분석 결과 형성된 Au layer는 crystalline, Pd layer는 amorphous 임을 확인하였으며, 열처리 후 X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)를 통하여 EPIG층이 하부 copper의 확산방지막으로서 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 비정질 Pd layer가 확산을 방지하기 위하여는 일정수준 이상의 두께가 필요하며, 그 두께는 35~65nm 수준임을 알 수 있었다.

  • Titanium and its alloys have excellent corrosion resistance, high strength to weight ratios and high temperature creep properties, which make them using many various fields of application. Responding to these needs, welding processes for titanium are also being used including TIG, MIG, resistance welding, plasma arc welding, diffusion welding, electron beam welding and laser welding. In this study, It is possible to get sound beads without humping bead and spatter with the decrease of peak power according to increase of pulse width and change of welding speed for heat input control at pulsed Nd:YAG laser welding of titanium plates for Lap welding.
