Purpose: Corporate management is under pressure to contribute to social values beyond profit-seeking, and interest in ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) is increasing worldwide. In the recent global climate change crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of non-financial values such as ESG is increasing. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to prepare a strategy for future ESG management activities by analyzing the impact of it on corporate performance by food companies. Research design, data and methodology: ESG-related research trends, ESG activities, and corporate performance were analyzed. After that, a regression analysis was conducted to identify the relationship between ESG evaluation grade and corporate performance. Result: ESG management activities measured by ESG scores did not significantly affect the return on assets, one of the variables of corporate performance. However, as a result of setting the return on equity as a dependent variable, ESG management activities have a nonlinear relationship with corporate performance, and ESG management activities have a positive effect on corporate performance when investment in ESG management activities is reasonable. Conclusions: These results show that food companies should engage in an appropriate level of ESG management activities to improve corporate performance.
Purposes: This study explored the difference analysis of financial performance and technological innovation according to the ESG management activities of healthcare companies based on the time before and after the mandatory ESG management reporting of listed Chinese healthcare companies in China. Methodology: This study collected ESG management activities, corporate financial performance, and technological innovation data of Chinese listed healthcare companies by using Bloomberg Database and China-listed company reports to collect data for analyzing differences between groups through T-test. Findings: ESG activities in the healthcare industry have a certain impact on corporate financial performance, but have no impact on corporate technological innovation. Like the world trend, the ESG activities and financial results of China's healthcare industry have shown a positive development direction in recent years, and ESG scores are rising. Practical Implication: Since 2018, ESG activities in China's healthcare industry have flourished, and ESG activities and financial performance have developed in a positive direction.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to look at the current status and cases of ESG at home and abroad, and through this, seek ways to activate the ESG strategy of domestic SMEs and suggest a direction. Research design, data and methodology: This study examines the current status of ESG management at home and abroad and examples of companies through related literature on ESG management and performance. Through this, the strategic direction of ESG management of domestic SMEs was presented. Results: Compared to the government and major corporations, SMEs can be said to lack ESG management activities. This study aims to examine the impact of ESG management on management performance based on the type of organizational culture in Korean shipping and logistics companies. An online survey was conducted among shipping lines (regular and irregular) and general logistics companies with sales of more than 500 billion won that are implementing ESG management. A total of 183 copies were returned, and PLS structural equation analysis was conducted using the Smart PLS 4.0 program. The results of the study are as follows First. Governance management activities have a significant effect on business performance, social management activities have a significant effect on innovation culture, governance management activities have a significant effect on innovation culture, environmental management activities have a significant effect on hierarchical culture, and governance management activities have a significant effect on hierarchical culture. Contributions of this study First, this study analyzes the impact of ESG management activities on management performance of Korean shipping and logistics companies. Second, this study collected data through a questionnaire survey. The data were analyzed to determine the effect of ESG management activities on management performance. The data was analyzed to determine the level of ESG-related activities and business performance of companies and used to analyze the correlation between ESG management activities and business performance. Third, the results of the study suggest that companies can recognize that ESG management can help them improve their business performance. This can help companies build sustainable management strategies and further strengthen their management orientation to consider ESG factors.
Purpose - This study is aim to stimulate ESG management of SMEs in Korea with SWOT analysis. Presently, ESG is also affecting a company's supply chain and sales. We tried to make the complementary point of Korea SMEs through domestic and foreign cases. Design/methodology/approach - We divide foreign cases into three countries, and in Korea, also divide into three groups of government, major companies, SMEs to conduct SWOT analysis. Findings - We confirmed that ESG activities were delayed in Korea compared to overseas, but the government and major companies were responding quickly. However, SMEs are complaining of difficulties in ESG activities due to cost issues and limited information. Nevertheless, some SMEs companies show the possibility by carrying out ESG activities based on their own strengths. Research implications or Originality - We suggested the need for SMEs' ESG management. The SMEs are inevitably vulnerable to ESG management compared to other groups. Therefore, We suggested the direction of SMEs ESG management expansion, that are R&D and distribution of eco-friendly activities through collaboration with universities(E), social program to improve working places(S), and expansion of governance that guarantees autonomy(G).
This study attempted to investigate how corporate ESG practice affects management performance. To this end, the effect of environmental responsibility activities, social responsibility activities, and governance activities in terms of environment (E), social (S), and governance (G), which are the three elements of ESG, on management performance, mediating organizational effectiveness, and controlling corporate value perception, were empirically analyzed. The analysis results are as follows. First, environmental responsibility activities, social responsibility activities, and governance activities all had a positive (+) effect on management performance. Second, environmental responsibility activities, social responsibility activities, and governance activities all had a positive (+) effect on organizational effectiveness. Third, it was found that organizational effectiveness plays a partial mediating role between environmental responsibility activities, social responsibility activities, governance activities, and management performance. Fourth, it was found that corporate value perception has a moderating effect on environmental responsibility activities and governance activities, excluding social responsibility activities. Therefore, strengthening ESG practice will not only be essential for investment, but also help improve management performance. In addition, the results of this study suggest that ESG education for members should be strengthened to promote ESG practice, and it is necessary to re-establish management strategies so that corporate values reflect ESG.

This study focused on analyzing the difference in the impact of non-financial performance, specifically ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activity grade level, on management performance and corporate value among the 25 fashion companies listed on the Korea Exchange that completed their ESG evaluation in 2022. The companies were categorized into three levels based on their ESG evaluations: ESG Integrated Grade (ESG-T), ESG-E (Environmental), ESG-S (Social), and ESG-G (Governance). The study then empirically analyzed how these levels affected management performance and corporate value. The empirical analysis revealed significant differences in the impact on management performance and corporate value depending on the ESG activity grade level. Companies with higher ESG grades exhibited better management performance and higher corporate values across all ESG sub-variables (ESG-T, ESG-E, ESG-S, ESG-G) compared to those with lower grades. This finding demonstrates the influence of ESG activity grade levels on improving management performance and enhancing corporate value in fashion companies. The results of this research provide meaningful insights into the direction of sustainable management through ESG activities in fashion companies.

Recently, our society and environment has changed rapidly due to the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus. In this rapidly changing environment, companies fulfill their social responsibilities and require non-financial elements of transparent management activities. ESG has become one of the non-financial factors, and interest of ESG management is increasing worldwide. In this paper, we examine the importance of ESG concept and ESG management performance and the correlation with companies, and examine the necessity of ESG management for companies in the future. The literature reviews are conducted on CU which is currently best practicing ESG management through various secondary data. Also, we used interview articles so that reflect the rich voice of the distribution industry. In addition, after examining ESG characteristics through examples of global companies, we looked at BGF Retail's CU convenience store ESG activities, which is a leader in ESG management, in distribution industry. CU was divided into all sectors of E, S, and G, and all sectors were actively engaged in activities and flexibly coping with changing environments and social needs. In particular, it was confirmed that CU's environmental management, which focuses the most, achieved successful results due to the increase in actual consumption of customers. ESG management activities at CU convenience stores are currently ongoing and future tasks. As a leading company in ESG management in the current industry, it is meaningful to understand the process of growing into a company that shares concerns, efforts, and practical activities and fulfills social responsibility. Through this study, the changes and growth of CU and domestic companies to ESG and sustainable management are expected in the futures.
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management may be one of the recent hot topics in corporate management. The purpose of this paper was to study the level of ESG activities of shipping companies. The shipping industry is known to have low transparency and low favorability (Yun, 2022). This study determined whether ESG activities of shipping companies known to the public or studied qualitatively were consistent with objective facts through quantitative analysis. Analysis was conducted on 8,009 firm-year KOSP I listed companies from 2010 to 2022 using ESG ratings evaluated and published by KCGS. As a result of the analysis, it was found that shipping companies had a lower level of ESG activities than non-shipping companies. Although many research studies have been done on companies' ESG activities, research on corporate social responsibility activities and ESG activities of domestic shipping companies is limited. This paper is significant in that it is the first study to quantitatively analyze ESG management status of domestic shipping companies. Shipping companies should make efforts to improve their images, improve their business performances, and increase corporate sustainability by taking the lead in proactive ESG activities rather than performing passive ESG activities due to external regulations such as IMO 2020 and IMO 2050.

This study is a leading case of empirical analysis of whether, when corporate stakeholders (government, investors, customers, managers, employees) put pressure on companies for ESG management, it affects the introduction and implementation of ESG activities (environmental, social, governance) and affects business performance. As for the research method, a sustainability report was published, and a web survey of Korea Research Inc. was conducted from May 10 to May 20, 2022 targeting ESG management managers of 192 companies, and analyzed through the PLS structural equation model. As a result of the study, it was found that the introduction and execution of ESG is closely influenced by the pressure from the government, investors, managers, and employees, and in particular, the internal pressure of current managers and executives and employees has a great impact on the introduction and implementation of environmental, social, and governance activities. In particular, although external pressure also has some influence, it is practical to suggest that strong internal pressure is necessary for continuous activities and performance. And, methodologically, the main activity indicators of the GRI Reporting Guidelines, which are the most representative ESG management indicators, were developed as a questionnaire, and reliability, validity, and model fit were secured through comparison with indicators of multiple systems and expert reviews. The limitations of this study are that more in-depth analysis by industry or size is possible when ESG management is mature and sufficient samples are secured, and complex ESG pressure factor modeling is possible when more diverse stakeholders are added.
