Task Rescheduling Using a Coordinator in a Structural Decentralized Control of Supervisory Control Systems

  • A problem of task rescheduling using a coordinator in a structural decentralized control of supervisory control theory is formulated. we consider that the overall system is divided into a number of local systems. Using an example of a chemical batch reaction process, it has shown that after local supervisors have been established for a given task, a coordinator can be used to solve some rescheduling problems among local plants for new or modified tasks. The coordination system models the interactions of local plants, and is consisting of only the shared events of local plants, so simpler to synthesize. A coordinator is designed based on the specifications given for the coordination system. Under the 'structural' conditions developed in this paper, the combined concurrent actions of the coordinator with the existing local supervisors will achieve the rescheduling requirements. Again since the conditions are structural (not specification-dependent), once the coordination architecture has been established, it can be used for a number of different tasks without further verifications.

I/O 집약적인 응용의 시뮬레이션 방법론 (A Methodology to Simulate I/O-Intensive Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 자료 집약적인 분산 또는 병렬 응용의 시뮬레이터들과, 정확도에 대하여 사용자가 정의한 요구 조건이 주어지는 경우에 그 조건을 만족하는 방법들 중에서 가장 효율적인 것을 선택하게 하는 방법론을 제시하고자 한다. 이 방법론은 응용 프로그램의 속성을 기반으로 적당한 시뮬레이션을 선택하는 일련의 시험들로 구성되어 있다. 그리고, 각 시뮬레이터는 응용 프로그램의 실행시간의 두 가지 측정치들, 최소기대 시간과 최대 기대 시간을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 현존하는 응용 프로그램들에 이 방법론을 적용한 결과를 제시하고, 각 응용 프로그램의 실행시간보다 수십에서 수백배 빠르면서도 정확하게 그 응용을 시뮬레이션 할 수 있다는 것을 보인다.

  • 본 논문에서는 유한페트리넷의 도달가능성에 대한 효율적인 분석방법을 제안한다. 일반적으로 도달가능성 분석은 유한페트리넷의 동적 성질에 관한 연구에 있어서 가장 근본이 되는 분석중의 하나이다. 그러나 일반적인 유한페트리넷의 경우, 도달가능성 분석은 분석시간과 요구되는 메모리 양의 측면에서 지수승의 복잡도를 요구하게 되며 많은 경우 상태공간폭발 문제를 야기할 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 유한페트리넷의 분석을 위한 중간모델인 언폴딩(unfolding)상에서 장소(place)간의 구조관계 분석을 통하여 시간 및 메모리의 측면에서 효율적으로 도달가능성 분석을 수행하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 구조적 제약 없이 모든 종류의 유한페트리넷에 적용 가능하다.

조선소 야드 블록 물류 시뮬레이션을 위한 GIS 정보 체계 연구 (A Study on GIS Information System for Shipbuilding Yard Block Logistics Simulation)

  • These days, geographic information system has released in everyday life and industries. However, the shipyard only uses it to manage the layout of the yard. In this study, we apply the Geographic Information System to shipbuilding block logistics simulation to analyse the behavior of bogies and forklifts carrying blocks and materials in the shipyard. The shipyard manages daily block logistics plans at the execution planning stage. However, since it is a daily plan, it is difficult to respond to an unexpected situation immediately, and application to judge a certain value or higher value is insufficient. Therefore, a simulation model was created using the shape and attribute information inherent in the geographic information system to verify and improve the block logistics of the mid-and long-term yards. Through this simulation model, we will analyse loads on the workplace, stockyard, and road, and contribute to overall logistics improvement from the point of view of resource planning. In addition, the results of the simulation are reflected in the planning, to help support various decisions.

고속 시뮬레이션을 위한 모델합성 방법 (Model Composition Methodology for High Speed Simulation)

  • DEVS 형식론은 이산사건 시스템의 구조를 계층적으로 나타낼 수 있기 때문에 복잡한 시스템을 모델링 하기에 적합하며, 가독성이 좋기 때문에 유지 보수에 유리한 장점이 있다. 반면에, 계층적인 모델의 구조는 시뮬레이션 실행 시에 빈번한 메시지 전달을 야기 시켜 시뮬레이션 속도가 저하되는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 계층적인 DEVS 모델들을 하나로 합성하여 빈번한 메시지 전달을 방지하고 시뮬레이션 실행 속도를 개선할 수 있는 모델 합성법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 시뮬레이터 실행코드를 생성하기 이전에 구성 모델들 간의 메시지 전달 관계를 해석하여 실행시간에는 모델 해석과정을 생략하도록 하는 기법으로 기존의 모델 수평화 기법보다 훨씬 뛰어난 속도 향상 결과를 보인다. 제안한 방법의 효용성을 보이기 위해 실험을 통하여 시뮬레이션 속도가 18배 정도 개선될 수 있음을 보인다.

  • With the growing usage of the networks, the world-wide Internet has become the main means to exchange data and carry out transactions. It has also become the main means to attack hosts. To solve the security problems which occur in the network such as Internet, we import software products of network security elements like an IDS (Intrusion Detection System) and a firewall. In this paper, we have designed and constructed the general simulation environment of network security model composed of multiple IDSes and a firewall which coordinate by CNP (Contract Net Protocol) for the effective detection of the intrusion. The CNP, the methodology for efficient integration of computer systems on heterogeneous environment such as distributed systems, is essentially a collection of agents, which cooperate to resolve a problem. Command console in the CNP is a manager who controls the execution of agents or a contractee, who performs intrusion detection. In the network security model, each model of simulation environment is hierarchically designed by DEVS(Discrete Event system Specification) formalism. The purpose of this simulation is that the application of rete pattern-matching algorithm speeds up the inference cycle phases of the intrusion detection expert system and we evaluate the characteristics and performance of CNP architecture with rete pattern-matching algorithm.

잠수함의 표적기동분석 시뮬레이션을 위한 전술처리기의 구현 (Implementation of a tactic manager for the target motion analysis simulation of a submarine)

  • 본 연구에서는 시뮬레이션을 통하여 다양한 전술에 따른 효과를 예측할 수 있도록 모델과 분리된 전술처리기의 개념에 대해서 연구하였다. 테이블 방식으로 전술을 정의하고 이를 처리할 수 있는 전술처리기를 시험적으로 구현하였으며 잠수함 대 수상함 교전 시의 표적기동분석 시뮬레이션 예제에 적용하여 그 효용성을 검증하였다. 개발된 전술처리기를 이용하면 향후 전술이 변경되더라도 모델을 수정하지 않고 전술 정의 파일만 외부에서 수정하여 입력함으로써 원하는 시뮬레이션 결과를 얻을 수 있는 장점이 있다.

네트워크 보안을 위한 침입차단 시스템과 운영체제 보안 기능 모델링 및 시뮬레이션 (Modeling and Simulation of Firewall System and Security Functions of Operating System for Network Security)

  • The need for network security is being increasing due to the development of information communication and internet technology. In this paper, firewall models, operating system models and other network component models are constructed. Each model is defined by basic or compound model, referencing DEVS formalism. These models and the simulation environment are implemented with MODSIM III, a general purpose, modular, block-structured high-level programming language which provides direct support for object-oriented programming and discrete-event simulation. In this simulation environment with representative attacks, the following three attacks are generated, SYN flooding and Smurf attack as an attack type of denial of service, Mail bomb attack as an attack type of e-mail. The simulation is performed with the models that exploited various security policies against these attacks. The results of this study show that the modeling method of packet filtering system, proxy system, unix and windows NT operating system. In addition, the results of the simulation show that the analysis of security performance according to various security policies, and the analysis of correlation between availability and confidentiality according to security empowerment.

Model Predictive Control for Productions Systems Based on Max-plus Algebra

  • Among the state-space description of discrete vent systems, the max-plus algebra is known as one of the effective approach. This paper proposes a model predictive control (MPC) design method based on the max-plus algebra. Several studies related to these topics have been done so far under the constraints that system parameters are constant. However, in practical systems such as production systems, it is common and sometimes inevitable that system parameters vary by each event. Therefore, it is of worth to design a new MPC controller taking account of adjustable system parameters. In this paper, we formulate system parameters as adjustable ones, and they are solved by a linear programing method. Since MPC determines optimal control input considering future reference signals, the controller can be more robust and the operation cost can be reduced. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a production system with three machines, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through a numerical simulation.

무인가공을 위한 PC 카메라 기반의 모니터링 (PC-Camera based Monitoring for Unattended NC Machining)

  • In order to make best use of NC machine tools with minimal labor costs, they need to be in operation 24 hours a day without being attended by human operators except for setup and tool changes. Thus, unattended machining is becoming a dream of every modern machine shop. However, without a proper mechanism for real-time monitoring of the machining processes, unattended machine could lead to a disaster. Investigated in this paper are ways to using PC camera as a real-time monitoring system for unattended NC milling operations. This study defined five machining states READY, NORMAL MACHINING, ABNORMAL MACHINING, COLLISION and END-OF-MACHINING and modeled them with DEVS (discrete event system) formalism. An image change detection algorithm has been developed to detect the table movements and a flame and smoke detection algorithm to detect unstable cutting process. Spindle on/off and cutting status could be successfully detected from the sound signals. Initial experimentation shows that the PC camera could be used as a reliable monitoring system for unattended NC machining.
