  • Digital watermark technology is now drawing attention as a new method of protecting digital content from unauthorized copying. This paper presents a novel audio watermarking algorithm to protect against unauthorized copying of digital audio. The proposed watermarking scheme includes a psychoacoustic model of MPEG audio coding to ensure that the watermarking does not affect the quality of the original sound. After embedding the watermark, our scheme extracts copyright information without access to the original signal by using a whitening procedure for linear prediction filtering before correlation. Experimental results show that our watermarking scheme is robust against common signal processing attacks and it introduces no audible distortion after watermark insertion.

  • This paper describes a study on the digital watermarking algorithm which is used to confirm the copyright protection of digital audio data. The digital audio watermarking algorithm based on psychoacoustic model is used for the inaudibility of the watermark data. The psychoacoustic model which is a key algorithm in MP3 audio compression is analyzed by MATLAB simulation, and is applied to digital audio watermark insertion.

  • The digital watermarking methods have been proposed as a solution for solving the illegal copying and proof of ownership problems in the context of multimedia data. But it is still difficult to have been overcame the problem of the protection of property to multimedia data, such as digital images, digital video, and digital audio. This paper describes a watermarking algorithm that embeds non-linearly audio logo watermark data which is converted from audio signal of the ownership in the components of pixel intensities in an original image and that insists of ownership by hearing the audio signal transformed from the extracted audio logo through the speaker. Experimental results show that our algorithm using audio logo proposed in this paper is robust against attacks such as particularly lossy JPEG image compression.

  • This paper describes a design for a RF receiver to receive satellite digital audio service. The RF receiver designed in this study is a planar structure that is easy to install on the rooftop of a car and is compact in size. In addition, it can be applied to certain commercial models because it has low noise and high gain characteristics. The impedance bandwidth of antenna is 17.8%(415MHz), and the axial ratio is below 3dB as good properties for the bandwidth of 40MHz which is a satellite digital audio service band. Also, it had a broad radiation beamwidth of $95.41^{\circ}$ in H-plane and $117.45^{\circ}$ in E-plane. From the results of the field test of satellite digital audio service reception for the RF receiver, it demonstrated good C/N rate(10.2dB).

  • This paper Introduces an implementation of MPEG-2 AAC codec system for digital audio broadcasting. This system consists of the encoder and the decoder. This system includes MPEG-2 system multiplexing and demultiplexing modules for Interfacing to the ETRI-DAB system. Four DSPs are adopted for the encoder and three DSPs for 7he decoder. Each DSP Processes system control. 1/0 control, audio signal processing. multiplexing and demultiplexing. This Paper also discusses some near future estimations relaxed to the DAB system and it\`s services. Currently a stereo audio codec is available but multi-channel audio codec and MPEG-4 audio cosec wall be also Implemented.

  • There is much interest on information communications owing to the rapid development of network and IT(Information Technology). Analog signals are converted into digital signals for information communications. However, it is very difficult to completely erase the distortion induced during the conversion of analog signals such as voices and images into digital signals. Existing audio graphic equalizer requires very complex processes to calculate the gain and coefficients of the higher-order filter which is required to generate natural sound and to satisfy the need of each person. Unfortunately it is uneconomical and very difficult to embed the existing digital audio equalizer in the system because of the complexity of the existing digital audio equalizer for high quality sound. This paper discusses the design of a new digital audio graphic equalizer(DAGEQ) which can improve system performance and the quality of audio sound, and can be embedded in the system. This new DAGEQ is designed so that the gain can be controlled automatically. The automatic control of coefficients and gain empowers real time processing and the improvement of audio quality.

  • In digital broadcasting, it is possible to multiplex maximum one hundred audio or music programs into MPEG-2 transport stream, which is suitable for transmitting through one channel. In order to check if multiplex music programs are transmitted well, we need a multiplex audio monitoring system that monitors the programs in real-time. In analog broadcasting, we have used hardware-based audio monitoring system for a small number music programs. However, the effectiveness of hardware-based audio monitoring system from the cost and function viewpoint is so low that a new system is needed for digital broadcasting. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a software-based audio monitoring system to satisfy these requirements. In this implementation, only one PC is used without other hardware facilities, and the system monitors digital broadcasting music programs effectively. Transmitted digital broadcasting streams are demultiplexed into many music programs and the realtime value of audio level and packet error information for these programs are displayed in the screen. Thus, the system detects and shows the abnormal transmitting programs automatically. Simulation results show that effective realtime multiplex audio monitoring is possible for digital broadcasting music programs.

  • The main purpose of a spatial audio system is to give a listener the same impression as if he/she were present in a recorded environment. A dummy head microphone is generally used for such purposes. Because of its human-like shape, we can obtain good spatial sound images. However, its shape is a restriction on its public use and it is difficult to convert a 2-channel recording into multi-channel signals for an efficient rendering over a multi-speaker arrangement. In order to solve the problems mentioned above, a spatial audio system is proposed that uses multiple microphones on a rigid sphere. The system has five microphones placed on special points of the rigid sphere, and it generates audio signals for headphone, stereo, stereo dipole, 4-channel, and 5-channel reproduction environments. Subjective localization experiments show that front/back confusion, which is a common limitation of spatial audio systems using the dummy head microphone, can be reduced dramatically in 4-channel and 5-channel reproduction environments and can be reduced slightly in a headphone reproduction.
