  • Recent advances in artificial intelligence have allowed for easier sentiment analysis (e.g. positive or negative forecast) of documents such as a finance reports. In this paper, we investigate a method to apply text mining techniques to extract in the financial report using deep learning, and propose an accounting model for the effects of sentiment values in financial information. For sentiment analysis with keyword detection in the financial report, we suggest the input layer with extracted keywords, hidden layers by learned weights, and the output layer in terms of sentiment scores. Our approaches can help more effective strategy for potential investors as a professional guideline using sentiment values.

  • A review of the related literature indicates that consumers' risk perceptions are largely affected by product involvement. This study investigates the impact of product involvement on required trust level and the online merchant choice. We developed a conceptual model that depicts the nomological relationships among product involvement, required trust level, and the online merchant choice, and formulated three hypotheses based on the conceptual model. An empirical study designed to accomplish the research objectives has been conducted using a questionnaire survey with 230 students in a university in Korea. The findings indicated that high-involvement products have higher trust level as required by consumers than low-involvement products, that consumers buying high-involvement products prefer digital storefronts, and that consumers buying low-involvement products prefer B2C e-marketplaces. The paper offers implications for academics as well as practitioners, based on the research results.

  • Although consumer ethical behavior related with illegal copies of digital software has been considered to be an important issue, not many studies have attempted to examine the issue. Firstly, this study attemped to explain the moral judgment and intention to make illegal copies of smart phone applications for college students. Secondly, psychological factors such as moral intensity and perceived risk related to making illegal copies were tested to be significantly different in individual characteristics such as experience of ethical education and past experience of making illegal copies of software, sex, age and household income. Thirdly, the effect of related factors such as psychological factors and individual characteristics was estimated to significantly influence moral judgment and intention to make illegal copies. Two step method(using LIMDEP program) was applied to estimate the model as a structural equation model. According to the results of this study, magnitude of consequences, financial risk and performance risk were found to be significantly different in income groups(less than middle class vs more than middle class). Prosecution risk was found to be significantly different in gender groups(female vs male). In addition, social consensus, financial risk, performance risk and prosecution risk were found to be significantly different in ethical education groups(experience vs no experience). • This study compares Customer Satisfaction Index(CSI) and the weight for each dimension by applying various methods of weight calculation and attempts to suggest some implications. For the purpose, the study classified the methods of weight calculation into the subjective method and the statistical method. Constant sum scale was used for the subjective method, and the statistical method was again segmented into correlation analysis, principal component analysis, factor analysis, structural equation model. The findings showed that there is difference between the weights from the subjective method and the statistical method. The order of the weights by the analysis methods were classified with similar patterns. Besides, the weight for each dimension by different methods of weight calculation showed considerable deviation and revealed the difference of discrimination and stability among the dimensions. Lastly, the CSI calculated by various methods of weight calculation showed to be the highest in structural equation model, followed by in the order of regression analysis, correlation analysis, arithmetic mean, principal component analysis, constant sum scale and factor analysis. The CSI calculated by each method showed to have statistically significant difference.

  • The victory of Barack Obama in the presidential reelection, in which he got closer to voters by scientific election strategy based on data, is making a new paradigm of this scientific election mechanism. But it is within bounds to say that Korean election has developed based on emotional confrontation, rather than on the confrontation of policy or personal qualification. This study suggests a Big data-based election campaign strategy in an effort to reduce the harmful consequences of Korean election and to settle down a desirable campaign culture. To do so, this study examines the actual status and problems of Korean politics and election campaign. And then it designs a Korean election strategy model using Big data as an alternative to break through the problems. Last, it discusses the plan to utilize Big data.
