  • The arrester's condition is related directly to protected equipment's safety. The most important is, therefore, arrester aging diagnosis. In this study, arrester aging diagnosis expert system is implemented to use JESS shell-engine and the leakage current detection technique.

  • In industry, several casting process are widely used to manufacture complex and accurate blank part of hard materials such as aluminum, casting steels, bronze and magnesium alloys which are difficult to manufacture in a blank shape. Even if the casting process does not high accuracy superior surface characteristics other machining process, the casting process is widely used in manufacturing blank part. Furthermore, it is difficult to select appropriate casting process a part among several casting process. for effective selection different process, a careful decision given casting application is necessary. An appropriate casting for a given material and shape condition must be selected for novice engineers in industry. In this paper, an expert system based on an analytic network process(ANP) is suggested for best selection of casting considering a prior interdependency effect among various factors such as material, geometry, process capability, economy and equipment.

  • The objective of this paper is to develop an expert system for nuclear piping integrity. This paper describes the selection methodology of integrity evalution method and the inference of material properties. To select the integrity evaluation method, the weight factor for respective material properties was obtained by the sensitivity analysis of the effect of material properties on integrity evaluation method. Subsequently the possession ratio for respective integrity evaluation method was computed, and the most appropriate integrity evaluation method for given input information is selected. In the material properties inference, stress-strain curves and J-R curves were predicted from tensile properties such as yield strength and tensile strength.

  • A systematic method of remeshing is required due to severe mesh distortion after some finite deformation in the finite element analysis of practical forging processes. In order to cope with the problem of mesh degeneracy during deformation, the proper design of meshes plays an improtant role in the analysis. In so-called "Modular Remeshing", the physical characteristics of metal flow and geometric characteristics are incorporated in "Module", which can be applied to the mesh design for a certain mode of deformation in so far as the topology of deforming region remains the same. For the purpose of more effective and systematic use of the modular remeshing scheme, an expert system has been developed in the framework of the proposed remeshing schemel. In oredr to show the effectiveness of the method, the rib-web type forging with axial relief or radial relief and spike forging are simulated. It has been thus shown that the proposed method of automatic remeshing by using modular remeshing and expert system can be futher extended and applied to various forging problems with complicated geometrical configurations.ical configurations.

  • Many institutes and organizations carrying out the national R&D projects have and use the expert pool database at each need. But there is lack of human resources information about expert in science and technology part for many policy planning and committee activity, also most of the expert pools are scattered on several database systems. So it is necessary to manage systematically the human resources informations about scientific expert. As the committeeman assignment and committee findings management are conducted by the off-line method, there are wastes of time and labor in committeeman assignment process and committee history management. Therefore we need to provide an effective and automatic process for committeeman assignment and management. In this paper, we construct a database for expert pool who can be used in committee activity or policy planning, and implement a system that services committee management and committeeman assignment process. The human information retrieval service of this system is based on the KRISTAL-2002, an information retrieval and management system developed by KISTI.

  • This study aims to optimize an arrangement of ship compartments with knowledge-based systems. Though great attention has been shown to the optimization of hull forms in recent years, the study on arrangement design optimization has received relatively little attention. A ship is both an engineering system and a kind of assembly of many spaces. This means that, to design an arrangement of ship compartments, it is necessary to treat not only geometric data but also knowledge on topological relations between spaces and components of a ship. In this regard, we select a suitable knowledge representation scheme for describing ship compartments and their relations, and then develop a knowledge-based system using expert system shell. This new approach is applied to create design variations for optimization on an arrangement of a pressure hull of a submerged vehicle. Finally, we explicate how our approach improves the design process.

  • 인공지능 분야 중 하나의 전문시스템 기술은 현재 산업현장에서 여러 가지 분야의 문제 해결에 이용되고 있다. 본 논문은 공압설계를 자동화하기 위한 전문가시스템 PDES(Pneumatic Design Expert System)의 프로토타입 개발에 관한 것이다. 공압설계를 위한 요구 조건이 시스템의 입력정보로 제공되면 공압설계 시방과 공압회로도, 공압작업요소의 영상이 시스템의 출력으로 제시된다. PDES의 지식 베이스는 산업분야 전문가의 전문지식과 경험적 지식을 획득, 분석하여 전문가 시스템 쉘을 이용하여 구성하였으며 추론전략으로는 전향추론을 적용한 규칙기반추론(Rule-Based Reasoning)을 이용하였다. PDES는 공압설계시 설계 업무를 자동화 하여 능률을 향상시켜 줄 뿐만 아니라 공압 관련 비전문가가 공압설계를 할 때에는 큰도움을 줄 수 있다.

  • Along with the development of M&S, modeling research utilizing AI technology is attracting attention because of the fact that the needs of fields including human decision making such as defense M&S are increased. Obviously AI is a way to solve complex problems. However, AI did not consider logical time such as input time and processing time required by M&S. Therefore, in this paper we proposed a "time-based expert system" which redesigned the representative AI technology rule-based expert system. It consists of a rule structure "IF-THEN-AFTER" and an inference engine, takes logical time into consideration. We also tried logical analysis using a simple example. As a result of the analysis, the proposal Time-based Expert System proved that the result changes according to the input time point and inference time.

  • This paper presents a process planning system that will generate and verify assembly sequences of block assemblies. It consists of a CAD interface system and an assembly sequence planning system. In developing this system, we used an open architecture CAD kernel for the CAD interface system, for visualizing the CAD model and the assembly sequences, and an expert system shell for the assembly sequence planning system. This paper also proposes a framework for the integration of all the steps required to automate the procedures, from design to production. The process planning system is demonstrated by a simple example.
