개페식 파지공구 메카니즘의 기구학적 최적 설계 (Kinematic Optical Design of an Open-Close Type Gripper Mechanism)

  • The main objective of this study is to develop a gripper mechanixm that can be employed for assembly and removal tasks of a nozzle-dam of steam genetator in the process of the nuclear reactor maintenances. Brief description of the open-close thpe gripper mechanism, its position analysis, and its kinematic analysis are given. The optimal design of the gripper mechanism with and without slipping on its two gipping surfaces is considered. As an optimal design index, the ratio of the actuator force of prismatic cylinder to gripping load is proposed. Then, based on this index the oiptimal design is carried out to identify values of optimal design parameters for the gripper dechanism.

  • The concrete structures designed and constructed by conventional design concept based on structural performance consideration show sometimes serious durability problem when the structures are exposed to aggressive environment. Because present design system focuses on the structure safety and considers durability indirectly by the concrete mix design and cover depth, the durability of concrete structure cannot be ensured. As the first step to develope the durability design for concrete structure, durability index which represents internal concrete resistance and environment index which represents external environmental exposure are derived quantitatively. In the next step, the durability design system is developed by checking durability limit state with computed two indexes under service life condition by considering of the reliability of structure. Finally, the proposed system is verified with a model problem.

Co-creation 실행 단계에 따른 Value Co-creation 유형 : 지역브랜드를 중심으로 (Value Co-creation Types according to Co-creation Execution Phase : Focusing on Regional Brand)

  • Regional brands are recognized for their importance as one of the local public relations policies, but only the methods promoted by local government officials and outside experts are revealing limitations in self-reliance and sustainability. In order for a regional brand to succeed, it is necessary to develop and manage a brand that fits the characteristics of the region together with various stakeholders including residents. In this study, it was confirmed that regional brand evaluation indicators may vary depending on the stage of co-creation in the design process for regional brand development, and the type of value co-creation was determined through a classification method using the results of the evaluation index. According to the results of the study, the type of value co-creation that fits the local situation and characteristics can be derived by adjusting the stage of co-creation execution in the design process.

Happel Cell 모델을 이용한 막오염 지수 예측 (Prediction of Membrane Fouling Index by Using Happel Cell Model)

  • Membrane fouling index such as Silt Density Index (SDI) and Modified Fouling Index (MFI) is an important parameter in design of the integrated RO/NF membrane processes for drinking water treatment. In this study, the effect of particle, membrane and feed water characteristics on membrane fouling index were investigated systematically. Higher fouling index values were observed when filtering suspensions with smaller particle size and higher feed particle concentration. Larger membrane resistance due to smaller pore size resulted in an increased membrane fouling index. The variations of feed water hardness and TDS concentrations did not show any impact on fouling index, suggesting that there were no significant colloidal interactions among particles and thus the porosity of particle cake layer accumulated on the membrane surface could be assumed to be 0.36 according to random packing density. Based on the experimental observations, fundamental membrane fouling index model was developed using Happel Cell. The effect of primary model parameters including particle size ($a_p$), particle concentration ($C_o$), membrane resistance ($R_m$), were accurately assessed without any fitting parameters, and the prediction of membrane fouling index such as MFI exhibited very good agreement with the experimental results.

Uncertainty and Manufacturing Stock Market in Korea

  • Purpose - We study the dynamic linkages of the economic policy uncertainty (EPU) in the US on the manufacturing stock market returns in Korea. In detail, we examine the casual link between EPU index in the US and the manufacturing stock indexes in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - We measure mainly the distribution effect of the US EPU on the manufacturing stock market in Korea of 1990-2017 by the vector error correction model (VECM). Result - In result, we estimate the impact of the US EPU index has significantly a negative response to the manufacturing stock market in Korea such as non-metal stock index, chemical stock index, food stock index, textile·clothes stock index, automobile·shipbuilding stock index, machinery stock index, steel·metal stock index. Also the remaining variables such as electric·electronics stock index, S&P 500, and producer price index in Korea have a negative relationship with US EPU index. Conclusions - We find out that the relationship between EPU index of the US and the manufacturing stock market in Korea has the negative relationships. We determine the EPU of the US has the spillover effect on the industry stock markets in Korea.

한국 유통산업이 한국 경제에 미치는 상호영향력에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on Mutual Influence between Economic Index and Distribution Industry in Korean)

  • Purpose - The objective of this paper is to discover if there exists a relationship between the economic index and distribution industry index in Korean. Because of the distribution industry boom in the recent years, a lot of interest in the relationship between the economic index and distribution industry index in Korean and the economy has been generated. This article examine on the mutual influence between economic index and distribution industry index in Korean. Research design, data, and methodology - For this purpose, we use the vector-auto regression model, impulse response function and variance decomposition of the economic index and distribution industry index, Granger causality test using weekly data on the economic index and distribution industry price index in korea. The sample period is covering from January 2, 2010 to August 31, 2019. The VAR model can also be linked to cointegration analysis. Cointegration Analysis makes possible to find a mechanism causing x and y to move around a long-run equilibrium (Engle and Granger, 1987). This equilibrium means that external shocks may separate the series temporarily at any particular time, but there will be an overall tendency towards some type of long-run equilibrium. If variables are found to have this tendency they are said to be cointegrated and a long-run relationship between these series is established. These econometric tools have been applied widely into economics and business areas to analyze intertemporal linkages between different time series. Results - This research showed following main results. First, from the basic statistic analysis of the economic index and distribution industry index in Korean, the economic index and the distribution industry index in korea have unit roots. Second, there is at least one cointegration between the economic index and distribution industry index in Korean. Finally, the correlation between of the economic index and the distribution industry index in korea is (+) 0.528876. Conclusions - We find that the distribution industry price index Granger cause the economic index in korea. As a consequence, the distribution industry index affect the economic index in Korean. The distribution industry index to the economic index is stronger than that from the economic index to the distribution industry index.

PHC 매입말뚝의 하중저항 설계정수 제안 (Suggestion of Load and Resistance Factored Design Value for PHC Bored Pile)

  • 뢰성에 기반한 한계상태설계법은 국제표준화기구인 ISO뿐만 아니라 국내의 각종 건설관련 기준에서도 적용되는 등 국내외적으로 기존 허용응력설계법을 대체하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 국내에서 건축물의 기초로 많이 사용되고 있는 PHC 매입말뚝을 대상으로 한계상태설계법의 일종인 LRFD 설계정수를 제안하였다. PHC 매입말뚝의 LRFD 설계정수를 제안하기 위해 81개의 현장 동재하 시험자료와 이들 말뚝에 대한 지지력 설계(Meyerhof 설계법, SPT-CPT 전환 설계법) 자료를 분석하고 목표 신뢰도 지수 2.33과 3.0에 대해 하중저항계수를 제시하였다. PHC 매입말뚝의 저항계수는 목표 신뢰도 지수에 따라 Meyerhof 방법, SPT-CPT 전환법은 각각 0.36~0.44, 0.24~0.31을 나타내었다.

Synchronization and identification of ship shaft power and speed for energy efficiency design index verification

  • The maritime sector is advancing with dedicated endeavor to reduce greenhouse gas in addressing issues with regards to global warming. Since 01 January 2013, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulation mandatory requirement for Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) has been in place and should be satisfied by newly-built ships of more than 400 gross tonnage and the Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) for all ships type. Therefore, compliance to this necessitates planning during the design stage whereas verification can be carried-out through an acceptable method during sea trial. The MEPC-approved 2013 guidance, ISO 15016 and ISO 19019 on EEDI serves the purpose for calculation and verification of attained EEDI value. Individual ships EEDI value should be lower than the required value set by these regulations. The key factors for EEDI verification are power and speed assessment and their synchronization. The shaft power can be measured by telemeter system using strain gage during sea trial. However, calibration of shaft power onboard condition is complicated. Hence, it relies only on proficient technology that operates within the permitted ISO allowance. On the other hand, the ship speed can be measured and calibrated by differential ground positioning system (DGPS). An actual test on a newly-built vessel was carried out to assess the correlation of power and speed. The Energy-efficiency Design Index or Operational Indicator Monitoring System (EDiMS) software developed by the Dynamics Laboratory-Mokpo Maritime University (DL-MMU) and Green Marine Equipment RIS Center (GMERC) of Mokpo Maritime University was utilized for this investigation. In addition, the software can continuously monitor air emission and is a useful tool for inventory and ship energy management plan. This paper introduces the synchronization and identification method between shaft power and ship speed for EEDI verification in accordance with the ISO guidance.

PSC Beam교의 실측실험을 반영한 한계상태설계법 기반 교량 평가법 적용 분석 (Analysis on Application of Limit State Design Method for Bridge Evaluation Considering PSC Beam Bridge Experiment Results)

  • 본 연구에서는 한계상태설계법에 기반한 교량 평가법을 개발하기 위하여, 공용 중인 교량의 실측실험을 반영하여 적용성을 분석하였다. 예제 PSC Beam 실 교량의 부재 실험 결과로부터 부재의 시험강도를 구하였으며, 재료 시험값으로부터 추정된 통계특성을 적용하여 산정된 저항강도와 시험강도를 비교하였다. 부재의 시험강도와 재료의 변동성을 고려한 저항강도는 동등한 수준으로 계산되어 실측실험의 적합성이 검증되었다. 차량재하시험으로부터 응답보정계수와 동적충격계수를 계산하였으며, 실측실험 결과를 반영한 내하율을 적용하여 현행 교량 평가법과 한계상태설계법 기반으로 산정된 내하율을 비교하였다. 재료 시험값의 통계특성으로부터 추정된 부재 저항강도의 통계특성을 적용하여 실 교량의 신뢰도지수를 계산하였다. 설계기준 개발에 적용한 저항강도 통계특성으로 구한 신뢰도지수보다 실측실험의 통계특성을 적용하는 경우 더 큰 값의 신뢰도지수를 얻었다.
