  • Providing female students with competitive advantages in their social activity became one of the important issues of the college education in Korea. Thereupon, for the purpose of more effective and systematic support for the female students, many universities have adopted the cyber mentoring system. However, customers' requirements for such cyber mentoring systems are not reflected at the initial stage, resulting in some inefficient performances. In this study, we propose a desirable cyber mentoring system reflecting female students' requirements by using QFD and conjoint analysis. We expect that the proposed system will help to cultivate high quality female resources in a more effective way.

  • The new paradigm of education in the cyber space is not limited by time or locations. The students do not need to attend classroom physically and simultaneously. This study tries to probe the relationships among demographic variables and instructional variables with students' satisfaction with the management class in a cyber university. The results demonstrate that demographic variables are not significantly related with students' satisfaction. Rather instructional variables such as personal interactions with professors, job related contents and careful reduction of difficulties countered during the class proceeding are more significantly related with learning satisfaction. The result shows the newly emerged internet based education system requires in-depth cooperation among professors, system engineers, education instrument designers, and students.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between cyber leisure activity and autonomic function in high school students. Methods: The subjects of this study were 242 second graders at high school located in D city. The research design was descriptive correlation study. Data were collected from August 26 to September 17, 2010, using a cyber leisure questionnaire and heart rate variability (SA-6000, Medicore, Korea) for autonomic function. Results: Total time for the cyber leisure activity was $391.3{\pm}262.0$ (min/week). Time for internet usage and computer game was $234.5{\pm}140.1$ (min/week) and $156.8{\pm}164.3$ (min/week), respectively. There were significant positive correlation between total cyber leisure time and sympathetic activity (r=.247, $p$ <.001). Conclusion: Excessive cyber leisure activity could increase sympathetic activities in high school students. Thus, nursing intervention to reduce the total cyber leisure time will be helpful to improve their neurophysiological status.

For this purpose, the 371 students of W cyber university were participated in the web-survey system for two weeks at the end of second semester in 2011. The results of this study through hierarchical multiple regression analysis indicated that social presence significantly predicted on academic achievement. Academic self-efficacy was not significant moderating variable between social presence and academic achievement. And Learning flow was used as a significant moderated variable in the relationships among social presence and academic achievement. Based on these study results, effective management strategies for improving cyber university students' academic achievement were proposed.

  • The interest in cyber counseling services has been increased recently by needs and merits of cyber counseling service found through various related studies. A cyber counseling service system has not only merits but also demerits such as anonymous one-off access and difficulties of forming relations. In this study, a cyber counseling service system using class homepage was developed and implemented in order to investigate counseling methods that can enhance merits and supplement demerits of cyber counseling services. As a result, it was found that the implementation of a cyber counseling service system using class homepage can fill counseling needs of students, teachers and parents by providing various counseling methods and inducing active interaction using the site-on function. Interesting menu on class homepage was effective to lead students and parents to visit the cyber counseling room, and they prefered the secret board and counseling cases to e-mail counseling. Prior acquisition of information about students and the environment allowing teachers to continuously observe students improved counseling effects and solved problems of existing counseling services.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify strategic insights for cyber universities to secure a competitive advantage based on market analysis grounded in customer needs and motivations. As a research method, we surveyed and analyzed college students using conjoint analysis, identified the importance of cyber university components, estimated the utility of each detailed level, and identified the configuration of cyber universities most preferred by potential customers. In the study results, the importance of attributes that appeared by analyzing all respondents was in the order of 'expected ourcoms after graduation', 'department characteristic', 'cyber university name', and 'learning management style'. Cluster analysis was performed, divided into two groups, and conjoint analysis was performed. For Cluster 1, the importance values of the components were 'expected outcomes after graduation,' 'learning management style,' 'cyber university name,' and 'department characteristics,' in that order. For Cluster 2, the importance values were 'expected outcomes after graduation,' 'department characteristics,' 'cyber university name,' and 'learning management style,' in that order. As an application of the research, As an application of the study, it is suggested that analyzing the preferences of potential customers in the entire group is not accurate; therefore, segmenting the groups for analysis and strategy formulation can be useful.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of SNS addiction tendency and social support on cyber violence among college students. Data collection was conducted through a structured questionnaire for 330 college students and analyzed through SPSS 18.0 program. As a result of the analysis, SNS addiction tendency was low as $1.81{\pm}0.55$, social support was $4.00{\pm}0.78$ and cyber violence was $1.38{\pm}0.59$. There was a significant positive correlation between SNS addiction tendency and SNS posting frequency, and there was a significant negative correlation between social support and grade. Cyber violence increased as the tendency of SNS addiction increased, as social support decreased, and cyber violence decreased in the second and third graders compared to the first grade. For this purpose, it is necessary to strengthen cyber education and group counseling program suitable for college students and it will be necessary to make effort to raise self - control.

  • The demand for cyber education in Korea is constantly increasing and the need for research on online lecture on contents design that increases the learning effect is rising. In this research, the online lecture contents about the technical information type provided by Korea Cyber University was understood and we researched about the most preferred lecture type and the most effective lecture type in learning among the 1,173 students in Korea Cyber University who participated in this online survey. Also, we analyzed if the students' preference for the lecture type depended on their experience on that lecture type and we studied the students' claims postulated on the interface design of the lecture contents. The most preferred lecture type among students was e-Stream+flash and they answered that multi-media type lectures were the most effective lectures in learning. The majority of the students preferred lecture contents that they have experienced before and preferred the menu on the left side of the page in interface design. Not only the completeness, but the applications in design in lecture contents are also an important factor in online lectures. As the demand for cyber education in Korea is increasing, content design that can increase the academic performance should be further researched.
