개선활동의 재무성과 달성/기여 효과 분석 (An Effect of the Improvement Activities on the Financial Performance)

  • Top Managers are apt to do the decision making on the base of cost-benefit analysis. Therefore the return on quality is indispensable to get the commitment of the top managers on the quality programs. The monetary or tangible effects of the most improvement activities through the suggestion systems and the quality circle activities are computed and reported. In most cases the reported gains are much bigger than the input invested. In spite of the reported high return many top managers are doubtful about the truth of reports because the gains are not translated into the profit on the income statement. This paper discusses about the mechanism of individual improvement activities and analyze the system effect which sum the individual effect and the realization effect on the income statement during that period. This will help the top managers to commit on the quality programs with high confidence.

핀테크 서비스에서 개인적 특성이 혁신저항요인에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Individual Features on the Innovative Resistance in FinTech Service)

  • Purpose With the development of information and communication technologies. fintech industry is rapidly growing as a major financial service. Previous research literatures mainly focused on overall characteristics and technical aspects of fintech including security issues. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of individual features influencing the resistance of adopting a fintech service. Moreover, this paper included the guidelines in practical development of fintech mechanism. Design/methodology/approach For research purposes, this study developed research hypotheses in order to empirically examine the effect of the factors that might have a significant effect on the resistance of the wearable device. The empirical research was based on a survey which carried through 359 participants. Research hypotheses were evaluated via SPSS Statistics 21.0 and AMOS 19 statistical package program. Findings Results showed that self-efficacy and individual innovation had a significant effect on the technostress and switching cost. In addition, technostress, security and switching cost had a significant effect on the resistance of adopting a fintech service. However, more factors are needed to including in research model to generalize these results.

Effect of Inadequate Design on Cost and Time Overrun of Road Construction Projects in Tanzania

  • Completing road construction projects within the budget and time has been a problem for the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS); and the major problem highlighted in almost all projects being inadequate design. However, the extent to which inadequate design contributes to both time and cost overruns and its causes remained under-studied. The objective of this study is therefore to determine the extent of the effect of inadequate design, its causes and remedial measures. The methodology used in this study includes reviewing recent projects completion reports, holding roundtable discussions with consultants and TANROADS officials and analyzing the information. Cost and time overruns for the reviewed projects averaged 44% and 26% respectively. Similarly, the extents to which inadequate design contributes to cost and time overruns were on average found to be 61% and 85% respectively. The overruns are predominantly related to problems that occurred during the design process. To alleviate the problem, TANROADS is advised to improve the management of design projects, enhance the process of reviewing design reports, improve the design process including introducing Road Safety Audit and geometric design manuals, and increase staff to match the work-load.

트랜스로그 비용함수를 이용한 참치연승어업 규모의 경제성 분석 (An Analysis on Economies of Scale for Tuna Distant Longline Fishery Using a Translog Cost Function)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify economic situation on scale of tuna distant longline fishery by analyzing its economies of scale using the cost function. To analyze its economics of scale, the deep-sea fishing statistics were used from 2012 to 2016. In detail, the number of panels for estimating the cost function was 68 tuna distant longline vessels from 2012 to 2016, and the total number of observations over the five years were 340. As a final model, the two-way fixed effect model based on the translog cost function was adopted through the F test, the Breusch-Pagan test and the Hausman test. As a result of the analysis, it was found that tuna distant longline fishery between 2012 and 2014 was diseconomies of scale, the fishery between 2015 and 2016 was economies of scale. However, the economic indicators of the scale from 2012 to 2016 were almost close to zero, indicating that the constant returns to scale, the optimal scale, were reached. Therefore, in the situation where the amount of fishery resources in the world continues to decrease, it is necessary to prepare a method to obtain economic benefits through scale maintenance and reduction rather than indiscriminate scale expansion.

하부 구성품의 신뢰도 특성을 고려한 복합 시스템의 최적 예방정비 주기 산출 (Optimal Preventive Maintenance Period in Complex Systems in Considering Components Reliability Characteristic)

  • Generally the life-cycle cost of complex systems composed of several sub systems or equipments such as train, aircraft weapon systems is spent much more during operation and maintenance phase than development phase. The maintenance cost for maintaining the availability and extending the life span of systems comprise a large proportion of systems operation cost. The cycle of preventive maintenance affects operation and maintenance cost a lot. In this study we introduce a way minimizing life-cycle cost of systems by calculating more reliable preventive maintenance period than the results of previous study using systems reliability data considered the reliability and failure effect ratio of sub-systems or components. We can solve the preventive maintenance period problem known as NP-Hard as quick as possible by using modified genetic algorithm than using other models introduced in previous study.

한국과 아시아 지역 저가 항공사 여승무원의 유니폼 디자인 비교 분석 (Comparative analysis on uniform designs of female flight attendant among low cost carriers in South Korea and Asian region)

  • This work aims at analyzing the comparative feature about female flight attendant uniform designs of Korean and Asian region low cost carriers and providing some basic materials for development of these airline companies. As a research method, examinations were carried out on attendant's uniform both theoretically and empirically. Comparison of uniforms was made among the five Korean carriers and ten typical Asian carriers for empirical research. Results showed the followings. First, all Korean low cost carriers were characterized as formal style except Jin Air. Unlike this, Asian low cost carriers appeared as diverse including formal, semi formal, and casual styles with a uniquely differentiated image. Second, all carriers applied their own symbolic color to their uniform. Third, logo or symbol was adopted as a pattern on scarf in the two Korean companies but it didn't take effect practically. For those Asian carriers, embroidery was used on jacket, jumper and collar. They utilized even a merchandising character to put emphasis on airline image. Fourth, diverse petty items with a decorative effect were used in the case of Korean low cost carriers. In the changing period of uniform, nothing much was changed and remained almost the same as before. Those in the Asian region were characterized with the smallest number of items and the preclusion of decorative add-ons on uniform.

공정부산물이 음식물쓰레기 처리비용에 미치는 영향 분석 (Effect of Process By-products on Food Wastes Treatment Costs)

  • 음식물쓰레기를 처리하는 과정에서 발생하는 이물질이나 오폐수 등이 적절하게 처리되지 않아 주변 환경을 오염시키는 사례들이 발생하고 있어서 본 연구에서는 공정부산물의 처리가 음식물쓰레기의 처리비용에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 비용을 분석하기 위해 전력사용량, 오폐수발생량 등을 조사하고 1일 50톤 처리용량에서 처리비용을 분석하였다. 총처리비에서 공정부산물의 처리비가 차지하는 비중은 하수병합, 혐기성퇴비화, 건식사료화 등 공정부산물의 발생이 많은 방법들은 14~39%, 호기성퇴비화, 습식발효사료화, 습식파쇄사료화 등 공정부산물의 발생이 적은 방법은 5~11%의 범위를 보였다. 따라서 공정부산물의 발생이 많은 처리방법일수록 그에 소요되는 비용을 충분히 수수료에 반영하거나 하수처리장과 매립지 등을 저가로 활용하게 하여 공정부산물의 부적절한 처리를 예방할 필요가 있다고 판단되었다.

  • 본 연구는 교량/궤도 종방향 해석 및 교량/차량 동적영향을 고려한 설계기법에 대한 효율성 및 경제성을 증명하기 위하여 수행하였다. 신뢰성에 기초한 생애주기비용 최적설계는 기존 설계기법에 의한 설계, 초기비용에 기초한 최적설계, 등가 생애주기비용 최적설계에 의한 최적설계와 비교하기 위하여 5$\times$(1@50m) 경간 소수주형 교량을 대상으로 적용하였다. 신뢰성에 기초한 최적설계 결과 교량/궤도 종방향 해석 및 교량/차량 동적영향을 고려한 고속철도 교량 설계 단면이 교량/궤도 종방향 해석 및 교량/차량 동적영향을 고려하지 않은 설계 단면보다 훨씬 효율적임을 확인 하였다.

중국 사막지역의 방풍책 높이와 공극률에 따른 방풍효과 및 설치비용 비교분석 (Comparative Analysis of Windbreak Effect and Installation Cost of Sand Barrier with Different Height and Porosity on Sand Land in China)

  • This study was conducted in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, located at southern part of Mu Us sand land in China. To investigate relationships between windbreak effect and installation cost of sand barriers, plastic net is utilized by using four kind of heights (0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5m) and four kind of porosities (20, 30, 50 and 70%). These heights and porosities are measured for estimating distances for effective windbreak. It is shown that porosity and the distance have a positive relationship at same heights and porosity on ground indicates a constant figure when height reaches a certain level, regardless of the porosity. This implies that there is a difference of level of windbreak with different porosities; however, distance of windbreak effect is same at the same height of sand barrier. As a result of comparison between porosity of sand barrier on the ground and installation cost in each sand barrier with various heights and porosities (16 combinations), 0.4m and 0.5m height sand barriers describe highest economical efficiency. Within two variables, we concluded that height has a higher impact on windbreak effect than porosity.

유동화공법에 의해 제조한 고유동 콘크리트의 원가분석에 관한 기초적 연구 (A Fundamental Study on the Estimation of Construction Cost of High Fluidity Concrete Applying Flowing Concrete Method)

  • This paper discusses the estimation of construction cost of high fluidity concrete using segregation reducing type superplasicizer with 350kgf/cm2 of design strength and 60$\pm$5cm of slump flow in order to verify the cost down effect of high fluidity concrete compared with that of plain concrete with 350kgf/cm2 of design strength and 18cm of slump and with 210kgf/cm2 of design strength and 15cm of slump. According to research, under same strength levels, although material cost of high fluidity concrete is somewhat higher than that of plain concrete due to segregation reducing type superplasticizer, labor cost and equipment cost of high fluidity concrete is cheaper than that of plain concrete. However, based on the strength differences, high fluidity concrete shows lower material cost, labor cost and equipment cost than that of plain concrete due to decreasing in size of member and re-bar caused by high strength development of concrete.
