The purpose of this study was to investigate the development and application of strategies using fairy tales in elementary school science. For this study, many fairy tales were searched in terms of various characteristics and educational value of the tales. Five fairy tales were selected and reconstructed to suit the 'mirrors and lenses' unit of 5th graders' school science, and teaching strategies using the fairy tales were developed to be used in six lessons. To investigate the effects of instruction using fairy tales, pre/post tests for scientific attitude were administered. To analyze students' perception of their classes, a simple survey was administered through questionnaires. We found from this study that the students related the fairy tales with their own experiences and took an active part in the class that used them. Also, instruction using fairy tales had positive effects on their scientific attitude. Many students said that the science classes were interesting, and the method using fairy tales encouraged students to study hard as well as helped them to understand the context. It was concluded that instruction using fairy tales was an effective method in terms of enhancing learning motivation, encouraging more inquiries, more opportunities to apply the scientific concept, and more positive scientific attitude. We discussed the strategies using fairy tales for implementation in elementary science classes as well.
1. Objectives Theory of Iinsim Tosim(the Human - Mind and the Moral - Mind) that originated from "Sang-Seo(尙書)" "Dae-Woo-Mo(大禹謨)" is a relative importance point of dispute at the existing confucianism and chosun's neo confucianism. Our consideration point is that a close examination of relation between Iinsim-Tosim theory of existing confucianism's and Lee Je-ma's thought of Iinsim Tosim and his creative exposition that is related to view of human being contained theory of sasang(四象), knowledge & conduction(Jihang, 知行). 2. Methods of Research We analyze "Gyukchigo(格致藁)" that is contained confucianism's contents and Lee Je-ma's view point of human being, and consult " Dongyi Suse Bowon chobongeun(東醫壽世保元草本卷)", "Dongyi Suse Bowon(東醫壽世保元)", reference about confucianism and some other thesis. 3. Results (1) Lee Je-ma's thought of Iinsim Tosim is closely connected each other. There is close correlation between Iinsim and Tosim such as both ends. And Iinsim Tosim is not virtue and vice relation but all good concept, though each have fragility, Iinsim have weakness of laziness and Tosim have that of desire. (2) Lee Je-ma insist on having lisim(理心)-kyungsim(敬心) for overcoming each fragility that weakness of laziness and desire. And he present learning(學) and speculation(思) for acquirement of lisim(理心) kyungsim(敬心). (3) Lee Je-ma's thought of Iinsim Tosim's containing meaning is not one side but both side for nature(性) & emotion(情). therefore Iinsim Tosim is closely connected Lee Je-ma's view of human being and theory of knowledge & conduction(Ji-Hang, 知行論). That is very different from existing confucianism & MyungSunlock(Book of Illuminating Goodnes)'s thought. (4) Iinsim is connected with knowledge(知), Tosim is connected with conduction(行) (5) Lee Je-ma's thought of Affairs - Mind - Body - Objects(事心身物) is closely connected with Iinsim-Tosim. 4. Conclusions There are no parts that directly criticized by LEE JE-MA, comparing with he's thought and the existing confucianism's theory of Iinsim Tosim, a specific person's theory. but LEE JE-MA approached the theory of Iinsim Tosim with thought that is not an extension of existing confucianism's thought, but original with himself, therefore LEE JE-MA's thought of Iinsim Tosim is closely connected with the most important conceptions (theory of nature & emotion, theory of knowledge & conduction) at the Sasang Constitutional Medicine. and Iinsim Tosim is an important clue for understanding the thought of LEE JE-MA.

The main purpose of this thesis is to research various theories in Cultural Education. It is to rebuild the value of home economics, and to demonstrate its potential to bring out a true human being. Until now, home economics education had been focused on developing ability to solve problems, only to fail us in training students to have ability to cope with different conditions in daily life by themselves. With the society rapidly changing, such a temporizing education system would lose its value immediately, and the identity of home economics education is at stake today. The present situation is resulted from the failure in approaching the culture education properly. With the fact that the elements of home economics are culture themselves. the failures in organizing and teaching the subject would urge us to rearrange curriculum of home economics. We need to bear in mind that the curriculum of home economics cannot contain every cultural value. A careful consideration is necessary in order to include the essence of the culture at the minimum quantity. Through analyzing different types of theories and methods of education in Cultural Education, this research is aimed at reviewing home economics education with its concept. Further study in the future should be proceeded with more comprehensive researches on instruction and learning methods with Cultural Education perspective, based on the analysis.

In the method to analyze the relationship in the system call orders, the normal system call orders are divided into a certain size of system call orders to generates gene and use them as the detectors. In the method to consider the system call parameters, the mean and standard deviation of the parameter lengths are used as the detectors. The attack of which system call order is normal but the parameter values are changed, such as the format string attack, cannot be detected by the method that considers only the system call orders, whereas the model that considers only the system call parameters has the drawback of high positive defect rate because of the information obtained from the interval where the attack has not been initiated, since the parameters are considered individually. To solve these problems, it is necessary to develop a more efficient learning and detecting method that groups the continuous system call orders and parameters as the approach that considers various characteristics of system call related to attacking simultaneously. In this article, we detected the anomaly of the system call orders and parameters by applying the temporal concept to the system call orders and parameters in order to improve the rate of positive defect, that is, the misjudgment of anomaly as normality. The result of the experiment where the DARPA data set was employed showed that the proposed method improved the positive defect rate by 13% in the system call order model where time was considered in comparison with that of the model where time was not considered.

This study analyzes divisor and multiple in elementary school mathematics textbooks published according to the first to the 7th curriculum, in a view point of the didactic transposition theory. In the first and second textbooks, the divisor and the multiple are taught in the chapter whose subject is on the calculations of the fractions. In the third and fourth textbooks, divisor and multiple became an independent chapter but instructed with the concept of set theory. In the fifth, the sixth, and the seventh textbooks, not only divisor multiple was educated as an independent chapter but also began to be instructed without any conjunction with set theory or a fractions. Especially, in the seventh textbook, the understanding through activities of students itself are strongly emphasized. The analysis on the each curriculum periods shows that the divisor and the multiple and the reduction of a fractions to the lowest terms and to a common denominator are treated at the same period. Learning activity elements are increase steadily as the textbooks and the mathematical systems are revised. The following conclusion can be deduced based on the textbook analysis and discussion for each curriculum periods. First, loaming instruction method also developed systematically with time. Second, teaching method of the divisor and multiple has been sophisticated during the 1st to 7th curriculum textbooks. And the variation of the teaching sequences of the divisor and multiple is identified. Third, we must present concrete models in real life and construct textbooks for students to abstract the concepts by themselves. Fourth, it is necessary to develop some didactics for students' contextualization and personalization of the greatest common divisor and least common multiple. Fifth, the 7th curriculum textbooks emphasize inquiries in real life which teaming activities by the student himself or herself.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the difficulties of science classes experienced by newly appointed elementary school teachers in terms of science content knowledge and teaching method, and to suggest some implications for their effective adaptation. We recorded science lessons conducted by 3 beginning elementary school teachers with less than 5 years experience and also analyzed their classes and interview materials. The results were as follows. First, difficulties that they experienced in science content knowledge was the possession of scientific errors or misconceptions, the lack of awareness and confidence in scientific concepts and principles, and the possession of negative concept about learning materials. Second, difficulties that they experienced in teaching method was the absence of reorganization of the textbook contents, using closed questions, one-sided instructions and explanations by teacher, the application of incomplete analogy, and the lack of understanding about experiment activities. The implication from this study is that beginning teachers need to be provided with curriculum oriented in experiment at teachers college and to participate in various types of educational opportunities.

The purpose of this study is to develop a science field study area using Geumgang(Geum River), fossil origins and various geological resources in Youngdong area of Chungcheongbuk-do as educational resources; and utilize them to develop an education program to cultivate earth science and topophilia. The Youngdong sedimentary basin (Cretaceous period) has a well-developed outcrop along the Geumgang and it is therefore easy to find various geological structures, plant fossils, and dinosaur fossils. Also, it has a distinct sedimentary structure, such as mud cracks, ripple marks and cross-bedding. Science field study area(6 observation sites) were developed based on school curriculum, textbook analysis, and professional earth science education panel discussion to create a convergence education program. The result of validating the developed program showed that all the items were satisfactory ($CVR{\geq}0.88$) in the test categories. The science field study teaching-learning model was applied to actual classes. The evaluation result for class satisfaction was positive, scoring Rickert scale 4.18. The result of observation about the outdoor classroom process in the science field study area revealed that students were able to form a new image of the beautiful scenery of the Geumgang. Also, the students could gain a new understanding, concept and value of various geological objects (sandy beach, stepping-stones, dinosaur footprint fossils, sedimentary formation), which naturally allowed them to form topophilia.
The purpose of this study is to find some implications for improving diversities of the senior high school system in Korea, by examining those of Australian high school system. Based on the literature review, school diversification can be defined as providing students or their parents with some range of alternative programs from which they can choose a school or program they believe are best suitable for them. In this point, the concept is very similar to that of school choice. The finding of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the programs of within-school diversification at Australian senior secondary schools include subject selecting, extension programs and vocational education and training courses(VET). Second, selective schools, independent schools and specialist schools are the types of between-schools diversity programs in Australia. Third, the characteristic of Australian school diversification was traditionally between-schools diversification, of which the purpose is to provide excellent learning opportunities for some talented students. However, the policy trend has, recently, been extended to within-school diversity programs. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the policy of high school diversification 300 in Korea can be seen as a suitable one because one of its aims was to overcome some limitations of the school equalization policy. Second, well defined within-school diversity programs should be considered in order to avoid educational disadvantage issues in education that can be inevitably risen from between-school diversification policies. Lastly, the possibilities of implementing VET programs at general high schools should also be urgently considered.

The Tor Tong Daeng Irrigation Project with the irrigation area of 61,400 hectares is located in the Ping Basin of the Upper Central Plain of Thailand where farmers depended on both surface water and groundwater. In the drought year, water storage in the Bhumipol Dam is inadequate to allocate water for agriculture, and caused water deficit in many irrigation projects. Farmers need to find extra sources of water such as water from farm pond or groundwater as a supplement. The operation of Bhumipol Dam and irrigation demand estimation are vital for irrigation water allocation to help solve water shortage issue in the irrigation project. The study aims to determine the smart dam operation system to mitigate water shortage in this irrigation project via introduction of machine learning to improve dam operation and irrigation demand estimation via soil moisture estimation from satellite images. Via ANN technique application, the inflows to the dam are generated from the upstream rain gauge stations using past 10 years daily rainfall data. The input vectors for ANN model are identified base on regression and principal component analysis. The structure of ANN (length of training data, the type of activation functions, the number of hidden nodes and training methods) is determined from the statistics performance between measurements and ANN outputs. On the other hands, the irrigation demand will be estimated by using satellite images, LANDSAT. The Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) and Temperature Vegetation Dryness Index (TVDI) values are estimated from the plant growth stage and soil moisture. The values are calibrated and verified with the field plant growth stages and soil moisture data in the year 2017-2018. The irrigation demand in the irrigation project is then estimated from the plant growth stage and soil moisture in the area. With the estimated dam inflow and irrigation demand, the dam operation will manage the water release in the better manner compared with the past operational data. The results show how smart system concept was applied and improve dam operation by using inflow estimation from ANN technique combining with irrigation demand estimation from satellite images when compared with the past operation data which is an initial step to develop the smart dam operation system in Thailand.

In this study, mathematics education program was developed for the foreign students who entered the science and engineering college of Korea in order to improve their basic competency and to prevent dropouts. It is applied to 5 Chinese students, 4 male students and 1 female student. Three students are majoring in engineering college and two students are majoring in natural science college. Before applying the mathematics education program to foreign students, most students did not draw a graph of the 'irrational function' and the 'exponential function' and did not understand the concept of the 'limit' at all. However, after applying the mathematics program, all foreign students were able to draw graphs of the various function and the limit values were calculated accurately. Through the results of this study, the researcher proposes some of the following. When developing mathematics education programs for foreign students, it is very important to develop teaching materials suitable for their level. Textbook developers need to select and organize contents that are essential for learning in university mathematics and to present mathematical concepts and examples considering the Korean language level of foreign students. Moreover, it will be necessary to try to present mathematical terms commonly used in Korea in their native language or English.
