  • Competencies are defined as an observable and assessable set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Graduation competencies, which are more comprehensive, refer to the required abilities of students to perform on-site work immediately after graduation. As graduation competencies set the goal of education, various countries and institutions have introduced them for new veterinary graduates. The Korean Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges has recently established such competencies to standardize veterinary education and enhance quality levels thereof. The purpose of this study is to describe the process of establishing graduation competencies as well as their implication for veterinary education in Korea. Graduation competencies for veterinary education in Korea comprise 5 domains (animal health care and disease management, one health expertise, communication and collaboration, research and learning, and veterinary professionalism). These are further divided into 11 core competencies, and 33 achievement standards, which were carefully chosen from previous case analyses and nation-wide surveys. Currently, graduation competencies are used as a standard for setting clear educational purposes for both instructors and students. Establishing these competencies further initiated the development of detailed learning outcomes, and of a list of basic veterinary clinical performances and skills, which is useful for assessing knowledge and skills. The establishment of graduation competencies is expected to contribute to the continuous development of Korean veterinary education in many ways. These include curriculum standardization and licensing examination reform, which will eventually improve the competencies of new veterinary graduates.

  • The purpose of this study was to test whether or not the AI chatbot is effective in acquiring target grammar for Korean EFL college students: prepositions and articles. A quasi-experiment was conducted with 46 first-year students taking part in a required English course. They were randomly divided into two groups: the experimental and control groups (23 students for each, respectively). The experimental group was engaged in six chat sessions with a chatbot over 6 weeks. A pretest and a posttest were used to examine the effectiveness of the chatbot by comparing any changes made in error frequencies of the target grammar in participants' English compositions. The results show that after a conversation with the chatbot, the experimental group significantly reduced the mean of omission errors in both prepositions and articles. To have a great effect in other error categories, chatbot feedback needs to be improved to reduce short responses or inaccurate utterances of students and induce them to actively participate in the conversation.

  • In this study, we attempted to examine the changing ways of thinking about lecture evaluation before and after COVID-19. To this end, decision tree analysis(Decision Tree) was used among data mining techniques based on lecture evaluation data for liberal arts and major classes conducted before and after COVID-19 for A university. According to the results of the study, liberal arts changed from 'method' to 'content', and 'knowledge improvement' was an important factor both before and after majors. In particular, 'Assignment' was found to be an important factor after the COVID-19 in common in the evaluation of lectures in the liberal arts department, which means that in the future, professors will be provided with appropriate teaching methods during class, interaction with students, and feedback on assignments or test results, indicates the need for competence. Based on the results of this study, a plan to improve communication with students and activation of blended learning was suggested.

  • Purpose : This study is aimed to develop and validate the clinical practice education program and clinical competence scale of occupational therapy student. Methods : The development of the clinical practice education program used the delphi technique method, which had a total of five steps. Based on the occupational therapist's job analysis, the first stage assessed the importance of 21 experts, and the second stage examined the importance of 19 new specialists to derive constitutive factors. In the third stage, in-depth interviews were conducted with three experts based on the derived factors, and in the fourth stage, the final clinical practice education program was derived. In the final stage, the details of the clinical training program were drawn up based on the themes and were reviewed by two experts. Structured and unstructured interviews were conducted with 43 job experts. Results : The expert survey through the delphi technique was conducted three times, and content analysis and descriptive statistics were conducted to examine the distribution of responses. The final 11 educational program topics and contents were derived. Topics are confirmation of client information, evaluation and intervention, cognitive therapy, spinal cord injury, brain injury, musculoskeletal disorders, pediatric occupational therapy, interventions in activities of daily living, driving rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, occupational therapy assessment tool, safety training and management. Conclusion : The clinical practice education program reduce the difference between school education and clinical education of occupational therapy student. Occupational therapy helps college student understand occupational therapy practices and improve the quality of clinical education. Through more research and supplementation of clinical practice education programs in the future, it is suggested that clinical practice education be successfully operated in various practice institutions and used as basic data for designing and evaluating useful educational models.

  • It is not easy to achieve the essential goal of knowledge management, which is to strengthen individual competence and organizational competitiveness, only by collecting distributed knowledge in the centralized knowledge repository conducted so far. In order to establish a sustainable knowledge ecosystem, we must expand knowledge production through exchange and cooperation, not independent knowledge production. Through this, producing meaningful and high-value knowledge resources becomes possible. Therefore, this study aims to design an integrated service platform that stores science and technology knowledge resources and reproduces and evolves knowledge through opening, sharing, and utilization. In order to evaluate its excellence, Five experts evaluated the designed platform on detailed items classified into planning adequacy, platform effectiveness, platform efficiency, and roadmap adequacy. The evaluation score averaged 95.56 points for the above four evaluation items.

  • This study was attempted to identify the essence by confirming the experiences of students who participated in Habuta classes in their major subjects. From November 22, 2022 to December 6, 2022, eight nursing students were individually interviewed to collect data, and the data were analyzed by applying Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis methodology. The study's finding derived 6 categories. The specific categories were 'Coexistence of anxiety and expectation', 'Process of understanding and acquisition', 'Constant burden and discomfort', 'Progress and regression under pressure', 'Sense of security that is being recognized', 'Shift of thought to positivity'. In order for nursing students to participate in Havruta classes positively in the future, appropriate class design, active communication channels between professors and students, and strengthening of instructors' competence are required.

  • This study is a descriptive research to examine the effects of meta-cognition and resilience on clinical reasoning ability of nursing students who have completed the simulation education integrated with problem based learning. The study subjects were senior nursing students who had experienced SIM-PBL education, and data was collected by using a structured questionnaire from September to December 2021. The collected data was analyzed employing descriptive statistics, correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis using the SPSS program. The results demonstrated that meta-cognition and resilience had a significant positive correlation with clinical reasoning ability. The chief factors influencing on the clinical reasoning ability of nursing students were as follows: confidence in participating in the SIM-PBL education, meta-cognition, and resilience. In addition, the three factors explained the clinical reasoning ability at a high level of 75%. The clinical reasoning ability of nursing students may be cultivated by applying internal reinforcers of self-confidence, meta-cognition, and resilience into a SIM-PBL simulation.

  • The aim of this study was to explore the satisfaction and needs of 119 paramedics with regard to continuing education and to develop and implement a continuing education program that can enhance their competence in accordance with the purpose of continuing education. The differences in satisfaction with continuing education according to general characteristics were significantly different depending on age, qualification, and clinical experience, and in terms of continuing education topic needs, 'Advanced Trauma Life Support' was the highest need among all groups, and additional desired continuing education topics were the management of mentally ill patients and various field case-based education, indicating a high preference for practical topics that are helpful in emergency patient care work. Therefore, it is believed that efforts should be made to improve the operation of continuing education from various angles, taking into account the general characteristics of continuing education recipients, and improving the quality of continuing education by reflecting the needs of continuing education recipients and selecting practical topics for continuing education.
