A Study on the relationship between leadership styles and job attitude (벤처기업의 리더십 유형과 직무태도에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to examine the relationships between job attitude and leadership styles perceived by employees in venture firms. This study have the two purposes, 1) to investigate the relationship between leadership styles and job attitudes(Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intention), 2) to verify the effective leadership style in venture companies. We examined the impact of critical leadership styles on the job attitude of employees in venture firms. Hypotheses on four factors were tested for 26 organizations. In order to test these hypotheses, survey questionnaires were sent to employees of venture firms in Gumi. As a result, the 184 available data were collected from venture companies. Correlation analysis, ANOVA, and regression gad been performed and the results supported first, second, and third hypotheses. However, fourth hypothesis was not supported.

  • In the hotel industry, there are the production and consumption of services at the same time, considering direct contact between employees and customers. In this respect, this study was conducted based on more practical factors to grasp employees' feelings and conflicts. The results of this research are as follows. First, individual conflicts among hotel banquet employees influence devotion to the organization which has a direct effect on performance of management. Second, such devotion is closely correlated with the factors of the performance of management. Finally, managing employees' conflicts is the key factor to promote the performance of management. Under these circumstances, there should be more concern in solving problems among employees and special pro-grams for promoting job satisfaction and devotion which bring about more profits as well as a sense of achievement.

Implementation Issues to Quick Response System in Korean Fashion Industry (국내 패션산업의 Quick Response System 추진 현황과 문제점)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of Quick Response adoption, and to recognize the implementation problems of QR system in the Korean fashion industry. We reviewed the theoretical background of QR system, analyzed the current status of QR adoption, and identified critical issues to implement the system in our fashion business environment. Previous literatures and information gained from communication service organizations were used for this study The major problems recognized are lack of inter-organizational information network, closed supply channels, non-standardization of QR implementation, and low level of information technology usage including KAN, POS, and EDI. Strong mutual partnership between streams for shared common goals and clear QR mind setting of top management with commitment to information sharing are considered needed for the successful adoption of QR system in domestic fashion industry.

  • As more organizations undertake IT-enabled business process reengineering(BPR), IT-enabled BPR projects become a major concern. Especially, one of IT, Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) is recognized as a revolution solution. But the success cases of ERP project are rarely reported. In this study, ERP implementation is defined as a IS implementation project based on BPR concepts To explore the issues of implementing ERP systems, a company implementing ERP successfully in Korea is selected. The research framework consists of four components: 1) strategic plan dimension , 2) organizational environment dimension, 3) implementation process dimension, and 4) IT dimension. On this framework, to implement ERP systems successfully, the analysis of the results clearly suggests appropriate planning, top management support, change management, appropriate methodology , ERP specialist commitment, management of standard process and master data, and the extent of IT localization.

The Effect of Organisational Structure on Quality Management in Public Hospitals in a Developing Nation: A Comparative Study Between District, State and National Level Hospitals in Malaysia

  • The objective of the study was to empirically assess the practice of quality management among employees of Malaysian public hospitals at the district, state and national level hospitals. Comparative analysis on the practice of quality management was made among the three groups of hospitals. Self-administered questionnaire was the main method of data collection. Twenty-three public hospitals throughout Peninsular Malaysia participated in the survey. Practice of quality management was found to be significantly higher in district hospitals than in the national referral centre, which is based in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. However, there was no significant difference in perception of implementation outcome between the three levels of hospitals. Among the factors of quality management, teamwork was found to be significantly higher in district hospitals than in state hospitals and the national referral centre. Leadership and management commitment was found to be significantly higher in district and state hospitals than in the national referral centre. The effect of organizational structure could have an effect on practice of quality management.

  • This paper proposes six systematic steps that aimed at eliminating safety problem as far as possible. In the proposed steps, it is emphasized that attention should be paid not only to physical conditions but also to psychosocial conditions, as unsatisfaciory psychosocial work environment in many cases has proved to contribute to safety problems. The most common obstacles to obtaining positive intervention results are also described. These are lack of commitment from the line managers point of view, neglecting to engage technicians and employee concerned, ignoring to take psychosocial conditions into consideration, and ignoring the impact of the proposed changes on the wage system and the organizational system The proposed steps are based upon gradually developed and empirically tested existing method aimed at solving the problems.

A Method for Preventing Falling Accident in Small and Medium-sized Construction Companies (중소건설업체의 떨어짐 재해 예방방법)

  • According to the data released by Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency, construction workers suffering from falling disaster have been increasing continuously for the last five years, and in fact, small and medium construction companies' falling disaster forms over 97% of all every year. This means that to reduce falling disaster significantly, it is needed to get rid of disaster taking place in small and medium construction companies. Here, this study aims to analyze various causes of falling disaster in small and medium construction companies, examine how those factors are correlated with one another, and suggest how to manage the risk of falling disaster effectively. According to the study results, main factors influencing falling disaster in small and medium construction companies are found as follows: Situational Awareness/Risk Perception, Fatigue/Alertness, Communications, Equipment/Facilities, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the Direct Level, Management/Supervision, Education/Training, and Planning in the Organizational Level, and Management's Commitment to Safety in the Policy Level.

Exploring Major Keyword & Relationship in the Studies of Hotel Employees Using Semantic Network Analysis Methods

  • The purpose of this study is to extract the key words from the list of research subjects related to 'hotel workers' published in recent 10 years(2009~2018) by using the language network analysis method and to confirm the relation between the key words. In this paper, we propose a semantic network analysis that can overcome limitations of longitudinal study, analyze the recent research trends, and widely use as a research model. The results of this study are as follows ; First, in analyzing major key words in the title of 'Hotel Employer' in recent 10 years, the major keyword of job satisfaction(40), special grade(26), organizational commitment(20), emotional labor(19), service(12), restaurant(10), and turnover intention(9). Second, we analyzed the relation of language network among major key words extracted from the study title of 'hotel workers'. Such a research process is expected to grasp the trends of research related to 'hotel workers' and give implications for the future direction of related research.

  • In this paper, the effects of educational contents on job behavior, the effects of job behavior on job effectiveness and the effects of educational contents on job effectiveness were studied when working in the Software field. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted on the learning workers who conducted the training in the IT field, and 302 valid questionnaires were used for the analysis. The research model was set up to test exploratory factor and confirmatory factor analysis and hypothesis, and the research hypothesis was tested by applying structural equation. The effects of job behavior on job effectiveness were positively related to job satisfaction, customer orientation, and organizational commitment.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 공공도서관 직원의 독서활동이 직무만족도와 조직몰입도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하는 것이다. 이는 기업에서 직원의 독서활동을 활성화하여 조직의 경쟁력을 높이는 경영기법인 독서경영과 문화경영이 직원의 직무만족과 조직몰입을 높인다는 선행연구들의 결과를 기반으로 하였다. 이에 서울시 동북부 지역 지자체 운영 공공도서관의 직원을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 신뢰도 분석과 다중회귀분석을 통하여 데이터를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 공공도서관 직원의 독서량, 독서시간이 직무자체 만족도에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 이용자 독서모임 참여 기간이 사회적 인식 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 조직몰입에 대해서는 독서시간이 정서적 몰입도에, 이용자 독서모임 참여 기간은 지속적 몰입도와 규범적 몰입도에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있었다.
