A Teaching Method of Basic Mathematics Subject for Students of Business Administration (경상계열 학생들을 위한 기초수학 교과목 지도방안)

  • In order to propose effective learning methods to teach basic mathematics course for students of business administration, we conducted the survey on recognition and attitude on mathematics subjects, and analyzed academic achievements of the business mathematics as a basic mathematics course in relation to the results of the survey. First, we investigated learning contents and problems difficult for students to understand in the course, and presented the instructional method and significance of them with examples. These learning contents and problems were collected from the students using the mathematics cafe. Furthermore, we analyzed types of the incorrect answers on the midterm and final examinations in the business mathematics. Although it is difficult to generalize the finding to all of the business administration students due to differences in academic level and educational environment, much work has been put in to present learning method of the business mathematics for students of business administration.

  • In this paper, In this paper, we study the recognition of undergraduate students and professors about the relation between mathematics learning contents of high school liberal arts course and major fields of college of business administration. We chose 155 undergraduate students and 6 professors at college of business administration in M university and investigate their recognition about the relation between mathematics learning contents of high school liberal arts course and major fields of college of business administration. We found following facts. First, mathematics education in high school should be based on understanding of mathematical conceptions and principles rather than problem-solving skills to intensifying the relation between mathematics of high school liberal arts course and major fields of college of business administration. Second, we have impressed upon them, whom are going to college of business administration, the need for more mathematics to study a major field.

  • In Korea, many local university mathematics faculty knew that the institution faced serious student shortage problems and the restructuring and cut actions for such a mathematics major programs. In general, undergraduate mathematics education in korea is in the crisis. In general, lots of mathematics departments in korea was not prepared for such a severe risk. In this article, university mathematics education and research business are studied in the context of the size of korea-usa population, economy(such as GDP), SCI indices. Korea-usa university mathematics education profile data are presented to compare korea-usa university mathematics education business. Lots of precious data on mathematics education are being helped to prepare for the university mathematics education crisis.

  • By employing a fixed point theorem in a weighted Banach space, we establish the existence of a solution for a system of impulsive singular fractional differential equations. Some examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency of the results obtained.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish some relationships between proper efficiency of set-valued optimization problems and proper efficiency of vector variational-like inequalities under the assumptions of generalized cone-preinvexity. Our results extend and improve the corresponding results in the literature.

  • From the ordinary notion of uniformly strong mixing for a sequence of random variables, a new concept called conditionally uniformly strong mixing is proposed and the relation between uniformly strong mixing and conditionally uniformly strong mixing is answered by examples, that is, uniformly strong mixing neither implies nor is implied by conditionally uniformly strong mixing. A couple of equivalent definitions and some of basic properties of conditionally uniformly strong mixing random variables are derived, and several conditional covariance inequalities are obtained. By means of these properties and conditional covariance inequalities, a conditional central limit theorem stated in terms of conditional characteristic functions is established, which is a conditional version of the earlier result under the non-conditional case.
