A new accepter unit, pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrrole-2,5-dione, was prepared and utilized for the synthesis of the conjugated polymers containing electron donor-acceptor pair for OPVs. Pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrrole-2,5-dione unit, regioisomer of the known pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione, is originated from the structure of stable synthetic pigment. The new conjugated polymers with 1,4-diphenylpyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrrole-2,5-dione, thiophene and carbazole were synthesized using Suzuki polymerization to generate P1 and P2. The solid films of P1 and P2 show absorption bands with maximum peaks at about 377, 554 and 374, 542 nm and the absorption onsets at 670 and 674 nm, corresponding to band gaps of 1.85 and 1.84 eV, respectively. To improve the hole mobility of the polymer with 1,4-bis(4-butylphenyl)-pyrrolo[3,2-b]-pyrrole-2,5-dione unit, which was previously reported by us, the butyl group at the 4-positions of the N-substituted phenyl group was substituted with hydrogen and methyl group. The field-effect hole mobility of P2 is $9.6{\times}10^{-5}cm^2/Vs$. The device with $P2:PC_{71}BM$ (1:2) showed $V_{OC}$ value of 0.84 V, $J_{SC}$ value of 5.10 $mA/cm^2$, and FF of 0.33, giving PCE of 1.42%.
This paper presents a wideband low noise amplifier (LNA) that is suitable for LTE-Advanced and 5G communication standards employing carrier aggregation (CA). The proposed LNA encompasses a common input stage and a dual output second stage with a buffer at each distinct output. This architecture is targeted to operate in both intra-band (contiguous and non-contiguous) and inter-band CA. In the proposed design, the input and second stages employ a gm enhancement with resistive feedback technique to achieve self-biasing, enhanced gain, wide bandwidth as well as reduced noise figure of the proposed LNA. An up/down power controller controls the single input single out (SISO) and single input multiple outputs (SIMO) modes of operation for inter-band and intra-band operations. The proposed LNA is designed with a 45nm CMOS technology. For SISO mode of operation, the LNA operates from 0.52GHz to 4.29GHz with a maximum power gain of 17.77dB, 2.88dB minimum noise figure and input (output) matching performance better than -10dB. For SIMO mode of operation, the proposed LNA operates from 0.52GHz to 4.44GHz with a maximum voltage gain of 18.30dB, a minimum noise figure of 2.82dB with equally good matching performance. An $IIP_3$ value of -6.7dBm is achieved in both SISO and SIMO operations. with a maximum current of 42mA consumed (LNA+buffer in SIMO operation) from a 1.2V supply.

In this paper, we analyzed and measured implant isolation characteristics for a 1.25 Gbps monolithic integrated hi-directional (M-BiDi) optoelectronic system-on-a-chip, which is a key component to constitute gigabit passive optical networks (PONs) for a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH). Also, we derived an equivalent circuit of the implant structure under various DC bias conditions. The 1.25 Gbps M-BiDi transmit-receive SoC consists of a laser diode with a monitor photodiode as a transmitter and a digital photodiode as a digital data receiver on the same InP wafer According to IEEE 802.3ah and ITU-T G.983.3 standards, a receiver sensitivity of the digital receiver has to satisfy under -24 dBm @ BER=10-12. Therefore, the electrical crosstalk levels have to maintain less than -86 dB from DC to 3 GHz. From analysed and measured results of the implant structure, the M-BiDi SoC with the implant area of 20 mm width and more than 200 mm distance between the laser diode and monitor photodiode, and between the monitor photodiode and digital photodiode, satisfies the electrical crosstalk level. These implant characteristics can be used for the design and fabrication of an optoelectronic SoC design, and expended to a mixed-mode SoC field.

Generic medicine (GM), which is an alternative drug product for branded medicine (BM), is used less in Japan than in other OECD countries. Therefore, we investigate why the medical consumers of Japan avoid the use of GMs even though the efficacy and safety of the medicines have already been proven. We theorize that effectiveness or risk of GMs are related to the consumer attitude toward GMs is affected by the behavioral approach/activation system (BAS) which promotes actions to reach the desired state, and the behavioral inhibition system (BIS) which suppresses behaviors to avoid negative outcomes. To see which of the BAS and BIS dimensions are related to GM usage, we surveyed 374 Japanese consumers and found that Quality, Efficacy, Safety, & Cost-effectiveness with the BAS, and Functional Risk, Financial Risk, Social Risk, Physical Risk, Psychological Risk, & Time Risk with the BIS had a significant effect on consumer attitude to GMs. These results are important in that they 1), confirm the role of BAS/BIS in attitudes to GMs, 2), provide guidelines when marketing GMs, 3), help governments promote the use of GMs as a cost-saving measure, and 4), guide future surveys regarding consumer attitudes to GMs.

In this paper an exciter which performs modulation and amplification is composed of high power(30dBm) VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) using push-pull circuit. Modulation is FSK using PLL(Phase Locked Loop). A single loop PLL synthesizer having sequency range of 42.5-100.5MHz, 25KHz channel spacing and switching time of 1msec converts down the exciter VCO frequency to 1.25MHz. This signal mixed with the FSK modulated signal coming in the phase detector of exciter. The acquisition time of exciter for frequency hoppng is less than 200usec, so the total acquisition time for transmission is less that 1.5msec. There is no need of additional power amplification because power amlifiction by high power VCO is high enough to communicate within near distance. The proposed frequency synthesizer is not complex so it is suitable for low cost slow frequency hopping spread spectrum communication.

A 6-bit MMIC digital attenuator applicable to X-band TR module has been developed by using $0.5{\mu}m$GaAs pHEMT processes. The Switched-T attenuator scheme and the switched-path attenuator scheme were adopted to obtain low insertion loss and small phase variation, respectively. Resistors and transmission lines are optimized to achieve the digital attenuator with high attenuation accuracy and small phase variation. The digital attenuator has RMS error of 0.4dB, resolution of 0.5dB and dynamic range of 31.5dB. The measurement results show that in-out VSWRs are less than 1.5, phase variation is from -7 to +2 degrees and IIP3 is 36.5dBm.

lTO(Indium-Tin-Oxide) was used as anode material for OLED. Characteristics of ITO have great effect on efficiency of OLEDS(Organic light emitting diodes). ITO surface was treated by Nd:YAG laser in order to improve its chemical properties, wettability, adhesive property and to remove the surface contaminants while maintaining its original function. In this study, main purpose was to improve the efficiency of OLEDs by the ITO surface treatment: ITO surface was treated using a Nd:YAG(${\lambda}=266nm$, pulse) with a fixed power of 0.06[w] and various stage scanning velocities. Surface morphology of the ITO was investigated by AFM. Test OLEDs with surface treated ITO were fabricated by deposition of TPD (HTL), Ald3 (ETL/TML) and Al (cathode) thin films. Device performance of the OLEDs such as V-I-L was investigated using Source Measurement Unit (SMU: Keithly. Model 2400) and Luminance Measurement (TOPCON. BM-8).
The development of radiation-tolerant radio-frequency (RF) systems can be a solution for applications in extreme radiation environments, such as nuclear power plant monitoring and space exploration. Among the crucial components within an RF system, the low noise amplifier (LNA) stands out due to its vulnerability to TID effects, mainly relying on transistors as its main devices. In this study, the TID effects in the LNA using standard 0.18 ㎛ complementary metal oxide semiconductors (CMOS) technology are estimated and analyzed. The results show that the LNA can withstand absorbed radiation up to 100 kGy. The S21, S11, noise figure (NF), stability (K), and linearity of the third input intercept point (IIP3) slightly shifted from the initial values of 0.8312 dB, 0.793 dB, 0.00381 dB, 1.34406, and 2.36066 dBm, respectively which are still comparable to the typical performances. Moreover, the standard 0.18 ㎛ technology has demonstrated its radiation tolerance, as it exhibits negligible performance degradation in the conventional LNA even when exposed to radiation levels up to 100 kGy. In this context, simulation approach offers a means to predict the TID effects and estimate the radiation exposure limit for electronic devices, particularly when transistors are used as the primary RF components.

Since phase noise is one of the most important parameters in the design of microwave oscillators, several methods have been proposed to reduce the phase noise. These methods have focused on improving the quality factor of resonators, which result in low phase noise oscillators. Dielectric resonators have been widely used for low phase noise in microwave oscillators due to their high quality factor. However this cannot be used in MMIC oscillators because they have a 3D structure. In this paper, to overcome this problem a novel resonator using open ring type DGS is proposed for improvement of phase noise characteristics that is weak point of oscillator using planar type microstrip line resonator, and oscillator for 5.8GHz band is designed using proposed DGS resonator. The open ring type DGS resonator is composed of DGS cell etched on ground plane under $50{\Omega}$ microstrip line. At the fundamental frequency of 5.8GHz, 6.1dBm output power and -82.7 dBc@100kHz phase noise have been measured for oscillator with ring type DGS resonator. The phase noise characteristics of oscillator is improved about 96.5dB compared to one using the general ${\lambda}/4$ microstrip resonator.

This paper presents a characteristic evaluation of commercial gallium nitride (GaN) transistors having two different gate-lengths of $0.4-{\mu}m$ and $0.25-{\mu}m$ in the design of a class-S power amplifier (PA). Class-S PA is operated by a random pulse-width input signal from band-pass delta-sigma modulation and has to deal with harmonics that consider quantization noise. Although a transistor having a short gate-length has an advantage of efficient operation at higher frequency for harmonics of the pulse signal, several problems can arise, such as the cost and export license of a $0.25-{\mu}m$ transistor. The possibility of using a $0.4-{\mu}m$ transistor on a class-S PA at 955 MHz is evaluated by comparing the frequency characteristics of GaN transistors having two different gate-lengths and extracting the intrinsic parameters as a shape of the simplified switch-based model. In addition, the effectiveness of the switch model is evaluated by currentmode class-D (CMCD) simulation. Finally, device characteristics are compared in terms of current-mode class-S PA. The analyses of the CMCD PA reveal that although the efficiency of $0.4-{\mu}m$ transistor decreases more as the operating frequency increases from 955 MHz to 3,500 MHz due to the efficiency limitation at the higher frequency region, it shows similar power and efficiency of 41.6 dBm and 49%, respectively, at 955 MHz when compared to the $0.25-{\mu}m$ transistor.
