  • In this paper, we research improvement in efficiency of single-phase induction motor by adapting the condition of the balanced and quasi-balanced operation. we maintain turns of auxiliary winding of the motor and adjust resistance and reactance. In this condition, resistance value and copper loss are much gloater. Namely, this is the condition only for balancing MMF without consideration of copper loss of stator winding. To make more practical design, therefore, we will perform winding design which is based on balanced operation condition and applies copper loss minimum. The problem of deterioration of starting torque is completed by rotor bar shape design.

  • In mobile ad hoc networks where the communication nodes are moving around, one may perform dynamic routing that can increase the total communication throughput of the network, by determining the ranks of pairs of nodes according to their communication throughput. The balanced Howell rotation is a tournament design scheme for bridge games. This paper explains that the balanced Howell rotation can be applied to enhance the overall communication throughput of mobile ad hoc networks, and proposes and proves the condition under which the balanced Howell rotations may exist.

  • The two-way balanced one-level rotation design, $r_1^m-r_2^{m-1}$, and the three-way balanced multi-level rotation design, $r_1^m(\iota)-r_1^{m-1}$, were discussed (Park et al., 2001, 2003). Although these rotation designs enjoy balancing properties, they have a restriction of $r_2=c{\cdot}r_1$ (c should be a integer value) which interferes with applying these designs freely to various situations. To overcome this difficulty, we extend the $r_1^m(\iota)-r_1^{m-1}$ design to new one under the most general rotation system. The new multi-level rotation design also satisfies tree-way balancing which is done on interview time, rotation group and recall time. We present the rule and rotation algorithm which guarantee the three-way balancing. In particular, we specify the necessary condition for the extended three-way balanced multi-level rotation sampling design.

  • The 2-way balanced one-level rotation design has been discussed (Park et al., 2001), where the 2-way balancing is done on interview time in monthly sample and rotation group. We extend it to 3-way balanced multi-level design to obtain more information of the same sample unit for one or more previous months. The 3-way balancing is accomplished not only on interview time in monthly sample and rotation group but also on recall time as well. The 3-way balancing eliminates or reduces any bias arising from unbalanced interview time, rotation group and recall time, and all rotation groups are equally represented in the monthly sample. We present the rule and rotation algorithm which guarantee the 3-way balancing. In particular, we specify the necessary and sufficient condition for the 3-way balanced multi-level rotation design.

  • Neutral line current is analyzed by the neutral line CF in nonlinear load balanced and unbalanced conditions. The worst nonlinear load condition is nonlinear balanced load condition, and It is below CFNL=1.194 that a neutral line current could not excess the rated value

  • In this paper, single phase induction motor achieved improvement in efficiency by adapting the condition of Balanced operation and Quasi-balanced operation. Also, the process of efficiency improvement to find the optimum point of secondary resistance and running capacitor for working single phase induction motor is performed in order to attain the conclusion to put out the maximum efficiency at the rated operation point with meeting the starting torque.

We present the necessary condition and rotation algorithm which guarantee the three-way balancing. We propose multi-level composite estimators (MCE) from this design and derive their variances and mean squared errors (MSE), assuming the correlation from the measurements of the same sample unit and three types of biases in monthly sample.

  • In this paper, a composite right-/left-handed(CRLH) rectangular waveguide satisfying a balanced condition above the cut-off frequency is presented. The proposed structure consists of one shorted stub and two twisted H-plane irises which produce an effectively negative permeability and permittivity, respectively. The CRLH structure can independently control the series and shunt resonance frequencies of a CRLH transmission line which determine the left-handed(LH) and right-handed(RH) bands due to a minimized coupling between a shorted stub and twisted H-plane irises. Thus, the design of the CRLH waveguide satisfying a balanced condition is possible. To analyze the CRLH structure, a crossly connected equivalent circuit is derived. The simulated and measured results confirm that the proposed CRLH waveguide has a transmission property without a band gap among the LH and RH bands.

  • In this paper, we derive a characterization of orthonormal balanced multiwavelets of order p in terms of the continuous moments of the multiscaling function $\phi$. As a result, the continuous moments satisfy the discrete polynomial preserving properties of order p (or degree p - 1) for orthonormal balanced multiwavelets. We derive polynomial reproduction formula of degree p - 1 in terms of continuous moments for orthonormal balanced multiwavelets of order p. Balancing of order p implies that the series of scaling functions with the discrete-time monomials as expansion coefficients is a polynomial of degree p - 1. We derive an algorithm for computing the polynomial of degree p - 1.
