  • As $40%{\sim}60%$ of the construction project expense is used for the purchase and procurement of construction materials, construction companies are attracted by the promise of online procurement of construction materials through the B2B e-Marketplace. B2B e-Marketplace can save construction companies time and money spent through the off-line procurement. Construction B2B e-Marketplaces can energize the construction market dominated by major construction companies. It will expand the business scope of small and medium construction material suppliers and construction companies. Current B2B e-Marketplaces underperform in all industries due to low participation. Excluding some construction B2B e-Marketplaces led by major construction companies, most construction B2B e-Marketplaces show poor performance in terms of revenue and transaction. Researches are needed in the area of discovering the problems of current construction B2B e-Marketplace and identifying the factors for participating in the construction B2B e-Marketplace. This research conducts a case study to analyze the current status of construction B2B e-Marketplace.

Through analysis for 'B2B e-Commerce Guarantee Intermediary Service based on RFID', the study developed KPI and made the case. The study suggests KPI of B2B e-Commerce Guarantee Intermediary Service based on RFID by IT BSC(Balanced Scorecard) model. The process of developing KPI is 4 phase. First phase is connection between service goal and KPI, second phase is make a KPI pool, third phase is development of standard for valuating and selecting index, the last phase is defining and applying of index. This study suggests the standard of measuring performance in B2B e-commerce Guarantee Service and guidelines on revitalization of service in B2B e-commerce industry and the other industry.

  • Not only Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) within a company but also business-to-business integration (B2Bi) should be achieved for companies to collaborate seamlessly through the Internet. There have been great efforts in this area of EAI and B2Bi, resulting in lots of solutions in the market. However, EAI and B2Bi systems have been designed and operated in independent platforms and environments causing a serious problem of integrating EAI and B2Bi systems. In this paper we have proposed a business integration platform for connecting EAI and B2Bi systems in a uniform architecture and also coping with changes in business environments. In the integration platform proposed in this work, collaboration processes between B2B companies can be performed using Web Services technology widely considered as B2B integration platform. Especially, we have defined basic business execution elements based on a thorough analysis of various business integration standards and developed an efficient and extensible business process engine for B2B collaboration process management. A Web-based order processing system is developed for validation of our integration platform. It is expected that the level of B2B collaboration can be enhanced using the integration platform and furthermore it will contribute to more collaborative B2B commerce.

  • Today's enterprises take processes beyond their own organizational boundaries in order to electronically trade goods and services with partners under the concept of B2B e-commerce. In this environment, inter-organizational business processes are required and should be well defined not only in public processes between partners but in private processes within individual partners. For this purpose, we propose the method to represent inter-organizational business processes. First of all, a feasible modeling method for the inter-organizational workflow for B2B e-commerce is developed. This method is proposed based on BPSS in ebXML so that the binary and multiparty collaborations share a common process. In this method, message flows and control flows are separated in order to facilitate the design procedure of the inter-organizational workflow process. Second, a well-structured process modeling algorithm to design a well-structured inter-organizational workflow process is proposed. In the algorithm, a process is transformed to a Petri-net-based process model. This algorithm employs well-behaved modeling blocks, well-behaved control structures, and business transactions to develop well-structured process models by a top-down design.

  • The inter-organizational business process is one of the hot issues in B2B e-commerce. In this paper, through the survey of the inter-organizational business process integration and the analysis of B2Bi related standards, e.g., BPML, WSDL, WSCI, and BPSS, we propose a method of linking BPML and BPSS specifications that can be used to integrate private processes with the public processes among enterprises. We also suggest an application example of the method by redefining a PIP of RosettaNet to the BPSS specification. The basic principle of the method is to maintain the independency of the existing BPML and BPSS applications and to construct an intermediary transformation module between the two applications.

  • B2B registries provide spaces to register and retrieve information which is necessary to support B2B transactions among business partners or potential business partners. Business process specifications are one of important contents in B2B registries, and there is high complexity of representation due to complex and dynamic characteristics of business processes. Also, currently there exist several competing specification frameworks such as ebXML BPSS, WSBPEL, BPMN, and so on. This paper proposes a metadata schema to register business process specifications which are represented by different specification frameworks. The proposed schema has extensibility to register business process specifications which are represented by various different specification frameworks. Also, it extends reuse level from whole business specification processes to their components. To show the usefulness of the proposed schema, this paper demonstrates metadata extraction from business process specifications which are represented by two representative XML-based business process specification languages, ebXML BPSS and WSBPEL.

  • Emerging digital economy, e-business, especially business to business(B2B) electronic commerce is understood one most single critical competitive weapon for organizations' global competitiveness. According to government white paper, Korea's electronic commerce records expansion stage in its volume and variety. Although Korea has remarkable EC records, still some differences are existed compare to the developed countries. IT in the developed countries, played an engine for the economic restructuring as well as for the economic growth. But in Korea, it's not fully utilized by the reasons of economic and noneconomic bottlenecks. Under the digital economic surroundings, EC or e-Business, is a business system to achieve the economic efficiency in the levels of an organization as well as a nation.
