  • This study investigated the detection of corona discharge on polymer insulators at 13.2kV. Also, It will be analyzed by variety analyzers such as FT-IR, TA, and so on. It carried out an experiment and an actual measurement about corona detection using a UV-camera. This experiment and inspection would need to respect the above criteria. It was required to verify various experimental conditions and on-site inspection afterwards, but it was believed to minimize the measurement error by data-basing research results in a continuous manner and it was necessary to establish diagnosis technologies and standards in various electrical power facilities.

  • The purpose of this paper is to describe a new measuring method of ground resistance for the grounding system in energized power equipment and substations. It is very difficult to measure the accurate ground resistance in energized power equipment and substations because of the noise conducted from all external connections to the grounding system and harmonics components caused by unbalanced loads and overloads. The ground resistance that is measured with existing methods includes not only the effect of desired signals but also noise components for the measurement period in grounding system. The measured value of ground resistance can entirely be different from actual value. In this paper, to eliminate 60[Hz] power system interference and harmonic components the low-pass filter method was used in the measurement of ground resistance.

The Concept of Hardiness : A Review of the Literature for Nursing (강인성 (hardiness)에 대한 문헌고찰)

  • The purposes of this literature review were to identify the theoretical basis and components of the concept hardiness, trends in the study of hardiness it's application in nursing and issues in measurement. The concept of hardiness has been derived deductively from existential psychology and is composed of three components, control, commitment and challenge. In research, the characteristic of hardiness has been demonstrated as a motivating factor in resolving stressful situations and in adapting to actual health problems. With regard to the measurement of hardiness, because of it's low level of predictability related to health outcomes, it is recommanded that the component of be omited from the concept of hardiness. On the basis of this literature review, the following suggestions are proposed. 1. Considering the lack of empirical suport, the theory of hardiness needs to be evaluated. 2. There is a need for further study of hardiness in a broad variety of populations. 3. A valid, reliable and culturally appropriate instrument needs to be developed for health related research. 4. Analysis is needed of the relationship between hardiness and stress-resistance, and of the factors related to both.

  • The measurement of very fast transients generated by disconnecting switches in gas-insulated switchgear(GIS) have to deal with the problems such as reliability, interference pich-up, optimal design of high voitage equipments. This paper presents a new developed voltage sensor to measure the very fast transients, the basic theory of the measuring method, the design, structure of planar capacitive voltage probe are described. Finally the examples of modelling tests on an actual site GIS are discussed.

  • Recently, small hydropower attracts attention because of its renewable, clean and abundant energy resources to develop. Therefore, a tubular type hydro turbine is proposed for small hydropower in this study because the turbine has relatively simple structure and high possibility of applying to small hydropower. The purpose of this study is to investigate the performance characteristics of the turbine by field test. Field test iss conducted using one tubular turbine system as well as serial arrangement system by two tubular turbines taking into consideration of actual operation conditions. The results show that efficiency of test turbine changes considerably by the runner vane angle. Best efficiency of one turbine arrangement is higher than that of two turbine serial arrangement.

  • This study has measured and evaluated the sound insulation of building elements of the hotel near airport. That measurement was made in both the actual site and laboratory. The differences of sound insulation performance in between granite and double glass were measured. Moreover, the difference of sound insulation was analyzed. For the measurement, this study has tried several methodologies, and analyzed the differences respectively. The results from this analysis were applied to produce a design guides for sound insulation to prevent external noise and to make more silent indoor space which satisfied the standard rate of noise.

  • A magnetostrictive sensor is used to measure stress waves propagating in a ferromagnetic cylinder without physical contact. The performance of a magnetostrictive sensor is affected most significantly by the bias magnetic field applied around the measurement location. The goal of this paper is to carry out the topology optimization of the bias magnet and yoke assembly to maximize the sensor output for traveling bending waves. We will use the multi-resolution topology optimization strategy to find the assembly of the bias magnet and the yoke that is easy to realize. The effectiveness of the present design is confirmed by an actual measurement of the sensor signal with the proposed bias magnet and yoke configuration.

  • Regarding thin films in MEMS/NEMS structures, the exact evaluation of mechanical properties is very essential to enhance the reliability of their design and manufacturing. However, such methods as a tensile test and a resonance test, general methods to measure elastic moduli, cannot be applied to thin films since its thickness is so small. This work concerns guided wave based elastic modulus measurement method. To this end, guided wave excitation and detection system using a pulsed laser and a laser interferometry has been established. Also an elastic modulus extraction algorithm from the measured guided wave signal was developed. Finally, it was applied to actual thin film structures such as Ni-Si and Al-Si multilayers. From experimental results, we confirm that the proposed method has considerable feasibility to measure elastic properties of thin films.

  • It is well known that the entrained air in oil causes appreciable reduction in the stiffness of hydraulic systems. It makes the response delay of the systems and sometimes destroys the stability. Because the hydraulic systems of automatic transmissions are operated in relatively low pressure and high temperature, it is very important to analyze the effects of the air included in automatic transmission fluid. However, it is difficult to derive the generalized model to describe the effective bulk modulus theoretically or measure it in actual operating conditions of automatic transmissions. This paper reviews previous studies of the air effects in hydraulic systems and the measurement techniques of the effective bulk modulus in operating conditions. Based on this work, the theoretical model with moderate complexity and the measurement technique of the effective bulk modulus considering entrained air effect at real operating conditions are suggested. Our paper also shows that the quantity of the entrained air in the automatic transmission fluid can be estimated from the experimental results.

Measurement and Analysis of Electric and Magnetic Fields near a Transmission Tower (송전철탑 주변에서 전장과 자장의 측정과 분석)

  • In this paper, measurement and analysis of ELF electric and magnetic fields due to a transmission line have been carried out and the power frequency field strength measuring system is designed. In order to evaluate electric and magnetic fields associated with 60 Hz electric power transmission and distribution lines, the actual survey near a transmission tower has been made and analyzed. It may be inferred from these results that the maximum electric and magnetic fields strength in the vicinity of a line tower do not exceed 3.5[kV/m] and 20[${\mu}T$]. The results of the field measurements agree with limits and guidelines recommended by various authorized international institutes.
