  • Human activity pattern has been changed as the contemporary urban society changes. Diverse activities repeat regular patterns as time passes. Diagram is a simple drawing which aims to organize and unify various information. The elements of the social behaviour could be spatialized by means of diagram applications. By using diagrams, architects understand contemporary urban society and form new space conditions. Time-based activity patterns consists of activity pattern in a restricted space and in urban structure for space use. Activity patterns for different time zones are explained by two types of diagrams, space occupation and flexibility of space, By the characteristic of space system structred by these diagrams, activities and programs are rearranged and variety of space is allowed through flexibility. Also, programs are mixed to apply to simultaneous occurrence of ever-changing human activities.

실험주거 행위 다이어그램의 유형별 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Types of Activity Diagrams for Experimental Residential Design)

  • This study is focused on the characteristics of organization types of activity diagrams for experimental residential design. Diagrams became one of the crucial design methods to rationally generate a definite spatial form that contains indefinite human activities In contemporary architecture. Particularly in residential design, activity diagrams based on the occupants' behavioral patterns have been critically important. 'Scientific Management in the Home' by mathematical calculation and the Archigram's 'Living 1990' equipped with innovative technologies are the representative examples in modern architecture. The study is focused on the experimental residential projects since 2000 and three main types of activity organization were discovered: 'Weaving through Circulation';'Flexible Space by Equipment' and 'Activity Selection by Open-Close System'. Two projects from each type are analyzed in detail to further develop the comparison study. The study is concluded that, although the architect's preconceived . philosophical background has an important role, activity organization should smoothly derive from the unique conditions of the project such as the characteristic of the occupant itself.

관계형 데이터베이스 응용시스템을 위한 통합 설계방법론 개발 -객체지향 분석.설계 방법론을 중심으로- (Development of Integrated Design Methodology for Relational Database Application -Focusing on Object-Oriented Analysis and Design Methodology-)

  • 본 논문에서는 UML(Unified Modeling Language)을 토대로 유스케이스(use case) 중심의 객체지향 분석 설계 방법론을 기반으로 한, 관계형 데이터베이스 통합 설계방법론에 대하여 다룬다. 본 통합 설계방법론에서 사용하는 개념모델은 비즈니스 프로화일(business profile)에 기반을 두고 있으며, 6단계로 구성되어 있다. 첫 번째 단계에서는 비즈니스 유스케이스(business use case)가 식별되어 마크로액티비티 다이어그램(macroactivity diagram)으로 표현되고, 두 번째 단계에서 마크로액티비티 다이어그램은 비즈니스 객체(business object)와 비즈니스 객체흐름(business object flow) 그리고 비즈니스 사용자책임(business worker's responsibilities)을 이용하여 상세 비즈니스 활동다이어그램(detailed business activity diagram)으로 변환된다. 세 번째 단계에서는 상세 비즈니스 활동다이어그램을 기반으로 시스템 전체의 정적 구조를 설명하는 비즈니스 클래스다이어그램(business class diagram)으로 변환된다. 네 번째 단계에서 비즈니스 클래스다이어그램은 대응하는 관계형 데이터베이스 초기 개념모델을 대표하는 클래스다이어그램으로 변환된다. 다섯 번째 단계에서 클래스다이어그램에 일반화와 특수화, 역할과 활동, 클래스 추가 그리고 중복 연관에 따른 추가적인 변환이 이루어지고, 마지막으로 관계형 데이터베이스 스키마로 변환이 이루어지게 된다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법론을 적용함으로써, 객체지향 분석 설계 방법론과 관계형 데이터베이스 설계방법론 사이에 유기적 연결이 이루어지게 되어, 객체지향 분석 설계 방법론 관계형 데이터베이스설계 방법론을 통합적으로 다룰 수 있게 된다. 이에따라 관계형 데이터베이스 기반의소프트웨어 시스템에 대한 객체지향 방식의 일관된 그리고 통합된 구축방안이 제공된다. 사례 연구로 제안한 통합 설계 방법론을 비자발급시스템에 대하여 적용한다.

  • OMG가 UML 액티비티 다이어그램에 대한 텍츄얼한 시멘틱을 제공하지만 정확한 시멘틱의 부족으로 인하여 모호해지는 단점이 있다. OMG의 UML 액티비티 다이어그램이 제공하는 가이드로는 워크플로우 시스템의 정확한 시멘틱을 제공하지는 못한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 대안적인 방법으로 ASM을 사용하여 UML 액티비티 다이어그램의 정형화를 제시한다. 또한 워크플로우 시스템의 특성에 맞춰 ASM 시멘틱을 확장한다.

탱그램과 모자이크퍼즐의 활용에 관한 연구 (An Analysis Research of Mathematics Classes utilizing Tangrams and Mosaic Puzzles)

  • In this study we tried to find the method of using the tangrams and the mosaic puzzles together for learning the elementary geometry in the Korean primary schools. The tangram and the mosaic puzzle activity-panels were developed and the activity-cards for them also were designed. The criteria to be used for the analyses of contents of the activity-cards were developed. We surveyed and analyzed the students' responses, A previous research had insisted that solely using the tangrams were not useful in learning about an obtuse-angled triangle in the elementary geometry (Welchman, 1999), but the combinative uses of the tangrams and the mosaic puzzles were found to extend the limits of the previous study in investigating the figures of the plain diagrams. Actually, the tangrams and the mosaic puzzles helped the students to learn the concepts of several elements of the plain diagrams such as 'angles', 'sides', and 'angular points', with students'operational comparison of the diagrams developed with them. They also provided useful clues in learning the relationship between the 'length' and the 'area' of the Plain diagrams. The students participated in the class with much activities, using the operational learning materials. They also comprehended the concepts and the principles of the elementary geometry more thoroughly, expressing their ideas in spoken or written languages through interactive communication. In conclusion, the tangram and mosaic puzzles can be used for learning the elementary geometry of the primary school level as motivative learning materials, helping students enhance diverse mathematical thinking and discover mathematical principles.

평가인증기준에서 바라본 대전시 보육시설사례의 시설공간구성과 보육실 영역구성 조사 (Analysis of Space Organization and Classroom Zoning of Childcare Centers in Daejeon City by the Childcare Accreditation Criteria)

  • This study examines diagrams of space organization and classroom activity zoning through Korean Childcare Accreditation Criteria, and compares space diagrams with childcare facilities in Daejeon, and looks at similarities and differences between them. Space diagram from accreditation criteria show the classroom, adjoining toilets, napping areas, and community areas for playing, reading, cooking, teaching and holding materials. Classroom zone diagrams show 8 activity zones for entering, washing and toilet, making art, playing, reading, studying science, resting, playing role and wooden block. Six case studies in Daejeon, Korea were surveyed and classified into big, medium and small size facilities by the number of children. The space organization of case studies are similar to the diagrams, except that outdoor playground and indoor playrooms were not large enough at the small and medium size facilities. Classroom activity zoning was very similar to the conceptions, excluding the playarea from classroom, integrating the rest areas for reading, subdividing art into music and art, science, and into math and science, roleplay into roleplay and wooden block. In conclusion childcare centers in Daejeon are designed to the concept diagram of the accreditation criteria, with some flexibility, exclusion, integration, and subdivision of space and activity zones. It has been requested as to make each criteria fit to the facility sizes-big, medium and small.

A UML-based Approach towards Test Case Generation and Optimization

  • Software testing is an important phase as it ensures the software quality. The software testing process comprises of three steps: generation, execution, and evaluation of test cases. Literature claims the usage of single and multiple 'Unified Modeling Language' (UML) diagrams to generate test cases. Using multiple UML diagrams increases test case coverage. However, the existing approaches show limitations in test case generation from UML diagrams. Therefore, in this research study, we propose an approach to generate the test cases using UML State Chart Diagram (SCD), Activity Diagram (AD), and Sequence Diagram (SD). The proposed approach transforms UML diagrams into intermediate forms: SCD Graph, AD Graph, and SD Graph respectively. Furthermore, by integrating these three graphs, a System Testing Graph (STG) is formed. Finally, test cases are identified from STG by using a traversal algorithm such as Depth First Search (DFS) that is an optimization method. The results show that the proposed approach is better compared to existing approaches in terms of coverage and performance. Moreover, the generated test cases have the ability to detect faults at the unit level, integration, and system level testing.

요구분석을 위한 UML 다이어그램 저장관리 시스템 (UML Diagrams Repository System for Requirement Analysis)

  • 소프트웨어 생명주기는 요구분석, 설계, 구현, 유지보수 단계 등으로 구성되며, 각 단계의 산출물은 다양한 형태를 지니고 있다 이러한 산출물을 표준화한 것이 UML이며, 요구분석 단계에서는 클래스 다이어그램, 사용사례 다이어그램, 활동 다이어그램, 협력 다이어그램이 일반적으로 사용되고 있다. 기존의 UML 개발 도구들은 이러한 다이어그램을 파일에 저장하기 때문에, 다이어그램 정보를 검색하거나 다수의 개발자들이 참석하는 공동 작업시 어려움이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 어려움을 해결하고 요구분석 단계에서의 산출물을 효율적으로 처리하기 위하여 다이어그램 정보를 데이타베이스에 저장하고 관리하는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 클래스, 사용사례, 활동, 협력 다이어그램을 구성하고 있는 모든 요소들을 분류하고, 분류된 각 구성요소들을 관계형 테이블로 변환한다. 이렇게 변환된 테이블에 다이어그램 정보를 저장하고 다양한 형태의 질의를 통해 저장된 정보를 검색할 수 있도록 한다. 제안한 방법은 다이어그램 정보를 다수의 개발자가 공유하여 사용할 수 있으며 모델의 재사용에 편리성을 제공할 것이다.

  • The concept of a 'place' in contemporary cities has been fundamentally challenged by the social, economical changes as well as the global digital network. The complex and multi-layered contemporary everyday life blur the boundaries of the existing architectural programs. In contemporary architecture, various proposals have attempted to overcome the physical limitations. 'Activity Diagram' is one of them. Activity diagram is a diagrammatized design process In which the given program is analyzed into individual activities, then it is re-organized and finally spatialized based on the analysis. In many projects by Manuel Gausa, Ben Van Berkel and Vicente Guallart, the activity diagram is applied in various forms and they are explained with theoretical backgrounds. Based on how the given program is re-organized into assembly of activities and how diagram is applied, five analytical elements were selected to critically analyze three chosen architects' case projects. In this study, it is found that architects attempt to construct an open networked world where diverse activities are freely interconnected in spite of some fundamental limitations of activity diagrams.

한국의 미래 에너지사회 전망에 관한 연구 : 계층분석법과 인과지도의 보완적 분석을 중심으로 (A Research on the Prospect for the Future Energy Society in Korea: Focused on the Complementary Analysis of AHP and Causal Loop Diagram)

  • This research analyzed on the future energy society of Korea in 2030 using system thinking approach. Key uncertainty factors determining the future energy society were analyzed in a multi disciplinary view point such as politics, economy, society, ecology and technology. Three causal loop diagrams for the future energy system in Korea and related policy leverages were shown as well. 'Global economic trends', 'change of industrial structure' and 'energy price' were identified as key uncertainty factors determining the Korean energy future. Three causal loop diagrams named as 'rate of energy self-sufficiency and alternative energy production', 'economic activity and energy demand' and 'Excavation of new growth engines' were developed. We integrated those causal loop diagrams into one to understand the entire energy system of the future, proposed three strategic scenarios(optimistic, pessimistic and most likely) and discussed implications and limits of this research.
