The Trend Analysis about Aviation Accident and Incident in Korea Using the ECCAIRS Data (ECCAIRS Data에 의한 한국의 항공사고·준사고에 대한 경향 분석)

  • Recently, despite of the development of aviation safety, there has not been any significant decline of the aviation accident rate. Therefore, in the international society, it is more focused on removing risk factors based on data collected and analyzed, in order to improve the aviation safety. This research introduces ECCAIRS, which is a program developed by European Union to collect and analyze data regarding risk factors. This is used in Korea since 2010. Moreover, using national aviation accident data collected through ECCAIRS, this research analyzes the distribution of the aviation accidents/incidents, annual and monthly aviation accident rate, flight phase, and division system. The analyzation regarding the tendency of aviation accident/incident will give the direction to approach the quantitative safety management.

  • The CMOS RF front-end for Global Positioning System(GPS)are implemented in 1P8M CMOS $0.13{\mu}m$ process. The LNAs consist of LNA1 with high gain and low NF, and LNA2 with low gain and high IIP3 for supporting operation with active and passive antenna. the measured performances of both LNAs are 16.4/13.8 dB gain, 1.4/1.68 dB NF, and -8/-4.4 dBm IIP3 with 3.2/2 mA form 1.2 V supply, respectively. The quadrature downconversion mixer is followed by transimpedance amplifier with gain controllability from 27.5 to 41 dB. The front-end performances in LNA1 mode are 39.8 dB conversion gain, 2.2 dB NF, and -33.4 dBm IIP3 with 6.6 mW power consumption.

  • This paper presents a new color Image coding method which estimates color component Images from luminance image using spectral correlation m wavelet transformed domain More specifically, the wavelet transform is performed to the luminance image(Y), and then, for an efficient quad-tree division to encompass the varying block size, a cost function IS defined using high frequency coefficients generated by wavelet decomposition Next, a scale factor and an offset factor for each the block to minimize the estimation error between luminance image(Y) and R, B Images, are iteratively calculated With respect to the varying block size With associated cost function.

Interference Influence Analysis on the Interoperability in the Combined Military Communication Systems (통합 군 통신 시스템에서 상호운용으로 인한 간섭 영향 분석)

  • It is essential for the combined military weapon system to be equipped with interoperability for the efficient combat operation in the modern warfare environment. Since most of modern military systems utilize the electromagnetic wave for the radio communication in the network-centric warfare system, they can be vulnerable to the mutual interference among the adjacent combined military systems. In this paper, the typical radio communication systems are modeled with the modulation types of both spread and non-spread spectrum system. The various interference signals were generated for the simulation of the mutual interference influence from the adjacent radar and communication systems. The simulation results show that the detection performance of the victim communication receiver is seriously affected by the various interferences such as the types of modulation and the ratio of the overlapping bandwidth of the adjacent interferers. This result will be useful for defining the criteria of the interference protection in the combined military system for the interoperability in the future.

  • The use of a high gain flight control system to achieve high bandwidth performance increase the instability of a helicopter. To investigate these phenomena numerically, high fidelity EC155B1 helicopter model and simplified flight control system that include actuator, digital processor and noise rejection filter was developed. A study conducts an analytical investigation of roll axis stability of the helicopter model as feedback gain increases. And this study analyzes roll-rate and roll-attitude feedback gains limited by rotor flap mode. The results indicate that the phase delays caused by the filter can severely limit the usable values of the roll-rate and roll-attitude feedback gains.

  • In this paper, we compare the performance of three representative STBC schemes, Alamouti's, Tarokh's and quasi-orthogonal schemes under cellular mobile environments when they are applied to the OFDM system. We first study the encoding algorithms of the STBC schemes along with the development of adequate demodulation algorithms. The OFDM parameters are selected by considering the Wibro system and adequate modulation schemes are assigned for each STBC schemes according to the transmission rate from 2bps/Hz to 4bps/Hz. The STBC-OFDM systems employ Walsh orthogonal codes covered along the frequency domain in order to estimate the channel information for different transmit antennas. We finally compare the performance of the STBC-OFDM systems according to the transmission rate through computer simulations in various mobile channel environments.

  • High resolution synthetic aperture radar image could be sensitive to the various parameters of the payload, platform, and ground system. In this paper, a parameter based SAR simulator is presented for two-dimensional image formation and image quality analysis. Functional modules are implemented by Matalb code and GUI for the flexibility and expandability. Main function of this simulator includes the SAR input signal generation, range-doppler algorithm(RDA) based SAR image formation, and the SAR image quality analysis which is relevant to the SAR system design parameters. This simulator can effectively be used for the SAR image quality performance evaluation, which can be applicable to the airborne as well as spaceborne SAR system design and analysis.

  • Recently a system is being required to replace ILS due to increasing air traffic. In this paper, Curved approach is applied to an airport where ILS approach cannot be applied due to its geographical condition and restricted aerospace condition, and verified by flight test. After analysing conditions of Tae-an airfield of Hanseo University with virtual ILS approach, airfield applicability was evaluated by Curved approach using by GPS. Normally simulation is performed after establishing approach procedure using electric map, but recently verification is being performed by flight test without simulation because accuracy and reliability are increased. In this paper, established procedure is verified modified by flight test with Pilot Test and Auto Pilot test and controllability and passenger's stability were also checked.

  • A 2.4 GHz CMOS RF front-end using for ZigBee application is described The front-end consists of a low noise amplifier and a down-mixer and uses a 2 MHz IF frequency. A common source with resistive feedback and an inductive degeneration are adopted for a low noise amplifier, and a 20 dB gain control step is digitally controlled. A passive mixer for low current consumption is employed. The RF front-end is implemented in 0.18 ${\mu}m$IP6M CMOS process. The measured performance is 4.44 dB NF and -6.5 dBm IIP3 while consuming 3.28 mA current from a 1.8 V supply.

  • This paper describes some design concepts and design parameters of RZ-SSB which allows full carrier insertion into the single side band to overcome the severe fading in aeronautical telecommunication, and it is described in ARINC Spec. in the name of AME(AM Equivalent), and the necessary transmission bandwidth of RZ-SSB is similar to that of a aeronautical telecommunication. As an amplitude limiter manage to remove the amplitude fading without degrading the quality of output signal, the receiver acts like the FM demodulators. Using the digital Signal Processing(DSP) techniques in the design of transceiver systems has become a performance enhancement of the signal quality and reliability, and making use of DSP, it's able to design low cost, compact transceiver and reduce its weight. For avionics systems is able to eliminate the inherent disadvantages in RZ-SSB, the results of experimental tests suggest that the adoption of RZ concepts is suitable for aeronautical telecommunication transceiver systems use in HF band.
