Some Triviality Characterizations on Gradient Almost Yamabe Solitons

  • An almost Yamabe soliton is a generalization of the Yamabe soliton. In this article, we deduce some results regarding almost gradient Yamabe solitons. More specifically, we show that a compact almost gradient Yamabe soliton having non-negative Ricci curvature is trivial. Again, we prove that an almost gradient Yamabe soliton with a non-negative potential function and scalar curvature bound admitting an integral condition is trivial. Moreover, we give a characterization of a compact almost gradient Yamabe solitons.

  • In this paper, we study quasi-Sasakian 3-dimensional manifolds admitting generalized 𝜂-Ricci solitons associated to the Schouten-van Kampen connection. We give an example of generalized 𝜂-Ricci solitons on a quasi-Sasakian 3-dimensional manifold with respect to the Schouten-van Kampen connection to prove our results.

  • The procedure of conceptual and detailed design of sub-scale combustor using bipropellant swirl or impinging injector with external or internal mixing for a liquid rocket engine are described in this paper. The sub-scale combustor uses liquid oxygen(LOx) and kerosene as propellants and has a injector head, an ablative material combustor wall and a water cooled nozzle. The injector head has LOx manifold, fuel manifold, fire face plate, one center swirl or impinging injector and 18 main swirl or impinging injectors.

Study of Cooling Performance Enhancement on Injector Face Plate of Rocket Engine (로켓엔진 분사면의 냉각성능 향상에 관한 연구)

  • An optimal fuel manifold is suggested to improve the cooling performance of injector face plate. The cooling performance at the center area of the injector face plate is to be augmented while the spatial injection uniformity is maintained. The comparison of the cooling performance of 7 candidates gives the conclusion that the dividing plate from 2-3 injector row to 9-10 injector row is an optimal. The maximum face plate temperature decreases by $27\%$ while the injection uniformity is close to that of the original design. The pressure drop in the fuel manifold of the optimal design is also same as the original design.

Numerical Studies of Cell Temperature Distribution in MCFC Stack According to Electrical Loads (전기 부하에 따른 용융탄산염 연료전지 스택 온도 분포에 관한 수치 해석 연구)

  • A numerical stack model has been developed to predict the temperature at a constant-load operation of molten carbonate fuel cell stacks. For the validity of the model, the simulated results with several boundary conditions were compared in the cell temperature data obtained from 75 kW class MCFC stack operation. It was shown that the simulated results with the existing boundary condition, which the stack outlet temperature was fixed at $650^{\circ}C$, didn't match well with the measured data. On the other hand, the stack model with the outlet temperature modified by the outlet manifold temperature measured from the stack under several electric loads was found to explain the measured cell temperature distribution well. The results show that the model can be used to predict the cell temperature distribution in the stacks by the measurement of the manifold outlet temperature.

  • An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effects of EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) variables on performance and emission characteristics in a 2-liter 4-cylinder spark-ignition LPG fuelled engine. The effects of EGR on the reduction of thermal loading at exhaust manifold were also investigated because the reduced gas temperature is desirable for the reliability of an engine in light of both thermal efficiency and material issue of exhaust manifold. The steady-state tests show that the brake thermal efficiency increased and the brake specific fuel consumption decreased with the increase of EGR rate in hot EGR and with the decrease of EGR temperature in case of cooled EGR, while the stable combustion was maintained. The increase of EGR rate or the decrease of EGR temperature results in the reduction of NOx emission even in the increase of HC emission. Furthermore, decreasing EGR temperature by $180^{\circ}C$ enabled the reduction of exhaust gas temperature by $15^{\circ}C$ in cooled EGR test at 1600rpm/370kPa BMEP operation, and consequently the reduction of thermal load at exhaust. The optimization strategy of EGR application is to be discussed by the investigation on the effect of geometrical characteristics of EGR-supplying pipe line.

  • Lower dimensional cases of Einstein's connection were already investigated by many authors for n = 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. In the following series of two papers, we present a surveyable tensorial representation of 8-dimensional Einstein's connection in terms of the unified field tensor: I. The recurrence relations in 8-g-UFT II. The Einstein 's connection in 8-g-UFT In our previous paper [1], we investigated some algebraic structure in Einstein's 8-dimensional unified field theory (i.e., 8-g-UFT), with emphasis on the derivation of the recurrence relations of the third kind which hold in 8-g-UFT. This paper is a direct continuation of [1]. The purpose of the present paper is to prove a necessary and sufficient condition for a unique Einstein's connection to exist in 8-g-UFT and to display a surveyable tensorial representation of 8-dimensional Einstein's connection in terms of the unified field tensor, employing the powerful recurrence relations of the third kind obtained in the first paper [1]. All considerations in this paper are restricted to the first class only of the generalized 8-dimensional Riemannian manifold $X_8$, since the cases of the second class are done in [2], [3] and the case of the third class, the simplest case, was already studied by many authors.

  • Let ($M, G_M, F$) be a (p+q)-dimensional Riemannian manifold with a foliation F of codimension q and a bundle-like metric $g_M$ with respect to F ([9]). Aside from the Laplacian $\bigtriangleup_g$ associated to the metric g, there is another differnetial operator, the Jacobi operator $J_D$, which is a second order elliptic operator acting on sections of the normal bundle. Its spectrum isdiscrete as a consequence of the compactness of M. The study of the spectrum of $\bigtriangleup_g$ acting on functions or forms has attracted a lot of attention. In this point of view, the present authors [7] have studied the spectrum of the Laplacian and the curvature of a compact orientable cosymplectic manifold. On the other hand, S. Nishikawa, Ph. Tondeur and L. Vanhecke [6] studied the spectral geometry for Riemannian foliations. The purpose of the present paper is to study the relation between two spectra and the transversal geometry of cosymplectic foliations. We shall be in $C^\infty$-category. Manifolds are assumed to be connected.

  • Manual type manifold gauge has been used for charging the refrigerant in the refrigeration systems. In this case, the refrigerant is released to the ambient during the hose-switching period. :he objectives of this study are to develop a novel automatic refrigerant charging system, and to quantify the effect of the automatic systems on the reduction of the non-condensable gas and the contamination of the compressor oil. The automatic charging system makes the pressure test, vacuum test, and refrigerant charging work very simple and easy because the charging hose does not have to be switched many times. It is found that the amount of water in the SiO$_2$and the compressor oil reduces to l/4 times of that for the manual type manifold gauge and the refrigerant is not released to the ambient at all when the automatic charging system is adopted.
