The Characteristics of Commercial Fisheries of the Oregon, USA (미국 오레곤주의 수산업 특성)

  • 본 연구는 미국 오레곤주의 수산업 특성을 개괄적으로 살펴본 것이다. 먼저, 오레곤의 상업적 수산업을 역사적으로 살펴보면 2가지 주요한 계기가 있음을 알 수 있다. 첫째는 자급자족 차원에서의 연어생산을 수출품으로 변화시킨 연어통조림 생산기술의 발전이고, 둘째는 현대식 트롤어업이 도입된 점이다. 오레곤에서 주로 사용되는 어구ㆍ어법은 트롤, 채낚기, 연승, 통발, 형망 등이며, 생산어종은 연어, 게, 새우, 참치, 대구 등이다. 1995년 오레곤은 약 2억 4천 파운드의 수산물을 생산하여 미국 연안주중에서 6위를 차지하고 있고, 생산금액에서는 12위를 기록하였다. 한편, 양식업은 아직 성행하지 않아 그 생산품종 및 생산량은 미미한 실정이다. 그 주된 이유 중의 하나는 양식시설을 하기 위해서는 여러 관계기관의 허가를 필요로 하는 등 행정상의 절차가 복잡하기 때문이다. 오레곤의 수산자원관리는 우리나라에 비해 암계의 어획금지, 통발 등 정치어구ㆍ어법에 대한 인망일수의 제한, 조개류의 판매가능시간의 제한 등 몇가지 특징을 들 수 있다. 오레곤의 수산업관리제도(연안으로부터 3마일 이내)를 살펴보면, 아직 TAG제도를 도입하지 않고 있으며 생산요소역입제한방식이 채택되고 있다. 즉, 상업적으로 허용된 어종을 어획하려는 어업자는 등록절차를 필히 거쳐야 어업행위를 할 수 있으며, 등록수를 제한할 필요가 있는 특정한 어업(연어, 새우, 가리비 등)에 대해서는 행정관청으로부터 허가를 얻고 어업행위를 해야 한다. 즉, 허가어업은 등록어업보다 더욱 제한적인 어업행위를 말하며, 허가권에 대해서는 자유로운 매매양도가 허용되어 있다. 수산물의 마케팅시스템에 대해서는 우리나라에 지배적인 형태인 경매제도가 도입되어 있지 않다. 즉, 모든 수산물은 개인적인 거래계약에 의해서 유통된다. 다만 마케팅경로에 참여하고 있는 모든 구성원은 일정한 등록절차를 마쳐야 하며, 주내에서 거래되는 수산물의 일관된 통제나 관리를 위해 관계기관에 거래량을 필히 신고해야 한다. 우리나라의 중도매인은 주로 생산지의 수협(또는 내륙지 도매법인)과 도매상의 사이에 존재하나 오레곤의 중도매인은 마케팅경로 어디에든 존재하고 있다.

Analysis of Differences in Self-directed Learning According to Longitudinal Pattern of Information Retrieval Ability and Frequency (정보검색 능력과 빈도의 종단적 패턴에 따른 자기주도학습 능력 차이분석)

  • In the advanced information age, learning is an activity in which learners access information resources through computers and Internet to acquire and evaluate information on their own. The emergence of an online learning platform based on the fourth industrial revolution technology is developing into an environment in which elementary and secondary learners learn and study based on constructivism learning theory. In the online learning environment, the researches on the information retrieval ability of the elementary and secondary learners and the self-directed learning ability were found to be highly related. However, it is necessary to analyze the relation between information retrieval ability and self-directed learning ability through a cross-sectional study that is limited to specific curriculum and contents and expands the longitudinal research. In this study, the panel data of the Seoul Education Longitudinal Study collected over 8 years are used to find the difference in self-directed learning ability according to the longitudinal pattern of information retrieval ability and frequency.

Real-time Intelligent Health and Attention Monitoring System for Car Driver (실시간 지능형 운전자 건강 및 주의 모니터링 시스템)

  • Recently, researches related with automative mechanism have been widely studied to increase the driver's safety by continuously monitoring the driver's health condition to prevent driver's drowsiness. This paper describes the design of wearable chest belt for ECG and reflectance pulse oximetry for SpO2 sensors based on wireless sensor network to monitor the driver's healthcare status. ECG, SpO2 and heart rate signals can be transmitted via wireless sensor node to base station connected to the server. Intelligent monitoring system is designed at the server to analyze the SpO2 and ECG signals. HRV (Heart Rate Variability) signals can be obtained by processing the ECG and PPG signals. HRV signals are further analyzed based on time and frequency domain to determine the driver's drowsiness status.

  • A quest in MMORPG functions as a unit of game narrative. It is an essential part to progress game narrative and to construct player's own storyline. In addition, it makes player to expand her territory and helps with character growth by giving reward. A quest consists of four essential elements : the quest giver, the background story, the objective and the reward. A quest shows a blanch structure with two nodes which is same as Claude Bremond's elementary sequence. The sequence of each functions cannot be changed, therefore, it can be explained through a syntagma model. On the other hand, spatial disposition of quests follows a paradigm model. In order to construct a MMORPG narrative, a player connects quests into a single narrative by carrying out them.

  • A thermophilic microorganism, which is able to hydrolyze starch, was isolated from soil and compost in Korea. It was Gram-positive, rod-shaped, catalase positive, nonmotile, glucose and mannitol fermentative, xylose oxidative, and spore forming microorganism. It also has an ability to hydrolyze casein and gelatin. The color of colony was yellowish white. The sequence of 16S rDNA of strain 2719 showed 99.5% sequence homology with the sequence of 16S rDNA of Bacillus thermoglucosidasius. On the basis of biochemical and physiological properties and phylogenetic analysis, the isolated strain was named as Bacillus thermoglucosidasius 2719.

  • "The Candle Revolution" impeached the Park government and elected the Moon government. The candlelight protesters demonstrated public anger associated with accumulated corruption and deep-rooted irregularities. Complete political reform is required to perform deep fundamental reform. It aims to transform democracy in a way that is more inclusive. Inclusive democracy contributes to making welfare state stronger. Inclusive democracy is made possible by proportional representation that allows progressive parties more seats and leverages. Proportional representation systems are characterized by higher degrees of redistribution and larger welfare state. Constitutional reform has to be focused on introducing parliamentary government. "Imperialistic" presidential system in Korea has no mechanism of checks and balances which are key characteristics of presidential systems. It has failed to attend the poverty and social inequality arising from globalization and neoliberal change since 2000s. Parliamentary government is supposed to deliver social policy when parties are more disciplined than in presidential system where political parties remain weak.

  • This paper closely examines Popol Vuh, regarded as the Bible of the Mayans, from the perspective of the Deep Ecology. Deep ecology is a concept born out of the criticisms on the existing environmental movements as superficial, and encourages the moral and ethical change of the man's attitude towards the nature, inevitably becoming "metaphysical" in character. As such the Deep ecology advocates the break away from the anthropocentricism, the dichotomous thinking and the rationalism of the modern times. Popol Vuh is a text that contains such concepts and it requires an analysis from the Deep ecological perspective beyond the existing framework of the study that simply focuses on mythological elements.

  • 4M D램 공동연구 개발사업(1986.10~89.03)은 당시 미 일의 강력한 기술보호주의를 극복하기 위한 자구책으로 시작되었다. 국내 반도체업계는 선진국의 높은 기술장벽 및 기술보호주의를 극복하고, 강력한 경쟁력확보 및 기술축적을 위해 정부에 건의하였다. 이에 정부는 적극적인 자금지원을 통해 4M D램 개발 및 주변기술 개발을 목표로 초고집적반도체기술공동개발사업을 수행하게 되었다. 본 공동R&D사업은 ETRI의 주관으로 당시 금성반도체, 삼성전자, 현대전자산업 등의 반도체 업체와 학계가 참여하였고, 1986년 10월부터 1989년 3월까지 3단계에 걸쳐 수행되었다. 공동연구의 목적은 설계, 공정, 조립, 검사 등 4M D램 제조와 관련되는 기본기술개발과 함께 $0.8{\mu}m$ 선폭의 4M D램을 개발하는 것이며, 이를 위해 단계별 목표를 설정하고 관민연의 혼연일치로 추진되었다. 1차년에는 중요 핵심기술개발, 2차년에는 $0.8{\mu}m$ 4M D램 Working-die개발, 3차년에는 수율 20%의 $0.8{\mu}m$ 4M D램 양산시 제품을 목표대로 완료하였다. 각 연구단계별로 주요 핵심기술에 대한 연구평가가 실시되었으며, 관련기술에 대한 중복투자 방지를 위해 2차년도부터 분담연구가 수행되었고, 상호 기술공유를 위한 기술교류회가 활발히 이루어졌다. 또한 R&D수행을 통해 4M D램 Working-die를 2차년도 중반에 개발완료하였으며, 3차년도에는 4M D램의 20% 수율확보와 공정기술의 최적화 및 DB 구축을 수행했다. 공동R&D 방식에서도 기업간 경쟁체제 도입에 입각하여 동기유발 형태로 진행되었다. 정부는 자금적 지원으로 기업간의 경쟁 심리를 자극하는 전략을 추진했다. 선두기업인 삼성에게는 선행적 개발 지위에 비례하여 더 많은 지원을 부여하는 대신에, 삼성의 기술성과를 다른 기업에게로 확산시킴으로써 반도체 3사 전체의 기술능력을 향상시키는 전략을 추진했다. 본 사업이 성공적으로 수행되어 반도체 제품의 세계시장 점유율제고, 국제수지 개선, 반도체 핵심기술 조기확보뿐만 아니라 16M D램급 이상 차세대 반도체기술 개발의 교도보가 되었다.

Investigation on the Main Features of the College Admission System in the Province of Quebec, Canada (캐나다 퀘벡주 대입제도의 특징 및 시사점 분석)

  • Although the comprehensive school report system which was renamed from the admission officer system has been stably implemented in Korea, the fairness of the college admission system concerning the evaluation on the extra-curricular domain has still been a controversial issue. Thus, it has been the main topic in the educational policy to consider the desirable college admission system and investigate the problems of current changes in the admission system. On the other hand, the college admission system has not been the problem for students and people concerned in Canada. The completion of higher education is more important than the admission itself in Canada due to the standardization of higher education institutions such as universities in quality. In this regard, this study aims to examine the education and college admission system in Canada in general focusing on the cases of the province of Quebec.
