Problem Analysis and Improvement Strategy for Feasibility Analysis of Overseas Plant Construction Projects (해외 플랜트 건설사업의 타당성 분석 문제점 및 개선방안)

  • This study investigated and analyzed feasibility analysis case studies, carried out by contractor of EPC LSTK projects in the planning stage to suggest the strategies to solve problems for project improvement. For this, five feasibility analysis case studies of gulf cooperation council (GCC) countries were reviewed and investigated. The results can be summarized as follows: 1) Those factors needed to be analyzed, including cost increase, project delay, quality decrease were insufficiently considered when assessing feasibility. 2) And improvement strategies for three problems mentioned above were suggested based on findings in feasibility analysis. 3) Lastly the process of the project feasibility analysis that can be applied to overseas plant construction project was suggested step by step.

  • Recently, by the growth of IT industry, the domestic construction is tried to spread with IT on the whole phases: 1)an, design, order, construction, and maintenance. On this, in the construction industry, is accelerated effort of the introduction of PMIS, it has various types of PMIS applied which is developed alone by large construction company and serviced with web-hosting by ASP corporation. In this study, through the analysis of PMIS which has applied on the subway construction in the D city, try to propose the improvement proposals and put out realistic problems. Therefore that analysis about needs of the order and operation of the phases, Domestic PMIS cases and International PMIS technique position have to consider and, the system is analyzed to needs of the order, design scheme, and utilization. On the basis of this result, the improvement proposals is proposed into the case of the contract, the system, the operation, the management and the contact of the external system.

  • Recently, the Construction Management service of domestic construction environment has being extended because that is an effective means to supplement owner's management and improve a total management of construction. But existing CM service guide is staying simply defined level about a work scope and procedure. So the standard CM guide needs to set a detailed plan of the project. Therefore, the key works were deducted by doing survey after the main work of CM service based on CM case studies and an existing CM service guide. That is expected to use CM contract and do service.

  • Turnkey projects accounting for some $10\%$ of the total volume of the projects in the domestic market have been often implemented without the process of full-scale review or study because of clients' lack of expert and expertise. Moreover, many projects have been executed under the terms and conditions of the contact which were found to be unilaterally in favor of the clients. The study, as part of effects to mitigate the claims that would possibly be caused by the potential problems with the typical turnkey projects, were intended to identify the elements of the claims virtually being occurred at the construction sites, and then analyze the degree of influence on the project so as to be able to incorporate the outcome into the plan at the working-levels. As a result of experts' review, through the survey, of the elements once extracted, those having relatively higher degrees of influence on turnkey projects were determined, and the investigation aimed at estimating the amount of claims in terms of value were conducted to eventually identify, evaluate and verify the elements that had affected the Project together with the degree of influence.

  • The open source software is widely used nowadays so that means developing software without using open source software can hardly imagine. However, the developer's recognition about the license statements that defines the requirements in accordance with the use of open source is relatively low and a few study is associated with this topic. Therefore, this study examines the use of open source in software development in the context of EDISON project in the national research and development project. Furthermore, the study attempts to suggest the advanced model from simply avoiding license conflicts to constructing the open source project ecosystem including the choose of representative open source, the development of open source communities and contributor agreements.

  • Construction Management means a comprehensive plan of given the resources and the operation of the elements to complete the construction within the construction period. The construction period of these shall be determined by calculation based on reliable initial business. However, in actual field, inaccurate task duration is determined to the intuitive judgments of representative, reference of a similar project construction period of the past. As previous studies for the improvement of existing methods, This study presented a standard model that can be utilized in the early stages of construction projects for the TBM method operating by diameter (2.6m, 3.0m, 3.5m, 5.0m, 8.0m), and This study presented and calculated construction period which can estimated quickly the entire outline the construction period Therefore, When performing TBM construction work in the future, the total construction period which presented and analyze by TBM diameter, can be used as a useful material which plan and manage construction contracts, construction estimating, construction planning to the basic planning stage, and the basic design stage.

  • The appearance of the large distribution facility of large enterprise putting first reaches get to the various effect until change of leisure life and life pattern of the consumers from the distribution industry of the interior of a country. Competition of the distribution facility upgrade of the distribution facility and it shows the aspect which becomes the semi-department store, and construction cost is appearing different in proportion to each form or scale. Therefore, purpose of this study was to facilitate amicable construction progress between the owner and the builder through estimating the proper construction cost. This study investigated and analyzed the actual cost of 15 domestic distribution facilities and these datums were used to estimate the proper construction cost. This cost shows that from new project accomplishment through analysis of prediction construction cost for feasibility study from initial plan and design step and can be utilizable elementary data bH decision method to whether or not to propriety of distribution facilities business.

  • Due to the characteristics of the railway system, a fleet consists of multiple railway vehicles, and a project contract is made by supplying multiple fleets to the customer. If the project fails to meet the due date, the manufacturer must compensate for the delay to the customer. In this paper, we analyze the operation strategies of the railway vehicle manufacturing factory using simulation, in which the layout adopts the concept of the flow lines, and when shortages of parts are considered. If there is a shortage of parts, the subsequent assembly process cannot proceed due to the nature of the assembly process. Thus, in order to overcome this problem, three strategies for performing assembly work are presented when the events of shortages are occurred. We also compare the strategies with respect to reduce the total cost which includes labor costs and compensation costs for delay.

  • This research examines the need for a quantitative and objective method of calculating baseline productivity in the construction industry, which is known for its high volatility in performance and productivity. The existing literature's baseline productivity calculation methods rely heavily on subjective criteria, limiting their effectiveness. Additionally, data collection methods such as the "Five-minute Rating" are costly and time-consuming, making it challenging to collect detailed data at construction sites. To address these issues, this study proposes an objective baseline calculation method using unimpacted productivity BP, a work check sheet to systematically record detailed data, and a data collection and utilization process that minimizes cost and time requirements. This paper also suggests using unimpacted productivity BP and comparative analysis to address the objectivity and reliability issues of existing baseline productivity calculation methods.

  • Performance analysis for work-learning dual system has been mainly conducted from the perspective of diagnosing the effectiveness of policies at the macro level. This study aims to analyze issues in organizational management of the work-learning dual system training center by conducting an analysis focusing on the organizational performance of the work-learning dual system training center's employees. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the perception and attitude of employees toward the work-learning dual training center differed depending on the type of work-learning dual system and the type of employment contract. Among the types of work-learning dual system, overall, in the case of IPP, the organizational performance of employees was low, while the apprenticeship was relatively high. As for the type of employment contract, the need for institutional improvement has been derived, especially for the project contract workers.
