Despite efforts to expand public care services as social demands increase, the problem of the after-school self-care of elementary school students who were in the situation of care cliff remains. Thus, this study focused on community-based childcare to solve the issue of school-age childcare in Korea. The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of community-based childcare of participants who had school-aged children who lived in Seoul and GyeongGi province (Korea). Focus group interviews were conducted with ten married working mothers among clients of a community-based childcare provider that has been operating for more than five years. Based on the findings of this study, it is clear that community-based childcare is a useful welfare resource. In addition, the results of this study can be used as data for developing policies and programs for school-age childcare or the after-school self-care of elementary school students. Furthermore, it may broaden the horizons of research related to community-based childcare.

This narrative-based study explored the extent to which acculturation level, health condition and SES influence depressive symptoms mediated or moderated by perceived respect of Korean-American older adults in the Chicago metropolitan and its suburban area. For the purpose of the study, qualitative interviews were performed and obtained robust data from 2 focus groups, 2 in-depth interviews. This study produced results by ATLAS. ti,. Qualitative analysis revealed that acculturation could influence depressive symptoms and that depressive symptoms could also be associated with hope and communication. These findings suggested that services given by service providers need to focus on communication and respect of the older Korean-American immigrants' self-determination, for they depend on it greatly when faced with the sufferings from various depressive mood changes in adjusting to new residences.

Backgound: The first step in disaster response is preparation, and education and training of workforce are considered as important elements of preparedness. The purpose of this study was to identify the needs of volunteers by exploring service experiences after a disaster to develop volunteer education programs. Methods: Participants were 11 volunteers who had supported the victims' families during about 1 year after the Sewol ferry disaster. Focus group interviews were conducted to investigate the experience of volunteer at the levels of individual, within-team and between-teams, and to discover the need of further training. Results: The results showed that the needs for self- and team-care and advanced education were reported. Conclusions: These results were discussed in terms of development of competence and mental health needs disaster volunteers. Limitations of this study and directions of future research were suggested.

Objective: To explore the perception of drug utilization review (DUR) system and DUR modernization pilot project among healthcare professionals and patients. Methods: We conducted 8 times of focus group interviews (FGI) between August 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. The healthcare professionals and patients who participated in the DUR modernization pilot project were included in the present study. Based on the type of project participation or medical institution, the participants were divided into the following four groups: group 1, hospital; group 2, clinic; group 3, pharmacy; and group 4, patient. Within each group, interviews were conducted under a pre-defined agenda to identify the implicit perceptions of the participants; the contents of the interviews were, then, categorized. Results: Healthcare professionals established a consensus on the positive aspects of the DUR system and DUR modernization pilot project. However, substantial concerns remain, such as additional workload associated with monitoring adverse events or acquiring consents from patients. Furthermore, a difference of opinion over the DUR convenience system was observed. Among 3 DUR convenience system, the personal medication history review service was highly utilized, but pop-up hold function and communication system was rarely used. Conclusion: We observed that systematic intervention using the DUR system is effective for both healthcare providers and consumers. Adverse events caused by inappropriate drug use can be prevented by continuous patient monitoring. Therefore, the role of DUR system needs to be expanded to establish a safe drug management system.

The purpose of this study was to compare the health behaviors of North Korean refugee women according to their health cognition level. The tools were selected through focus group interviews of researchers and respondents to carry out the purpose of the study while being as brief as possible, and to secure content validity by the expert group. Based on this, the health cognition level was divided into three stages and organized into groups, and health behavior was composed of nutrition, exercise, and sleep as three factors to help actual behavior change. For data analysis, one-way ANOVA was used to compare health behaviors according to each health cognition level, and the following conclusions were obtained. First, there was a significant difference in nutrition and sleep of health behavior according to the level of physical health awareness, but there was no significant difference in exercise. Second, there were significant differences in nutrition, exercise, and sleep of health behavior according to psychological health cognitive level. Third, there was a significant difference in nutrition and sleep of health behavior according to social health cognitive level, and there was no significant difference in exercise.

The goal of this study is to find ways to improve the open access publication support service platform through the usability evaluation of the publishing manager interface among the AccessON journal repository interfaces, which is an open access publication support service platform. Various documents and cases related to open access publishing and usability evaluation in order to answer three research questions: collection of user experience responses of interface, extraction of issues and improvement points, and analysis and derivation of suggestions for other open access publication support service platforms. Responses to the experience of using the publishing manager interface were collected through surveys and focus group interviews. Combining this, it was possible to present the results of the usability evaluation of the AccessON journal repository interface through various numerical information. The results of the usability evaluation made it possible to propose issues and improvements to the AccessON journal repository manager interface, and finally, it was possible to derive suggestions for the open access academic publishing support service platform to be developed later.

Voice shopping is gaining attention following the trend of non-contact E-commerce by enabling people to shop via voice command. Therefore, in this study, voice shopping service heuristics using a display-mounted voice interface were developed in preparation for the future where voice shopping becomes a part of daily life in the world. First, as a theoretical approach, a literature survey of 50 papers on the design principles of 'visual interface,' 'voice interface,' and 'shopping service' was conducted to produce a total of 29 draft design principles. Second, as an empirical approach, a focus group interview was conducted on consumer decision-making processes in shopping experiences and information-seeking behavior within the context of shopping to draft the heuristics. This was to supplement the user experience, a weak part of the literature research. Finally, a Delphi survey asked 20 experts in UX, service planning, artificial intelligence development, and shopping to evaluate the heuristics draft developed through the above two stages. After three rounds of Delphi surveys, the final heuristics were proposed.

Most universities are attempting educational innovation through multidisciplinary approaches, such as interdisciplinary programs and convergent majors, to nurture convergent talents in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution. The purpose of this study is to identify the priorities of the educational needs of students who complete the interdisciplinary program and to find its effective operation plan. For this purpose, research was conducted to search for the university-level support required to vitalize the interdisciplinary program by doing focus group interviews with students who have participated in the interdisciplinary program. And the final priority was derived by applying the t-test, Borich's need assessment model, and The Locus for Focus Model, using online research. As a result of the analysis, 'formation and operation of dedicated organizations' and 'dedicated classrooms and practice rooms' were deduced as factors to be considered as a top priority, 'curriculum specialization,' 'interdisciplinary program scholarship support,' 'interdisciplinary program promotion,' and 'assignment of dedicated teaching assistants' were derived as secondary consideration factors. Based on these research results, a plan of vitalizing the educational needs for the interdisciplinary program at university and its implications were suggested.

As South Korea has become an aged society, the dementia rate has also been increasing. With the introduction of both de-institutionalization and community care in 2017, the importance of community-based care has increased. Perspectives on dementia have also been shifting from the medical model and social model to the person-centered model. This paper suggests ways to improve dementia service through analyzing the dementia knowledge of care-givers at ADS. The paper includes an FGI with the care-givers who have worked for more than 2 years. Based on such FGI, the paper draws sub-themes from 7 areas. Among the suggestions for improvement are: community-based service with daily routine practice, improving awareness of dementia for co-living, and person-centered service based on individuality and diverseness.

The purpose of this study is to identify the problems of the e-book composition provided by the Comprehensive Reading Education Support System and to propose a service improvement plan related to the establishment of e-books in school libraries as educational resources based on practical issues and perceptions experienced by teacher-librarians. As a research method, the composition of the collection of 3,002 e-books supported by the Busan Comprehensive Reading Education Support System as a reading education platform of the school library was analyzed based on the Korean Decimal Classification. Based on this, two focus group interviews (FGI) were conducted with 4 elementary teacher-librarians and 5 secondary teacher-librarians working in Busan. The result of this study can be used as basic data to support students' reading activities using e-books as educational resources and to form an efficient e-book collection in school library.
