  • There have been the current controversy over effectiveness of the pressurized smoke control systems, which are installed within escape shaft to provide 'smoke-free' access for escaping peoples. Therefore, many effective measures were given in this paper by means of the production of a design guide for various types of escape routes used in domestic buildings. The solutions were established on basis of both an investigating current door closing device application in existing facilities and global standardization for pressurized smoke control system, especially in British Standard. Finally, the design guidance for open door air velocity with introduction to three door protection clauses was presented on the basis of consideration of the safety and economical factor,

  • The fact that the smoke hinders evacuation and fire-fighting activities as well as becomes the major cause of life casualty emphasizes the importance of smoke control system. As one of the fire safety standards designed to secure the smoke safety, NFSC501A (Design Guide for Smoke Control System of Special Evacuation Stairwell and Lobby) has been proposed, preventing smoke from penetrating into the smoke-free escape route by raising the pressure of the smoke control zone higher than fire area. For model building of 20 stories, pressurization system was designed according to standard and pressure field of compartments in whole building induced by pressurization system was analyzed using the network model.

  • As high-rise Apartment buildings increase the importance of fire prevention and escape performance. While these buildings provide dwellers with much more houses, they have the basic escape safety problem in their apartment buildings. In these respect, this study aims to present the Principles of Fire protection for the escape performance of apartment buildings. This study reviews basic theories of escape in apartment buildings. I figure out the characteristics of the fires in apartment buildings by case studying the fire in the apartment buildings, and find out the existing problems for escape performance and fire prevention by surveying. In this study, the major findings are as follows: The planning method should be based on the escape performance. In the planning stage, fire safety should be considered more seriously than law and economic factors.

  • 본 연구에서는 특별피난계단의 전실에 설치되는 부속실제연설비가 화재 시 발생한 연기가 부속실 내로 역류하지 않는 급기댐퍼의 적정한 설치위치를 알아보고자 하였으며, 이를 확인하기 위하여 FDS(Fire Dynamics Simulator)을 사용 하였다. 시뮬레이션 Case 총 15가지로 구분하고, 방연풍속은 총 64개의 지점에서 측정하는 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 출입문 상부 및 하부에서 역 기류가 발행하는 Case가 있었으며, 대부분 출입문 하부에서의 연기 유입이 예상되는 경우가 많았다. 방연풍속은 측정 포인트 64점에서 관련기준에 단 한 곳도 미달하지 않고 만족하는 경우는 총 단 4가지 Case로서 매우 제한적인 것을 알 수 있었다. 그만큼 급기댐퍼의 위치 및 급기방향에 따라 부속실 제연설비의 성능이 다양하게 나타날 수 있다는 것이다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 앞으로 실물실험을 통하여 구체적인 자료가 입증되길 바라고, 더불어 부속실 제연설비의 성능을 개선하는 데 있어 도움이 되었으면 한다.

  • In this study, we have survey of the actual smoke exhaust condition and improvement program in special escape stair. We have collected and analysed the survey view take 50 professional advice. Domestic a technical and legal standard is rated as compared with an advanced countries to $40{\sim}60%$. Hazard must be improved a security with the evacuation where the standard of present time is safe the reply with 64% to appear it was analyzed with the fact that the improvement which it follows hereupon is necessary.

  • Through the use and development of underground spaces, subways have become a representative means of transportation in the city center. Due to the extension of subway lines and the increase in the number of subway users, there is a risk that safety for evacuating human lives in case of fire will not be secured. Therefore, this study tried to identify citizens' perceptions of evacuation facilities through questionnaires and find alternatives. An online survey of 115 subway passengers was conducted to learn about citizens' awareness of subway evacuation facilities. As a result of the survey, awareness of evacuation facilities was high in the order of guidance lights, life-saving devices, emergency lights and portable lights, special evacuation stairs, and evacuation stairs. In addition, the majority of the respondents said they were not well aware of evacuation facilities, and people's indifference was the most common cause. As a solution to the lack of awareness, responses to active advertising and promotion, education and experience activities were the highest.

  • 본 연구에서는 건설현장의 특별 피난계단 출입문 크기와 구조의 다양성을 고려한 자동폐쇄장치의 설계방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위해서 급기가압실의 방연풍속, 누설량 그리고 송풍기의 용량이 일정한 경우 출입문이 폐쇄되기 위한 힘의 상관관계를 회전각도와 회전속도의 변화에 따라서 분석하였으며, 방화문의 폭이 1,100 mm, 1,300 mm 인 경우 각각에 대해서 개방력과 폐쇄력을 측정하였다. 그 결과 현장 조건을 만족할 수 있는 자동폐쇄장치에 의한 방화문의 폐쇄조건 및 회전각도와 회전속도의 변화를 고려한 개방력과 폐쇄력의 최적 설계범위가 존재함을 확인하였다.

  • In this study, we confirmed the fact that air egress velocity of pressure differential system which is installed in vestibule of smokeproof stairway in domestic high-rise building becomes back-flow into the vestibule not into the livingroom when the doors open to escape in case of fire by actual measurement. It concerned that fire smoke inflow into the vestibule of smokeproof stairway. so, reflux symptoms were developing the condition does not occur by creating an area of $2m^2$ and a model. if it‘s area is less, airflow in upper area was severely reflux. in the case upward 45 gradient of supply damper’s angle of blade, The results that reflux symptoms include upper door but bottom has some reflux. also vestibule of smokeproof stairway‘s area of $4m^2$ in the living room door in the direction of the flow distributon was normal. if a vestibule of smokeproof stairway is smaller, it designed to be performance-based design should be.

  • In this study, we confirmed the fact that air egress velocity of pressure differential system installed at vestibule of smokeproof stairway in domestic high-rise building becomes back-flow to stair-lobby at upper vestibule. Rather it do not back-flow to the livingroom. when fire occur and the door opens to escape from fire zone. so we carry out actual and computational fluid dynamics measurement. In the case upward 45 gradient of supply damper's blade, The simulation results that air flow of upper vestible is steady but back-flow phenomenon occurred at the bottom. However, in the case of $4m^2$, direction of the flow was ideal to living room. If a vestibule’s area is smaller, it must be designed and built according to performance-based design.
