  • Unplanned growth of the city was established, despite many elementary, School facilities outside the city is still lacking. Basically should be able to walk to school through elementary school in the case of excessive distance, issues such as unsafe in the school environment and the school, overcrowding, excessive relieve classroom learning environment, with the improvement of the overall situation is necessary. In this study, the status for local public elementary school environment, research and analysis, case studies, research, and through community and resolve problems derived as a school bus for the introduction of alternative feasibility analysis.

  • The new town was assumed that there is a difference between the country's elementary school environment. First, given the important elements of the school safety plan in order to verify this, and we plan to set up each of these elements by safety criteria. In the second chapter in order to achieve the objective of this study was to develop indicators to evaluate the safety of the school environment influences the safety of the school environment through the theoretical consideration. In Chapter 3, the difference in safety through the new elementary school survey of metropolitan areas was given a score per item per item depending on the evaluation criteria. The fourth section is the difference between safety school environment can be summarized as the following analytical results that the difference between the new city. The results of this study as follows: First, the characteristics of the elementary school environment showed a significant difference between the new town. Second, school location, terrain characteristics, bike paths and pedestrian to the installation, the safety of landscape installations, installing median barriers, traffic safety facilities, speed bumps, separation of pedestrian and vehicle circulation in the front door, scores of elements of the plan such as parking scheme there is a difference between the new town. Third, the introduction of elements of the plan such as Traffic calming or Traffic Island installation techniques was found lacking.

  • Despite the legal and institutional measures that have been enacted for the safety management of school facilities, the number of school accidents has continued to rise, particularly in regards to the number of accidents related to schools. However, school facilities have had a difficult time creating safe school environments for the school administration and local governments. This is due to the fact that the Office of Education and the Ministry of Education, not the school or educational offices, have insufficient institutional devices such as standards and systems for the promotion of safe school environments. This study attempted to confirm the direction of the improvement of the safety of school facilities. To this end, four safety assessment topics (separation of pedestrians, pedestrian path management, pedestrian visibility, and surrounding risk factors) were derived based on the surveyed data for the safety of the external environment of domestic and international school facilities. 179 school facilities nationwide (kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and special schools) were analyzed for current cases of accidents that occurred mainly on school roads. Roughly 50% of the analyzed evaluation scores showed that it is necessary to improve the external environment of school facilities.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a scheme to provide children safer and more comfortable walking circumstances by survey current walking circumstances of schoolzone ways. A scheme suggested in this study was based on the analysis of survey to elementary school in 3 Newtowns(Dongtan, Dongbaek and Gumdan Districts) and actually surveyed data on school zone, the scheme can be summed up as follows; First, to avoid pedestrian roads being interrupted and to expend waiting space near schoolzone ways, several measures are needed including fixing roads and building additional gateway. Second, to secure pedestrians' safety in school zone ways should be planned and established more security concepts und facilities Third, to improve the walking safety in schoolzone way should be established specially "schoolzone B-plan".

A Study on the Effect of School Site Planning Factors Related to School Location on Increase and Decrease of the Number of Students in Korea (학교 입지 계획요소가 학생수 증감에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • In order to prove the hypothesis that the element of school location planning - the density of development, availability of various private institutes, the location of school, the type of school district, the distance to nearby schools, the existence of communal areas, the pedestrian street, the number of road lanes - affects the increase and decrease of the number of students in the long term, we examined the tendency of the number of long-term (24 years). The results of the analysis are as follows: First, the development factors such as development density, location of school, type of school district, distance from neighboring schools, separation of pedestrians and cars are clearly related. Second, the planning factors such as location of private school and installation of pedestrian-only street seem to be related to each other. Third, the number of road lanes and element of "communal area" is irrelevant. This study is limited to generalization of five new metropolitan cities in the metropolitan area, and it is necessary to further elaborate the analysis factors and evaluation criteria.

  • This study verified the effect that the ecological factor had on the smartphone addiction, and then validated the difference related to current smartphone addiction with actual state of dysfunction. To substantiate the results of this study, the 6th graders at five elementary schools located in Incheon, were surveyed and a total of 672 questionnaires were analyzed. In the results of this study, the school district as the ecological factors had a significant effect on smartphone addiction of elementary students. Through the results of analysis, we found that a smartphone addiction is not cased by the personal inclinations, but has to cooperate individual, home, school and society.

  • This study explores school location, school environment, educational conditions, and appropriate scale of schools in the context of Sejong City's development area and identifies effective school establishment plans based on the analysis of the needs of the educational community. The research questions for this study include, first, what is the change trend in the number of students as a result of the opening of schools in the development area of Sejong City to the present, and what differences are there between Sejong and other new cities? Second, what challenges arise in school location due to the occurrence of oversized schools and undergraduate institutions? Third, what challenges arise in school location that would limit the ability to create a safe school environment? Fourth, what aspects need to be improved in school location decisions to promote proper placement? A survey was conducted among parents and faculty members to collect data. The findings revealed that first, when establishing a school, identifying an appropriate location for the school was the top priority of the respondents. The second was the proximity of the school to dense housing, with a parent drop zone next to the school site. Third, to address the issue of lack of playgrounds and special class and care classes, respondents called for various measures such as securing school sites within a certain area. Finally, integrated operation schools and school facilities are required in preparation for decreasing school-age populations due to low birth rates.

  • In this research, we analyze the factors considered by parents of subjects of special education when selecting special educational institutions for children, and present proposals for improving the placement plan of special subjects, The results are as follows. First, for special education subjects, a considerable number of kindergarten processes are required for compulsory education, and special education subjects are selected for elementary school entrance. Second, the factors of choosing the special educational institution of parents of special education subjects are the expertise of the teacher and the operation of the curriculum, the type and extent of child disability, the distance to school and the way of commuting, educational facilities, Treatment room etc). Thirdly, it was found that parents' choices are the largest among schools in the school area, as to how special education institutions of special education subjects are arranged. For proper placement planning, it is necessary to accurately grasp the number of subjects for special education, so the selection time of the subjects of special education shall be the process of kindergarten at the latest, the disparity of special education institutions and the disparity of educational facilities It is necessary to set school books to solve it.

  • This study aimed to provide practical measures to help the relocation of schools by investigating and analyzing the trend of increasing number of students in the old city, the location of schools in the school district, and the distance to school. To this end, a model for the relocation of schools in the old city was derived by conducting prior research surveys and case area analysis. In order to derive the Planning Model of Elementary School Relocation in the Old city, the study first analyzes the mid- to long-term changes in the target area and the number of students by school, and places schools through a regionally customized school layout grid model presented in the study. In addition, the school relocation plan needs to be implemented by establishing a mid- to long-term school relocation plan in connection with the nearby urban readjustment project, etc.

  • A Development of the Evaluation Criteria on the User's Bicycle Environment for Work and School Trip Purpose: This study suggests future improvements and some current questions about the development of the evaluation criteria on the user's bicycle environment for Work and School Trip Purpose. The direction of development on Evaluation Criteria is all about on the side of necessity of bicycle users, the reflection of new policy, the construction of total evaluation criteria, and the examination of connecting study with current study. This study establishes a Development of the Evaluation Criteria on the User's Bicycle Environment for Work and School Trip Purpose. After that, this study examines previous evaluation criterias and researchers will select the primary provision of evaluation through FGI, and they derive the final evaluation criteria throughout the verification of suitability on Evaluation Criteria. The summery of this study is like this. First, suggestions of improvements of zones in bicycles users' evaluations, Second Suggestions of the current conditions by GIS and the result of model analysis, Third Clarify of major provisions in terms of zones by using Spider Map.
