  • Disease, such as osteopenia, osteoporosis, etc caused by reduced bone density are common to women after menopause and as the social medical cost increases due to osteoporosis fractures the medical interest in bone density reduction has increased. The bone density reduction is observed even for renal failure patients, due to their decreased ability to synthesize vitamin D which leads to bone fibrosis because of deficiency in calcium absorption. Thus renal failure patients not only suffer from kidney dysfunction, but also are exposed to complications, such as osteoporosis, due to reduced bone density. This research observed the change in bone density of patients receiving renal failure treatment and analyzed the change in bone density before and after kidney transplantations. Subjects were 214 renal failure patients at the department of nephrology Busan B General Hospital. The change in bone density was studied for subjects with and without kidney transplantation according to their age and sex. The research showed improvement or maintenance of bone density for subjects that received kidney transplantation, but showed a tendency of consistent decrease in bone density for subjects without kidney transplantation. Kidney transplantation can be considered as the best cure for renal failure patients, and this researched confirmed that bone density can be improved through kidney transplantation. Thus, this study can also be used as data for preventing complications due to renal failures.

  • Form the observation that the successful management and operation of university websites brings about university branding effects, this paper attempts to identify the problems in relation to evaluation elements of university homepages and establish a new evaluation model that allows us to grasp the importance and priority of phased evaluation elements. In particular, we tried to secure the objectivity of the importance of department homepage evaluation elements by using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). Our analysis shows that among 29 evaluation elements of department homepage, mobile service, curriculum, description of department's characteristics, guide to homepage usage/accessibility to site map and differentiated educational method were considered to be relatively important whereas the relative importance of department's slogan, differentiated image and identity, linkage to SNS, Q&A bulletin board, operation of department community, and FAQ was low. Based on the findings from our analysis, we present the basic foundation for successful management and operation of university department homepages along with a few suggestions for vitalizing those hompages.

For this purpose, multiple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted on the relationship between psychological home environment and adaptation to school, ego-resilience and metal health of 310 male and female students in fifth and sixth grade in four elementary schools on EWPP located in Busan area. As the result of analysis, three major variables affecting adaptation to school life turned out to be in the order of ego-resilience, home environment and mental health and both ego-resilience and mental health were confirmed to play partial mediating role in the relationship between home environment and adaptation to school life. Since home environment as a psychological variable of adolescents from poor families have an effect on adaptation to school in connection with ego-resilience and mental health as personal variables, this study can be used as base materials for the development of programs to strengthen psychological home environment, ego-resilience, and mental health. In addition, in terms of practical implications, educational welfare policies for alienated class can be practical policy alternative to mitigate social polarization.

  • In this study, we focused on the importance of politicians' voices in sending a message. Different factors for a voice may play different roles in sending a message and affect message recipients' responsiveness, understanding, and so on. For this reason, it can be said that an analytical study on voices in sending a diversity of messages is a meaningful attempt. We took interest in politicians' voices because we determined that a voice should be very important to politicians frequently sending a message through speech to the nation and others. This study aimed to investigate the voices of politicians, who represent their nation. We intended to select politicians representing ROK(Republic of Korea; South Korean) and USA(United States of America), choose representative speeches to the nation, make a comparative analysis of their voices in the speeches, and draw implications. We analyzed a total of eight voices - four ROK politicians and four USA ones, male and female - to characterize them and suggest guidelines for a voice with clearer message delivery. We analyzed the politicians' voices on the basis of such vocal properties as vocal pitch, accuracy of pronunciation, resonance, and intonation variation and found that the ROK politicians were somewhat poorer at utilizing their voice than the US ones. In particular, they were remarkably poorer at accurate pronunciation, which exerts a significant impact on message passing.

Third, guidelines for the production of safety animation will be suggested by analyzing the results of literature reviews and case studies in a comprehensive way. It is expected that this paper will be used as a basic data for academic research and animation production related to the safety accident.

  • This study aims to get necessary information for designing the systematic and practical career preparation education program by checking the differences among core competency of collegiate and career variables. In order to do that, the core competence of collegiate was identified through Korea collegiate essential skills assessment(K-CESA), and the survey results about career preparation behavior, career decision-making self efficacy and career barriers were collected. And then the data were compared and analyzed to differentiate relationships among core competency of collegiate and career variables, based on the university types and the locations. The data were analyzed by ANOVAs and t-tests using the SPSS 21.0 program. According to the analysis, firstly, there is a difference in the level of collegiate essential skills depending on the characteristics of schools. Secondly, the students at metropolitan four-year universities feel more difficulties primarily in the variable of career barriers than the students at local universities and students at colleges. Thirdly, the students of high rank at core competence showed higher career decision-making self-efficacy and career preparation behavior than the students of low rank, and they feel less difficulties in the matter of career barrier. This study shows that in order to support students' career efficiently, it is necessary for each college and university to design career program by considering the core competency and the level of career development of students, instead of providing them with a unified and fractional program.
