  • The rise of K-Pop in the latecomer environment is unusual. There is little research on K-Pop from the catch-up perspective though it would yield some insight into a strategic direction of creative industries in the latecomer environment. Thus, this study aims to compare the firm capability, market development, and product strategy of K-Pop firms with ones of manufacturing firms during the catch-up period. It reveals first that K-Pop firms developed project execution capability to carry out discrete projects effectively by adopting in-house (vertical) system in music production and increasing the size of firms. Second, they pursued global market and utilized the window of opportunities based on a proven music genre. Third, K-Pop firms pursued the incremental innovation in the product development. Since these characteristics have many similarities with the catch-up strategy in the manufacturing sector, Korean catch-up experience could provide valuable insight into the development of creative industries in Korea.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide academic and practical implications through empirical analysis on the moderating role of SHRM that is relatively lacking in the relationship between CLMRC and performance. In order to achieve the research purpose, data were collected from 123 CEOs of Korean companies. The reliability and validity of the collected data were examined and the hypothesis was verified by hierarchical regression analysis. The results of this study show that CLMRC has a meaningful positive(+) effect on both net profit and sales per person, and SHRM has shown to have a moderating effects between CLMRC and sales per person, CLMRC and net profit. Through this analyzes, CLMRC can enhance the management performance, and in this process, the more strategic the human resource management(HRM) is, the more the impact on the management performance is strengthened. • This study is an exploratory study on the factors that affect the types of user's coping strategies in online game harassment situations. A survey(N=416) was conducted to investigate the experiences of harassment in online games, expectations on organizational response, and the frequencies of selecting each type of coping strategy. The result shows that the female users usually experience more harassment than the male users, especially in sexual harassment. Female users often choose gender masking, seeking help, avoidance, and mirroring strategies compared to males, while males choose self-blame. The effects of harassment experiences, expectation on organizational response, and gender on each type of coping strategy were analyzed using the structural equation model(SEM). Sexual harassment experiences significantly affect all types of strategies, and the higher the expectation on organizational response, the more likely users to seek help rather than to select gender masking. These results are expected to serve the basis for establishing harassment-related regulations in online games.

  • This study is the result of the operation of Project-Based Leaning (PBL) conducted at S Women's University's Teaching and Learning Center. This study investigated the learning outcomes and learning satisfaction of participating learners. The questionnaire for this study consisted of a total of 28 questions on learning strategies (peer learning strategies, critical review strategies, elaboration strategies, super cognitive, and online project activities) and learning satisfaction. For the survey, 300 students (first semester: 210 students, second semester: 90 students) participated in the 2020 project-based learning. As for the pre and post questionnaire results, the average of the post questionnaires of the first and second semesters was higher than pre-questionnaires result. After taking project-based learning in the first and second semesters, the average of learning strategy and learning satisfaction improved. It was confirmed that the project activities are helpful in learning activities and increase participation in class. Based on this, it implies that in-depth PBL research in a non-face-to-face learning environment should be continued.

  • User involvement in New Service Development(NSD) has attracted the limelight as a good method, but we still lack an empirical analysis of the effectiveness of user involvement. In addition, positive and negative determinants of user involvement in NSD have not often been dealt with in past research, and this deficiency has been identified as a barrier to the effective utilization and diffusion of user involvement in NSD. To our knowledge, this is the first study to empirically investigate the degree of implementation of user involvement in NSD, the effectiveness of user involvement, and the utilization strategy in the digital content industry. First, we reveal that ordinary user involvement is more effective for NSP performance than lead users or business partner companies. Second, we empirically demonstrate that the effectiveness of involving lead user and ordinary user in NSP is different according to the new service type and service development stage. Based on the results of our analyses, we suggest some strategic directions for the companies who want to newly adopt or improve their current level of user involvement in NSD. We expect that the implications of this study will be utilized for efficient diffusion of user involvement in NSD and will eventually contribute to tangible achievements for companies in the digital content industry.

  • This paper presents several reasons for the necessity of archaeological hands-on training and strategies for its implementation. First, it is necessary to produce a specialized manual for local cultural heritage education that can enhance the specialization and educational effectiveness of archaeological experience education. In addition, in order to secure professionalism in hands-on education and conduct it systematically, the ability of instructors to conduct education is important, so instructor competence reinforcement education needs to be conducted regularly. In addition, hands-on education needs a strategy of planning and content development of archaeological education programs, with consideration given to the subjects of learning, and the establishment of a cooperative network. It is time to cooperate with various experts to establish an education system necessary for cultural heritage education in the region and develop customized content for local archaeological heritage supplementary textbooks. Finally, due to Covid-19, we agonized over effective education plans for online archaeological heritage education, which requires active interaction class design and a strategy to promote interaction between professors and learners. In addition, such archaeological heritage education should be compatible with the goal of providing customized lifelong education.

  • This research aims to analyze the characteristics of the channel brand components, identities in accordance with the organizational strategies of the programmes, and brand structures of the comprehensive programming channels. The channels promote themselves mobilizing a variety of channel brand components and, ecxept Channel A, JTBC, TV Chosun, and MBN coined its names which are reminiscent of their parents corporations. The organizational strategies of the programmes are related with the channel identities. TV Chosun, for instance, branded themselves as 'conservative advocate' while focusing on news programs, and Channel A also takes conservative bias strategy focusing on the news programmes, especially after the 2012 presidential election. JTBC, however, organizes drama and entertainment programmes intensively being equivalent to that of terrestrial broadcasting programmes, and MBN positioned neutral and center with the news and cultural programmes. Referring to the brand architecture, which reveals the structural system of the brand, it is argued that TV Chosun and MBN take the integrated corporate brand strategy, while JTBC tries to mix and balance the brands of the parent corporation and its own independent one. Channel A, exceptionally, doesn't take a name of its parent corporation 'Dong-A'. In conclusion, it is argued that the comprehensive programming channels utilize and take the parent corporate brand, mixed brand, and independent brand in accordance with the brand power and circumstances of their own parent corporates.
