Understanding and Evaluation of Spring Autumn-Hak by Academic Circle of the Early Qing Dynasty - Focused on 「Gyeongbu·Spring Autumn」,『Sagojeyo』 (청초(淸初) 학술계의 춘추학(春秋學)에 대한 이해와 평가 - 『사고제요(四庫提要)』 「경부(經部)·춘추류(春秋類)」를 중심으로)

  • The academic circle of the Qing Dynasty has seen a new trend, mostly based on Han-Hak through the event of the publication of "Sagojeyo" and sought a new change in the sector of Spring Autumn-Hak as well. This study is focused on understanding and evaluation of the developmental process of especially the traditional Spring Autumn-Hak view, among some views of "Sagojeyo" by the book. "Sagojeyo" does a critical analysis of Gongyang-Hak and Gokryang-Hak and the interpretation of "Spring Autumn" made by Song-Hak scholars, and which seems a kind of preparatory step to build up a new research methodology for Spring Autumn-Hak. "Sagojeyo" emphasizes the importance of "Jwacijeon" and also points out its weaknesses and strongly demands the acceptance of strengths "Gongyangjeon" and "Gokryangjeon" have in order to compensate such demerits. Even further, it tries to evaluate Spring Autumn-Hak of the Song Dynasty objectively and reasonably as possible with no prejudice. Such analysis attitude made it possible for Spring Autumn-Hak to get a new turning point starting from the publication of "Sagojeyo". The new research methodology that comprehensively judges historical research and fidelity discourse could be one of important achievements discovered in the Han-Hak-centered academic circle in the early Qing Dynasty.

건암(健菴) 금형관(金炯觀)의 중국역사인물(中國歷史人物)에 대한 보구론(報仇論) 고찰(考察) -형가(荊軻), 예양(豫讓), 오자서(伍子胥), 장량(張良)을 중심으로-

  • 本论文以健庵金炯观文集为中心, 以他的学问和思想为基础, 对至今论文中尚不见提及的复仇论进行了分析, 以阐明其特色. 最终得出的结论是健庵认为为了忠孝义的复仇是正当的, 而对为了消解私利, 功绩, 忿怒的复仇, 则持否定看法. 这基本上可以说是站在儒者立场上的观点. 复仇的方法分为刺客和征伐两种, 如果是为忠孝和义理的复仇, 那么使用刺客和征伐都可以. 而对于那些剖棺斬屍或是一时屈服, 心怀二心, 之后再复仇的行为, 则持反对的看法. 另外, 在复仇时, 重视等时借力的方法. 按照时机, 等候机遇, 然后果断实行. 反对那些为了私忿, 私益, 功绩, 无勇无谋, 自招杀祸的愚蠢行为. 健庵身为儒学者, 基本上是尊重仁义王道和春秋大义, 反对用武力进行征伐的霸道行为. 所以他认为刺客与征伐在一定的条件下, 有时可以作为捷径使用. 健庵的这种观点, 与他处于日帝强占期这种时代状况不无关系. 他亲身经历过日帝强占期的弹压, 听说过安重根义士和尹奉吉义士的义举, 从历史书中发掘选相关的例子, 发表自己的谈论, 持有自己的观点. 因此, 健庵虽然是追从朱熹学说的儒学者, 但是在他的复仇论中, 他的观点更合理性. 可以说健庵是一名能够根据所处时机, 追求符合义理的时中之道的儒者.

A Study on Records Management System through Kyeonggukdaejeon(經國大典) (『경국대전』의 기록관리 규정)

  • This study is focused on clarifying the Joseon Dynasty Period's records management system mentioned on Kyeonggukdaejeon(經國大典). Through out investigations of the legislations of public records in 'creating stage', it was revealed. that is, records in creating stage had characters of original records and those was managed as the records themselves and circulated by sending and receiving, and finally those was kept and used in each agency. Through out investigations of the legislations of public records in 'management stage', it was revealed that is, as the Records Management Organization the Chunchukwan(春秋館) was a government agency that is composed by 15 central government agencies' concurrent officials(兼任史官) and took charge of both records creating and records management, and was a central government body for compilation of the Sillok(實錄). As National Archives the Sillok was not accessible at that time. In this point the Sillok is basically different from modem archives that is preserved for use. And the Sillok was compiled from original records, In this point the Sillok is basically different from modern archives that is arranged from original records.

Gyeongjae O Chiik's Views on Classical Studies (경재(褧齋) 오치익(吳致翼)의 경학관(經學觀))

  • This paper analyzes the views of Gyeongjae O Chiik on Classical Studies. O is the second son of Noju O Heesang (1763-1833). The characteristics of his views are as follows. First, unlike his father, Gyeongjae is more interested in Chinese Textual Criticism than in Hsing-li hsüeh. Therefore, he provides textual interpretation in detail with erudition in his Manrok and Munjip on the formation and problems for such classics as The Four Classics, The Classic of Poetry, The Book of Changes, The Rites of Zhou, The Book of Rites, and The Spring and Autumn Annals. Second, his openness. He didn't canonize The Book of Changes. Also, he thought that the analysis of Jeongja in his Annotation on the Book of Changes and Zhuxi's Original Interpretations, the absolute authority of the time, were not the only interpretation possible. He argued that other interpretation is possible depending on perspectives and it is desirable. We can see that Gyeongjae had transcended the world view of Zhuxi Studies. Third. he put the emphasis on the theories during the Han dynasty. He showed the inclination toward the Yuheung theories rather than Zhuxi theories in regard of the discussion of names in The Analects of Confucius. Fourth, unlike other Confucius scholars in Chosun, he showed interests in Gongyangjeon and Gokryangjeon. He compiled Gonggokmunseon with beautiful writings from both works. Fifth, he was interested in the dynamics of constant numbers. He grasped that what is important in the Book of Changes is not right principles but constant numbers and points. Thus he compiled Sangjeomyuhoe. Besides, he was also interested in the Rites of Zhou.

A Study on the Visible Injury of some Herbaceous Plants by $SO_2$ gas (수종(數種) 초본류(草本類)의 $SO_2$ 가스에 의한 가시피해특징(可視被害特徵)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • $SO_2$ gas injuries for 19 varieties of 10 species of plants were investigated within a environmentally controlled growth chamber. Visible injuries were observed when exposing the plants either 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.7 or 1.5ppm of $SO_2$ gas for 5 days from 9 : 00 to 17 : 00 everyday. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Light brown spots were shown on Raphanus sativus(Chunchu, Taeback, Jinjudaepyung), Brassica campestris(Manchun, Josaengmiho, Seoul, Jeonseung), and Capsicum annum(Searona, Hongsanho, Hongilpum); brown spots on Sesamum indicum(Pungnyun, Kwangsan); reddish brown shades on Cleosia cristata; and black brown spots on Perilla frutescens, Calendula officinalis, Chrysanthemum morifolium, and Salvia splendens, respectively. 2. The spotty injuries induced by $SO_2$ gas injuries for 19 varieties of 10 species of plants were investigated within a environmentally controlled growth chamber.   • During the Pre-Qin(秦) Dynasty era, there were the records that there had been many calendar systems, such as $g{\check{u}}-li{\grave{u}}-l{\grave{i}}$(古六曆 : six ancient calendar systems). Then, the fact that particularly $zh{\bar{o}}u-l{\grave{i}}$(周曆) and $xi{\grave{a}}-l{\grave{i}}$(夏曆) were mainly discussed among them resulted from a lot of discussions from the differences in the calendar system in "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$(春秋)" known to have been written by Confucius from the calendar system in "$X{\acute{i}}ng-xi{\grave{a}}-zh{\bar{i}}-sh{\acute{i}}$(行夏之時 : implement the calendar of Ha dynasty.)" that Confucius mentioned himself to his disciple. $zh{\bar{o}}u-l{\grave{i}}$(周曆) with $d{\bar{o}}ngzh{\grave{i}}-yu{\grave{e}}$(冬至月 : the 11th month of the lunar calendar) as the first month of a year had the system of the lunar calendar, and $xi{\grave{a}}-l{\grave{i}}$(夏曆) called as the calendar of Ha(夏) dynasty had the system of $ji{\acute{e}}-q{\grave{i}}-l{\grave{i}}$(節氣曆 : a kind of the solar calendar that divides one year of 365 days into 24 solar terms) with $y{\acute{i}}n-yu{\grave{e}}$(寅月 :one month from the present Feb 5) as the first month of a year. These two calendars had definite differences in the first months of a year, names of seasons, and the lunar calendar and the solar calendar. The fundamental reason why Confucius recommended the performance of $xi{\grave{a}}-l{\grave{i}}$(夏曆) as a way to run the nation was not that it started from the philosophical view of the universe that among the 'three $zh{\bar{e}}ng$'(三正)' of $ti{\bar{a}}n-zh{\bar{e}}ng$(天正 : the first month of a year with the heaven as the standard), $d{\grave{i}}-zh{\bar{e}}ng$(地正 : the first month of a year with the earth as the standard) and $r{\acute{e}}n-zh{\bar{e}}ng$(人正 : the first month of a year with humans as the standard), but that he wanted to emphasize the importance of practical national economic policies to enhance agricultural productivity. It becomes the criterion that even though Confucius emphasized that politicians should not have moral flaws ideally, with regard to public policies, he wanted to stress politicians' duties based on the reality a lot.

  • Mankind spends a third of it's lifetime sleeping. Sleep deficiency can cause several psychological and physical complications - as well as death - if prolonged over extended periods. Therefore, sleep is a substantial part of life and essential to the preservation of human-life. In modern society, human-beings are having more difficulty with sleep than ever before. Consequently, the need for medical research on sleep has increased as well. There are no studies in current western medicine that focuses entirely on sleep alone. However, there have been ongoing research by traditional eastern medicine on sleep and sleep-related-dysfunctions since ancient times which has yielded diverse results. Undertaken a study of the sleep and sleep-related-dysfunction in traditional medicine of East-asia, I have summarized my studies into the following. 1. From ancient china to the age of the warring state(戰國時代) - ground on few data that we can get - humans have a simple and rough cognizance of sleep and sleep-related- dysfunction. But people are little removed from shamanism yet. 2. After Han(漢) dynasty, in "Huang Di Nei Jing(黃帝內經)" and "Shang Han Lun(傷寒論)" and "Jin Gui Yao Lue(金匱要略)", people present a basic physiology and pathology of sleep. 3. The theory has improved repeatedly in quality and quantity through "Zhen Jiu Jia Yi Jing(針灸甲乙經)" of Huang Fu Mi(皇甫謐) of Jin(晉) dynasty, "Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang(備急千金要方)" of Sun Si Miao(孫思邈) of Tang(唐) dynasty to "Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang(太平聖惠方)" of Song(宋) dynasty.

견우성은 어느 별인가?

  • 견우와 직녀의 사랑 이야기가 얽혀 있는 두 별은 여름철을 대표하는 별들로서 중국 문화권에서는 지난 수 천 년 동안 매우 인기가 높은 별이었다. 두 별은 중국의 춘추전국시대의 노래를 모아 놓은 시경(詩經)에 이미 등장하고 있고, 서기 408년에 조성된 고구려의 덕흥리 고분 속에 있는 벽화에도 그려져 있다. 고려시대에는 이 별들에 대한 국가적인 제사를 지냈으며, 조선 시대에는 칠월칠석에 국왕이 신하들과 어울려 잔치를 베풀고 칠석시(七夕詩)를 지어서 책으로 편찬하는 일도 있었다. 한편 견우성은 주로 농사와 관계된 별점을 가지고 있었고, 시각제도와 긴밀한 관계가 있는 28宿(수)의 하나였으므로 천문학자들이 지속적으로 관심을 갖고 관측한 별이다. 그러한 관측의 결과는 고려사, 조선왕조실록, 승정원일기 등에 다수가 남아 있다. 그런데 동양 천문학에서 이미 널리 다루어졌던 문제 가운데 하나는, 바로 이 문학적 견우성과 천문학적 견우성이 일치하지 않는다는 것이다. 지금 일반 시민들에게 견우성은 독수리자리의 알테어(Altair)로 알려져 있다. 그러나 모든 사서와 고대 천문서 및 천문도가 지칭하는 견우성은 염소자리의 다비(Dabih)라는 별이다. 견우성이 28宿(수)의 하나라는 사실은 그 별(별자리)이 황도와 백도 근처에 있어야 함을 의미한다. 따라서 알테어는 적위가 높아서 도저히 28宿(수)에 속할 수가 없다. 게다가 알테어는 은하수 속에 들어가 있으므로, 견우와 직녀가 은하수를 사이에 두고 마주보고 있다는 일반적인 설화와도 어긋난다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 현재 대다수의 서적과 매체, 그리고 일반인을 대상으로 한 행사와 천문관에서 상영되는 프로그램들에는 모두 알테어를 견우성으로 하여 설명하고 있다. 이러한 불일치는 상당한 혼란을 초래하고 있는 상황이다. 이 연구에서는 이러한 불일치가 천문학적인 견우성과 인문학적인 견우성의 불일치로 보고, 이 문제를 실증적으로 접근해 본다. 즉, 고려사, 조선왕조실록, 승정원일기에 실려 있는 견우성 엄폐 관측 기록을 조사하여 한국사에서 전문 천문학자들은 어느 별을 견우성이라고 보아왔는지 알아보고, 또한 일반인들이 지은 시문에는 어떤 별을 견우성으로 여겼는지 고찰한다. 아울러 역사적으로 이 문제에 대한 선인들의 생각을 짚어보고, 중국과 일본의 학자들은 이 문제를 어떻게 바라보고 있는지를 살핀 다음, 마지막으로 현실적으로 이 문제를 어떻게 해결할 수 있는지 고찰해 본다.

A Study on the History of Chinese Roadside Tree through Old Literatures Review (고문헌 고찰을 통한 중국 가로수의 역사에 대한 연구)

  • For a systematic research of the history of Chinese roadside trees, this study analyzed various ancient writings of China according to following topics; the philosophical backgrounds and diverse species of Chinese roadside trees in different periods, as well as the management systems and existent remains of ancient Chinese roadside trees. The analyses draw the following conclusion. First, the thoughts from Lao-tzu, Chuang-tzu, Mo-tzu, Mencius and Guan-tzu from Hundred Schools of Thought of Warring States Period had laid certain impact on the fundamental attitude of the Chinese roadside tree management system. Secondly, various and different species of Roadside Trees were planted from each time period: amongst all, Willow trees were the most common, and Pine trees to be the next common. Besides, fruit trees such as peach trees and plum trees had been largely selected as roadside trees from the Zhou dynasty to the Ming dynasty. Thirdly, the names of roadside trees and the government officials who managed the roadside trees were different in each era. Fourthly, the oldest existent remain of roadside trees in China, which dates back over 2000 years, is located in Jiange Cuiyun Corridor of Sichuan province.
