22.9kV/50MVA급 고온초전도 전력케이블의 교류손실 (The AC loss of 22.9kV/50MVA High-Tc Superconducting Power Cable)

  • An HTS power cable is generally composed of 2 layers for conducting and 1 layer for shielding. For the analysis of AC loss of an HTS power cable, 2-dimensional magnetic field analysis is carried out. The magnetization loss in HTS cable core was calculated, and the transport current loss was obtained from the monoblock equation and the elliptical Norris Equation. And the total AC loss of the cable was expected by the sum of magnetization loss and transport current loss. The variation of ac loss with respect to the gap and uncertain factor between the superconducting tapes was investigated, and the ac loss of 22.9kV/50MVA high-Tc superconducting power cable was calculated. These results well agree with those of experiment.

  • In order to verify the extended theory, we have fabricated a two layers cable with the same twisting layer pitch. It was observed that almost all the operational current less than the critical current flowed on the outer layer because of its lower inductance. In case of operational current more than critical currents of layers, the flux flow resistances affect strongly current waveform and thereby the currents of layers were determined by the flux flow resistances. And we investigated withstand voltage, impulse voltage and breakdown characteristics of mini-model cable. In these test, the withstand voltage and impulse voltage test was satisfied and the breakdown voltage was 110kV.

  • The model of terminal cryostat for HTS power cable is conceptually designed. In this paper we defined that heat loads of the terminal cryostat was only cooled by the liquid nitrogen without cooling gas. Total heat loss calculated by analytical and numerical methods are 46.4W at 0A and 69W at 1260A for the 3-Phase HTS power cable system of 50MW, 22.9kV.

  • High temperature super conducting(HTS) cable system for power transmission are under development that will be cooled by sub-cooled liquid nitrogen to provide cooling of the cable and termination. The target of the development during the first 3-years stage is 22.9kV/50MVA class and 30m length cold dielectric type 3-phase power cable. The essential features of the HTS cable cryogenic system and performance conditions for the design of power cable will be discussed.

  • High current density Bi-2223 tapes have recently become commercially available. The ac loss is an important issue in the design of high-T$_{c}$ superconducting power cables. In such complicated devices, special caution is required in the placing of voltage leads for measuring the in-phase voltage. In this paper, the ac losses for different contacts and arrangements of voltage leads have been experimentally investigated in a single layer model cable and discussed.d.

  • In this paper we present the results of tests for the high-Tc superconducting (HTS) power cable core. A prototype HTS cable cores have been constructed using Bi-2223 based Ag-sheathed HTS tapes. HTS cable cores has been tested at 77K with DC currents. Results shows that the cable cores carrying up to 700A DC and self-field effects are discussed.

  • Superconducting power cable is one of the most promising energy application of high-Tc superconductors (HTS). Thus, we investigated previously the characteristics on electrical and mechanical Bi-2223 Ag sheathed tape. And a prototype HTS cable have been designed, constructed and tested. The result shows that the transport current of HTS cable (1, 19-filament) in LN2 was 116[A], 240[A], respectively. And AC loss of HTS cable(19-filament) was 1.7 [W/m] in 240 [A] loading.

  • In this study, we performed long lange power transmission expansion planning for conceptual design of HTS power cable in Seoul area. Since the HTS power cable has the high power transmission density and low loss characteristics in comparison with conventional power cables, the HTS power cable is introduced between the downtown and the suburbs in the future system in order to verify the feasibility of the HTS power transmission cables technically and to encourage the research activity in the area.

  • Termination cryostat for 22.9kV, 1.26kA-class HTS power cable has been designed. The cryostat consists of vacuum vessel, liquid nitrogen vessel, current lead and HTS power cable. The current lead and the HTS power cable are connected in liquid nitrogen vessel cooled by forced-circulation subcooled liquid nitrogen. The maximum total heat load of this cryostat is expected to be 150w. In this paper, the detailed design of the termination cryostat is mentioned.
