Dual Structure of the Theory of 'Tao' in East Asia (동아시아 도론(道論)의 이중구조 탐색 - '도'와 '길'의 변증법적 길항(拮抗) 관계 -)

  • In this paper I study the theoretical characteristic of 'Tao' based on Confucianism. Tao, the most widely used keyword in the history of East Asian philosophy, has amassed ever-greater variety of meaning as time has passed and schools divided into more subdivided schools. Among the many attributes of Tao, the most important thing I think is that Tao has a dual structure between 'Tao' and 'Way'. Somewhere to be reached is called 'Tao', and the pathway that leads to the destination is called 'Way'. In other words, 'Tao' is existence itself, and 'Way' is type of existence. 'Tao' can be goal, and 'Way' can be process. 'Tao' has originality, continuance, and honesty as its own traits, while 'Way' has humanity, practice, and dailiness as its traits. After all, in a broad sense, Tao has a dual structure between the existence and the type of existence; 'Tao' and 'Way'. Many philosophers in Western society have also paid attention to this Tao trait. Among them, Heidegger gave his opinion that is closest to the East Asians. I want to explain why the human beings are the existence on the pathway through this paper. The existence(Tao) and the type of existence(Way) cannot be separated. So, there cannot be existence without type, and type of non-existence is useless. From this point of view, 'Tao' can be both existence and type of existence.

Shelley's Politics of Discourse (셸리와 담론정치 -『개혁에 대한 철학적 고찰』을 중심으로)

  • Despite some critics' efforts to highlight Shelley's political fruitfulness, they tend to disregard meaningful differences that Shelley has from other Jacobin radicals of his times. Accordingly, the critics tackle his apparent incoherence revealed in A Philosophical View of Reform; the first two sections contain a keen insight into the socio-political injustice prevalent in Britain and the reasons behind it, while the third section withdraws from the previous radical position and settles with a moderate electorate reform. This paper argues that recent developments in post-structuralist and post-Marxist theory help to clearly assess Shelley's political position. Emphasizing that the Jacobin concept of revolution is incompatible with the plurality and opening which a radical democracy requires, post-marxists such as Ernest Laclau and Chantal Mouffee claim that a more viable form of political resistance is to expose repression and force involved in hegemonic articulations. For them, dislocation, a distabilization of a discourse that results from the emergence of events which cannot be domesticated, symbolized, or integrated within the discourse, opens up the possibility of freedom for agents. A Philosophical View of Reform is an attempt to dislocate the discourses of monarchy and paper money by exposing their social and historical constructiveness and their repressive exclusion of alternative discourses. The political goal of this essay is to awaken subjects within a hegemonic structure by decentering the structure and to make them act by stimulating new discoursive constructions.

Education and Freedom for the 'Pick-Me' Generation in reading of Chun-suk Oh and Byun-chul Han (픽미세대를 위한 자유교육 소고: 천원 오천석의 자유 개념을 중심으로)

  • This paper begins with the notion of 'pick-me generation', which refers to today's young generation in Korea. It is named after the title of a song introduced at the Television programme for the competitive audition for girl-group singers. This name gives an idea of the atmosphere of the competition that the current young generation experiences in South Korea. In parallel to it, the research examines the meaning of freedom and choice in democratic education in Oh Chunsuck, in his later work in particular. This paper attempts to demonstrate the possibility to relate Oh's notion of freedom and democracy in relation to Han who critically analyses contemporary discourses on neo-liberalism and democracy. This paper re-views Oh's ideals of democracy and education within its own limitations on freedom. The argument extends Oh's idea of freedom and ethical democracy to the idea of freedom that is relevant to today's younger generation.

A Nietzsche's Critical Theory of Justice (니체의 정의론에 대한 비판적 고찰)

  • In order to reveal the differentiation of Nietzsche's justice theory, this paper attempted an intrinsic analysis of the political act of establishing a social contract with others through the fundamental concept of "will to the power", and the politics of modern nation including utilitarianism, liberalism and democracy. I will deal with criticism of ideology. In other words, it will be a work to clarify the fictitiousness and errors by digging out the ground of the value of justice as 'genealogical psychology' which strips off the psychological layers hidden behind the name of universal truth called 'virtue'. By dismantling the notion of self-righteous justice based on 'virtue' from 'immorality' as well as 'out of morality', it aims to reveal a new emotional dimension based on love, not retaliation. When Nietzsche emphasizes the role of positive emotions such as 'mercy' and 'forgiveness' rather than negative emotions such as revenge, retaliation, and grudge, while analyzing justice in the dynamics of power relations, By allowing exception rule, we will critically analyze whether universality and consistency are lost.

Dam am Baek-Moonbo's Historical Awareness (담암(淡庵) 백문보(白文寶)의 역사의식)

  • The objective of this thesis is to take review historical awareness of Baek-Moonbo(白文寶, 1303~1374) who lived in late Goryeo. Baek-Moonbo became interested in Confuciaism, the influence of Gwon-bu(權溥) and Baek-ijeong(白?正), and worked hard to reform the old egime by focusing on the Confucian scriptures and trying to reform thepeople of the nation. Instead of returning to the principles of heresy, Baek-Moonbo attempted to reverse the topograpy divination theory, including the Confucian scriptures of the Buddist criptures, and attempted to eradicate the land system, including the Baebulsungyu(排佛崇儒) of the Confucian scriptures. Most important of all, the importance of social change was the significance of social change to the most efficient means of realizing the lives of the people in the society according to the social structure of the Confucian society. Actively speaking for the public in his time and having the same attitude as the Neo-Confucian scholars in the late of Goryeo, he kept criticizing the abuse of the power by powerful families who made the people fall into a state of distress and misery.

  • 한국 대중문화의 발전과 더불어 국내외에서는 한류라는 브랜드로 대한민국의 문화와 대한민국 자체에 대하여 많은 호감과 함께 질투의 시선을 보내고 있다. 이러한 대한민국의 대중문화산업은 이제 대한민국을 벗어나 우리만의 문화가 아닌 세계를 지향하며 공감대를 형성하는 문화로 발전하고 있으며, 대중적인 인기를 얻고 있는 스타들이 문화첨병의 역할을 하고 있는 상황이다. 이제 한국의 대중문화는 우리만의 것이 아닌 세계인과 소통하고 나누어야 하는 문화인 것이다. 대한민국의 문화산업은 이제 가파른 성장만이 아닌 기본에 충실한 역사와 철학을 수반해야 할 것이며, 대중에 대한 사회적인 책임과 역할을 수행함으로써 더욱더 세계의 문화와 교감하며 발전해 나갈 수 있을 것이다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 대중들의 사랑을 통하여 성장하는 스타들의 사회적 기여와 그 활동에 대한 사례를 살펴보고 한류의 지속적인 발전과 문화 창출을 위한 올바른 소셜테이너로서의 책임 및 역할과 지구공동체를 위한 힐링 소사이어티에 대하여 고찰해 보고자 한다.

교육기관의 마케팅 패러다임 변화에 대한 고찰

  • 본 연구는 비영리기관인 교육기관에 있어서 마케팅 패러다임이 어떻게 변화되고 있는지에 대한 포괄적인 내용을 검토해 보는데 주안점을 두고 있다. 마케팅개념이 주로 영리기관을 중심으로 소비자의 욕구만족이라는 개념으로 받아들여져 기업은 내적으로 효율적인 생산과 제품에 초점을 두는 경영철학을 견지하면서 기존의 마케팅 패러다임인 마케팅믹스 사고로 접근해 왔다. 그러나 최근 기업이 성장 발전하기 위해서는 고객의 현재적 욕구뿐만 아니라 잠재적 욕구까지도 미리 찾아내어 충족시킴으로 고객을 창조하고 더 나아가 고객을 감동시키고 지속적 관계유지를 위한 마케팅 패러다임으로 이동하고 있다. 비영리기관인 교육기관에 있어서도 마케팅개념의 도입과 전개과정은 영리기관의 마케팅패러다임의 변화와 일치하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 교육기관에 있어서 기존의 마케팅믹스 사고로 접근한 비영리 마케팅과 서비스마케팅을 재음미 해보고 새로운 통찰력을 제시해 주고 있는 마케팅패러다임의 변화와 새롭게 등장한 관계마케팅을 비영리기관인 교육기관에의 적용에 대해서 향후 구체적 연구에 대하여 문제제기를 하고 있다는 점에서 큰 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

Ecology and Naturalistic Justice in Nietzsche (니체의 생태학과 자연주의적 정의)

  • This paper examines how Nietzsche, criticizing anti-naturalist philosophies, reformulated concepts of nature and human nature, and revaluated them from the perspective of naturalism. Especially, it focuses on his task for naturalistic ethics to naturalize nature and to place man back into nature. This paper also tries to reinterpret his attempt to transfer the concept of justice from the metaphysical realm to the naturalistic one, which seems to give some important insights to develop theory of environmental justice, while pointing out some limitations in his naturalistic concept of justice.

The study on the view of death in the Buddhism for well dying's culture formation (웰다잉(well dying) 문화 형성을 위한 불교의 죽음관 연구)

  • Recently, the social concerns on well dying come to the fore as important discourse on dignity of human death, which detonation by the problem of euthanasia. Well dying means 'good death' the meaning of a word, and it means 'prepared death', 'decented death' 'beautiful death' by extention of sematic context like this as a general rule. In this paper the writter have considered that how the view of Buddhism's death contribute to the discourse on well dying, which regarding death as the starting point, death conquest as the finishing point of the theory. The Buddhism's discourse on the attitude interpretation conquest process of death contributed to formation of abundant discourse on well dying, especially the view of Buddhism is able to contribute to conquest of death anxiety and death education, that death conquest interpret to spiritual psychological phenomenon not physical physiological eternal life (or immortality) and conquer death through enlightenment on reality of things by spiritual psychological change.
