Effects of Career Barriers, Perceived by Undergraduate Students Majoring in Public Health in Technical Colleges, on Career Preparation Behavior (전문대학 보건계열 학부생이 지각하는 진로장벽이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study identified factors that have an influence on career preparation behavior in undergraduate students majoring in public health in technical colleges with the aim to provide basic data for the development of an employment counselling program which can have a positive influence on career preparation behavior. The subjects of this study were 556 college students studying public health in technical colleges in J $province^1$, J $province^2$, and G metropolitan city and they were randomly selected and sampled in convenience. The period of the survey was from September 7 to 9, 2015 and the survey was made with the use of a self-essay type questionnaire. 510 copies of the survey collected were analysed with the use of SPSS 14.0 for Windows. As a result it is shown that career barriers perceived by students studying public health in technical colleges had a negative effect on career preparation behavior. Therefore, organized and practical career counselling should be provided and career education programs should be developed to encourage subjects to have positive career preparation behavior. Therefore, it is suggested that practical career counselling and career education program should be developed to lead students studying public health to positive career preparatory activity, and research to verify its effect should be conducted.

The Effect of Grit Enhancement Group Coaching Program on the Improvement of Career Preparation Behavior and Career Attitude Maturity of Female University Students (그릿향상 그룹코칭 프로그램이 여대생의 진로준비행동 및 진로태도성숙 향상에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of the coaching program on enhancing Grit. In addition, we wanted to examine the positive effects of Grit improvement on career preparation behavior and career attitude. Participants in this program were recruited from college students in a women university located in Seoul. They were assigned to both experimental and control group, 10 for each group. The program was conducted once a week for 90 minutes per session and a total of eight sessions were implemented. Pre-test, post-test, and follow-up test were conducted before, after, and 2 weeks after the coaching program. The results showed grit increased significantly for the experimental group, but not for the control group. Both the level of career preparation behavior and career attitude were also significantly improved only for the experimental group. In addition, the effect of the program was maintained for two weeks. Finally, the limitations of this study and suggestions for subsequent studies are described.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of career barriers on college students majoring in culinary arts on career preparation behavior, and the moderating effect of self-efficacy between career barriers and career preparation behavior. For this purpose, the data was collected through a questionnaire survey from four hundred and eleven students majoring in culinary arts at colleges in South Korea. The data were analyzed by using factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical analysis with SPSS 18.0. The results are as follows. Among the career barriers, the lack of job information and lack of interest had a significant negative influence on information gathering behavior, although physical inferiority had a significant positive influence on information gathering behavior. The lack of self-concept clarity and lack of job information had a significant negative influence on practical efforts, while conflicts with important others and physical inferiority had a significant positive influence on practical efforts. In addition, the lack of self-concept clarity, lack of job information, and lack of interest had a significant negative influence on tool preparation behavior. Pysical inferiority had a significant positive influence on tool preparation behavior. Self-efficacy showed a partial moderating effect between the lack of job information and tool preparation behavior. Managerial implications and limitations were also discussed.

The Study on Middle-aged and Older People's Vocational Training Participation and its Usefulness in their Boundaryless Career Perspective (무경계경력 관점에서 살펴본 중·고령자 직업훈련 참여 및 훈련활용도에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined characteristics and usefulness of middle-aged and older people's vocational training participation. Among sub-age groups categorized by the position in career cycle and the employability, 61~68 year old group(after retirement age group) had the biggest difficulties on the training including computer-based training and showed the lowest employment result compared to other sub age groups; major career(30~45), career transition preparation(46~52), career transition(53~60). However, the career transition age group utilized vocational training in the aspect of career search and the after-retirement age group in the aspect of preparation for older age and hobby. On the other hand, factors such as career adaptability and perceived education difficulties affected on the training usefulness in the aspects of career search and preparation for older age and hobby while perceived career barriers, career relevancy and relationship ability affected on the employment result. Based on these findings, this study suggests that vocational training provide more suited course for the boundaryless career seekers and include relationship enforcement and positive attitude development to overcome perceived career barriers for middle-aged and older people.

Analysis of Relationship between Parent Attachment and Career Maturity of Middle School Students (중학생들의 부모애착과 진로성숙도의 관계분석)

  • This study analyzed whether differences in individual characteristics and parental attachment affect the career maturity of middle school students in grades 1-3 in Asan, South Korea. Individual characteristics included gender, grade, grades, parental education, and economic level, while parental attachment included mutual trust, alienation, and communication. Career maturity included determinism, objectivity, readiness, independence, and assurance. Results showed there were significant differences in gender, grades, and economic level. Only gender differences affected attachment to mothers, with female students exhibiting stronger effects than male students. Grades that both the father and the mother showed differences. The economic level differed only in father's attachment. The effects of parental attachment on career maturity were found to be higher in career maturity with lower father's alienation and higher mother's mutual trust. Career maturity did not affect the assurance variable. Mother's communication affected determinism and mutual trust affected objectivity. Father's mutual trust and mother's communication affected readiness, and father's alienation showed a negative relationship. Mother's mutual trust positively affected independence. These results may be a valuable reference for understanding the behavioral psychology of adolescents and their parents. However, there is a limit to the generalizability of this study.

  • The Purpose of this study is to investigate mediating effects of satisfaction in major on the causal relationship between job image of students majoring airline service and career preparation behavior. This study employs a survey questionnaire to examine the mediating effect of satisfaction in major. A 33-item survey questionnaire was administered to 210 students in the universities in 4 Metropolitan cities. The research data are analyzed using six statistical methods: factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and three-step mediated regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, there is mediating effect of satisfaction in major in the causal relationship between job image and career preparation behavior.

청소년의 기회발견, 창의성 역량, 자기주도 학습력이 진로결정 자기효능감에 미치는 영향: 기업가정신을 매개로 하여

  • 21세기 4차 산업혁명 시대에 급변하는 산업과 기술 발전으로 인해 기존의 직업과 일자리의 위협과 변화가 커짐에 따라 청소년의 진로에 대한 준비는 더욱 절실해졌다. 청소년들은 급격한 기술 발전과 시장의 변화로 인한 기존 직업 소멸, 일생에서의 직업 활동기간의 비약적인 증가가 맞물려서 평생 한 번은 창직이나 창업을 해야만 하는 시대를 살고 있다. 이에 대비하기 위해 진로 및 직업활동에 대한 기회를 발견하고, 급변하는 시대와 시장의 다양한 문제들을 창의적으로 해결하고, 남들과 다르게 자신만의 방법으로 다방면의 경험과 지식을 쌓기 위한 자기주도적 학습력이 필수가 되었다. 본 연구는 그동안 다루어지지 않았던 청소년의 기회발견, 창의성 역량, 자기주도 학습력이 진로결정 자기효능감에 미치는 영향에 대해 청소년 진로교육 사례를 중심의 연구이다. 청소년에게 기회발견, 창의성 역량, 자기주도 학습력이 기업가정신의 매개로 하여 진로결정 자기효능감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 것이 주요 연구목적이다. 분석결과, 첫째로 기회발견, 창의성 역량, 자기주도 학습력은 진로결정 자기효능감에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기업가정신의 향상 정도에 따라 진로결정 자기효능감에 매개 역할을 부분적으로 하고 있음이 확인되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 앞으로 청소년의 진로 및 기업가정신 교육에 중요한 자료가 될 것이며, 향후 청소년 진로 및 기업가정신 교육 프로그램의 연구개발을 위해 관련 연구가 확대 되어야 할 것이다.

  • 고도의 산업화로 직업의 전문화 세분화 현상이 가속화되면서 개인으로 하여금 자신의 진로를 계획하고 준비하여 진로를 선택하게 하고, 선택한 진로를 계속 발전시켜 나갈 수 있도록 도와주는 과정인 진로교육의 필요성이 날로 증가하고 있다. 특히 진로 인식의 단계에 해당하는 초등학교 시기의 진로교육은 진로교육의 출발점에 해당하며 다음 단계의 진로교육에 영향을 미친다는 점에서 중요성을 가진다. 하지만 그 중요성에도 불구하고 시간과 자료의 부족으로 일선 초등학교에서는 지속적이며 체계적인 지도가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이러한 문제를 체결하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 진로교육에 인터넷을 도입하여 시간과 공간의 제약이 업고, 개별 학습이 가능한 인터넷의 장점을 지니면서 초등학생들의 진로교육 단계와 진로 발달 수준에 적합한 웹 기반 진로교육 시스템을 설계해 보았다.

An Effect of Big Five Personality Traits of Clinical Laboratory Science Students on Their Academic Satisfaction: Mediated Effect of Career Preparation (임상병리학과 학생들의 성격 5 요인특성이 학과만족도에 미치는 영향: 진로준비행동의 매개 효과)

  • This study investigated how the big five personality traits among clinical laboratory science students affect their levels of academic satisfaction and verified the mediating effect of career preparation in the context of these personality traits influencing academic satisfaction. A total of 300 college students attending a 3-year college in Daegu were surveyed, and 260 were analyzed. SPSS 22.0 was used for statistical analysis while Baron and Kenny (1986)'s three step method was carried out for basic analysis, correlation analysis, and verification of the mediating effect of the collected data. Results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the correlation analysis between variables shows that extroversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness among the big five personality traits had significant positive relationships with academic satisfaction and career preparation while neuroticism showed a significant negative relation with academic satisfaction and no significant relation with career preparation. Secondly, the mediating effect verification found that extroversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness, but not neuroticism, had significant mediating effects; extroversion especially was confirmed to have a complete mediating effect. Thus, methods are needed to improve academic satisfaction and career preparation in college.

대학생의 진로탄력성이 창업의지에 미치는 영향: 기업가정신교육 만족도의 조절효과 검증

  • 급변하는 미래 사회 환경에서의 청년 실업문제 및 직업진로에 대한 불안요소 극복을 위해서는 다양성에 대응하는 유연한 태도와 주도적인 진로 개발 역량 함양을 통한 실천적 자세가 요구된다. 사회 진출을 준비하는 대학생들에게 있어서 변화에 대응하는 새로운 혁신이 요구됨에 따라 기업가정신 교육의 필요성 또한 강조되고 있는 현실이다. 이는 비단 취업에만 국한되는 요구 역량이 아니며, 지속적으로 확장되고 있는 창업생태계에서 창업 지원 정책을 대하는 대학생 수요와 창업의지 변화에도 영향을 미칠 것이다. 본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 진로탄력성이 창업의지에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 기업가정신 교육 만족도가 진로탄력성과 창업의지 관계에서 조절 효과로서 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해, 대학생의 기업가정신 교육 경험 여부를 통제한 상태에서 기업가정신, 진로탄력성과 같은 개인의 내적 영향요인으로 창업의지에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 기업가정신 교육만족도의 조절 효과 여부를 확인하여 기업가정신 교육의 중요성을 밝히고 활성화하기 위해 본 연구를 진행하였다. 이를 통해 잠재적 창업가가 될 수 있는 대학생의 기업가정신 영향요인을 검증하고 연구 자료에 다양하게 비교할 수 있는 참고자료로서 도움이 되고자 한다.
