Relationship among Emotional Labor, Job Stress and Job Performance in Social Workers (사회복지사의 감정노동과 직무스트레스 및 직무성과의 관계)

  • This study examined the relationship between emotional labor, job stress and job performance for 226 social workers. The main results are as follows. First, the degree of attention to emotion expression, a sub-concept of emotional labor, had a positive effect on role conflict, a sub-concept of job stress, and emotional disharmony had a positive effect on role overload and role conflict. Second, attention level, emotional disharmony, and frequency of emotional labor, which are sub-concepts of emotional labor, did not have a statistically significant effect on both job performance and sub-concepts, role conflict, role conflict, and job ambiguity. Third, role overload and role conflict, which are sub-concepts of job stress, have a statistically significant negative impact on both in-role performance and out of role performance.

Effects of Job Stress, Self-Efficacy, and Mindfulness on Job Satisfaction according to MBTI Personality of Nurses (간호사의 MBTI 유형에 따른 직무스트레스, 자기효능감, 마음챙김이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of job stress, self-efficacy, and mindfulness on job satisfaction according to the MBTI type of nurses. The subjects of this study were 163 nurses working in medical institutions across the country, and data were collected from March 28 to April 20, 2024 through online (Google) questionnaires. MBTI preference indices were introvert type (I), sensory type (S), emotional type (F), and judgment type (J). In MBTI's four psychological function types, SF type was the most, SJ type was the most in MBTI's four psychological temperament types, and ISFJ type was the most in MBTI's 16 personality types. In this study, job satisfaction had a negative correlation with job stress, and self-efficacy and mindfulness had a positive correlation. As a result of this study, the factors affecting job satisfaction were job stress and self-efficacy, and the explanatory power was 43.6%. In order to improve the job satisfaction of nurses, it is necessary to develop stress management and self-efficacy enhancement programs and verify them.

The Work Stress and Coping Type of Nurses in Hospital (병원 간호사의 직무스트레스와 대처유형)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the stress from work and stress coping methods of hospital nurses. The study design was a descriptive survey research. There were a total of 168 hospital nurses included in this study. Data were analyzed by t test, ANOVA (Sheffe's test), and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS/WIN17.0. The stress level from work was 4.27 and stress coping methods was 2.67. Marital status was positively correlated with education level, current department, career duration, and current position. The education level was positively correlated with career period and current position. Current position was positively correlated with stress coping methods. A further follow-up study on nurses in hospital is necessary to relieve stress from work and to increase better stress coping methods. Moreover, to decrease the stress from work of nurses, it is necessary to develop a program that helps them to cope with stress. In addition, these findings contribute to the development of such program.

  • As interest in "beauty" increases due to the improvement of a high cultural level, job stress and emotional labor caused by nail workers working are gradually increasing, and it is judged that it should be solved in the beauty industry. This study investigated the effect of working stress and emotional labor on turnover intention of nail workers, and the survey tool was a questionnaire for 250 nail industry workers in Daejeon and Chungcheong. The SPSS 21.0 statistical program was used to analyze the collected data, and the research results showed that job stress and emotional labor of nail workers had a statistically significant correlation with turnover intention, indicating that there was a correlation between general job stress and emotional labor. Therefore, it is considered very important for research in this field to analyze the impact of job stress and emotional labor on turnover of nail industry workers and to provide basic data necessary for the development of this field, job satisfaction improvement, and work stress response. In order to establish the nail field as a part of the growing beauty industry, it is expected that there will be better research results if the turnover rate is reduced and compared and analyzed to improve job satisfaction through analysis of the causes of job stress and emotional labor of nail industry workers.

How Smart Workers Cope With Techno-Invasion Stress in Work Domain (스마트워크 사용자의 업무 영역에서 기술침해 스트레스 대응방안에 관한 연구)

  • With diffusion of Smart Work, a problem has been raised that Smart Work makes the boundary between work and nonwork blur, and may cause technostress. In order to find out whether Smart work copes with techno-invasion stress in work domain, we need to understand the precedence factors influencing on job satisfaction and the role of boundary management strategy which Smart Workers actively choose. This paper developed a research model containing a causal relationship among four factors, nonwork-to-work interference, job autonomy, job commitment, and job satisfaction, and the moderation effect of boundary management strategy. The findings show that overall hypotheses were accepted based on the pooled data, but three hypotheses test on job satisfaction by boundary management strategy type differed. These results suggest that in accordance with the boundary management strategy of Smart Work users, different change management need to be prepared.

Convergence Study on the Influence of Job Stress of Shift Work Nurses on Nursing Performance (교대 근무 간호사의 직무스트레스가 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 융합연구)

  • This study aimed to seek the way of effectively managing job stress of shift work nurses, to improve nursing performance, the influence of job stress of shift work nurses on nursing performance through convergence research. A total of 244 questionnaires obtained by a survey targeting nurses, who were doing shift work in a university hospital located in B city, in the period from March 2 to 15, 2015 were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. As a result, the mean score of job stress was 3.57 points, and the mean score of nursing performance was 3.69 points. Job stress made a significant positive(+) influence on the sub-dimensions of interpersonal duty. Therefore, efforts should be made to more accurately identify shift work nurses' job stress and efficiently manage the nursing personnel. Moreover, if shift work nurses' job stress is effectively managed by preparing practical job stress management intervention programs for continuous improvement of nursing performance, high quality medical services will be provided through high quality nursing practice.

The Relationship between Job Stress and Career Resilience of Fire Fighting Officers: The Mediation Effect of the Job Efficacy (소방공무원의 직무스트레스와 경력탄력성의 관계: 직무효능감의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediation effect of the job efficacy on the relationship between job stress and career resilience of fire fighting officers. The participants of this study were 151 Jeju Island local fire fighting officers. The research tools used were job stress scale, career resilience scale and job efficacy scale. The data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical program. Pearson's correlation analysis, hierarchical multiple regression analysis and the Sobel test were conducted. The results of this study are as follows: First, there was a significant negative correlation between the job stress and the career resilience and between the job stress and the job efficacy, while there was a significant positive correlation between the job efficacy and the career resilience. Second, the job efficacy of fire fighting officers was found to have a perfect mediation effect on the job stress and the career resilience. As a result, it was found that job efficiency as a mediator to cope with job stress can improve the work efficiency by improving the career resilience of fire fighting officers. Finally, the discussion and implication are provided based on the results.

Mediating Effect of Job Stress in the Relationship between Childcare Teachers' Personality and Child Abuse (보육교사의 인성과 아동학대 관계에서 직무스트레스의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of job stress between childcare teacher personality and child abuse, and provides basic data on personality education and coping strategies for childcare teachers' job stress. A survey was conducted on 326 childcare teachers working at daycare centers in Incheon, Korea. The collected questionnaires were subjected to regression analysis, multiple regression analysis, and Sobel's Z-test according to the research purpose with using SPSS 20.0. The research results are as follow. First, it was found that job performance, a sub-factor of childcare teacher personality, had an effect on child abuse. Second, it was found that the sub-factors of childcare teacher personality, humanity, creativity and personality, social relations, and job performance had an effect on job stress. Third, it was found that childcare activities, the sub-factors of job stress, and the relationship with parents had an effect on child abuse. Fourth, it was found that childcare activities, sub-factors of job stress, partially mediated between job performance and child abuse, a sub-factor of childcare teacher personality. These findings suggest that in order to prevent and contain child abuse by childcare teachers, specific plan must be actively prepared to improve job performance skills related to childcare teacher personality and reduce the burden of child care activities which is a sub-factor of job stress.

The Effect of Social Workers' Job Stress on Organizational Effectiveness and the Moderating Role of Organizational Commitment (사회복지사의 직무스트레스가 조직유효성에 미치는 영향과 조직몰입의 조절역할)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of job stress on organizational effectiveness and the moderating role of organizational commitment among social workers. For this study, date were collected from 236 social workers employed at social welfare institutions in the Metropolitan area with structured questionnaires and analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis technique. This study found that three job stress variables(role ambiguity, role conflict and workload) had negative effects on social workers' job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior, whereas they positively impacted on their intent to stay, and that organizational commitment buffered the deleterious effects on job stress on organizational effectiveness.

Effects of the Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Ward Nurses Occupational Stress on Safety Control and Patient Safety-related Nursing Activities (간호·간병 통합서비스 병동 간호사의 직무 스트레스가 안전통제감과 환자안전관리 활동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research study to identify the relevance of the occupational stress, safety control, and patient safety-related nursing activities of the nurses working in comprehensive nursing care service ward, and to check the effect of the occupational stress on safety control and patient safety-related nursing activities. From March 11 to April 17, 2019, 137 nurses who worked in comprehensive nursing care service ward at four general hospitals were studied. The results of this study suggest that occupational stress has a negative correlation with safety control and patient safety-related nursing activities, and occupational stress negatively affects safety control and patient safety-related nursing activities. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that the work environment will be improved to reduce the occupational stress in order to promote the safety control and patient safety-related nursing activities of nurses in comprehensive nursing care service ward, and the development of various programs for occupational stress management will be necessary.
