This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of smartphone addiction interventions among university students. Selection criteria included university students, smartphone addiction interventions, smartphone addiction, depression, anxiety, self-control and time of smartphone usage. A total of 915 articles were retrieved. From those, 15 studies from 13 articles fulfilled the inclusion criteria. A meta-analysis showed that smartphone addiction interventions undergone by university students had statistical significance in alleviating smartphone addiction (d=-1.57, 95% CI:-2.84, -0.30), depression (d=-3.73, 95% CI:-4.97, -2.48), and self-control (d=7.28, 95% CI:2.76, 11.79); but were not significantly effective in improving anxiety and reducing time of smartphone usage. The systematic review and meta-analysis suggested that smartphone addiction interventions boost the alleviation of smartphone addiction. However, it remains necessary to conduct well-designed randomized controlled trials, including the consideration of various cultural characteristics.

This paper aims to guide experts who manage dementia by exploring the various non-drug interventions and analyzing the effective intervention methods applicable according to the functional level of the elderly with dementia. Fourteen studies were analyzed in this study. Meta-analysis was performed using the means, standard deviations, and the number of samples. Subsequent meta-analysis showed that the Holnis program had the largest effect size in cognitive function, the bakery activity program in memory, and the composite intermediation program with ADL was the largest. In addition, client-centric cognitive stimulation interventions showed the most significant effect sizes, while in depression and BPSD, rhythmic movement activities had the most significant effect size. Elderly with dementia exhibit various symptoms depending on their characteristics and the progress of the disease. Therefore, more efficient arbitration could be provided if the effects of each intervention can be applied differently.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the rearing, health and nutrition services through intervention in GP-GC (grandparents-grandchildren) families. Methods: A structured questionnaire was administered in January 2008 and January 2009 to 55(70) grandparents of GP-GC families who received intervention services also GP-GC families that did not receive services. The study area was the city of Chunnam Province, South Korea. The intervention services were provided by electronic voucher one day per week. The questionnaire assessed the general characteristics of the grandparents, childcare stress and burden, health status (ADL, IADL, depression, subjective health status and fall index) and mini nutritional assessment(MNA). The data were analyzed using SPSS software and an F-test, Chi-squared test and t-test. Results: The stress of grandparents resulting from childcare was high, but depression in grandparents perceived by grandchildren was significantly lower in served GP-GC families than in non-served GP-GC families. Differences in scores of affection (t=2.12, df=116, p<.05), automatics (t=2.92, df=116, p<.01), realistic(t=2.24, df=116, p<.05), and level of depression(t=2.90, df=116, p<.01) were significant. Incidences of acute disease, IADL cognitive fuction and depression of grandparents were slightly higher. Intervention services for GP-GC families had an impact on the childcare attitude and health status of grandparents. The intervention services of nutrition for grandparents were not promoted, but the scoring for subjective nutrition status were statistically higher for the served group (t=18.230, p<.0001). Conclusions: This study found that intervention programs of childcare services and health and nutrition management are effective for grandparents of GP-GC families. Intervention services for GP-GC family should establish the political issue.
This study is a systematic review research to find out the effect of time-use intervention for the disabled in Korea. The final five documents were used for analysis through the process of selecting data using PRISMA flow-chart for domestic research documents published from January 2010 to May 2021. The effect of the time-use intervention study that applied to the disabled in Korea was generally confirmed to have a positive effect, and especially, it was found to be meaningful results in quality of life and satisfaction, self-esteem and depression, self-efficacy, occupational participation, and life satisfaction. Therefore, the results of this study are meaningful as providing clinical grounds for application, expecting that many studies on the effectiveness of time-use intervention should be conducted even in healthy people without diseases in the future.

Objective : This study sought to systematically examine the intervention effect of social stories when applied in relation to children with sleep disorders. Methods : Studies available in the SCOPUS, ScienceDirect, PsycArticles, and PubMed databases that were published from 2001 to 2022 were searched. The keywords used for the search were as follows: ("social story" OR "social stories") AND ("sleep" OR "sleep disorders" OR "sleep wake disorder bedtimes" OR "sleep initiation and maintenance disorders" OR "sleep wake disorder" OR "sleep arousal disorders"). Based on the selection criteria, six experimental studies were selected and analyzed. Results : The selected studies were two randomized controlled trials, three individual trials, and one case study. The subjects were mostly children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder who were school-aged or adolescent. The intervention types were often complex interventions, including social stories and other interventions, while the durations of the interventions varied from one day to more than 40 days. The interventions had a positive effect on the subjects' sleep quality, with night wakings, sleep onset delay, and sleep anxiety all being improved. As standardized assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of social stories, the Child Sleep Habits Questionnaire and the Child Behavior Checklist were used in two papers each, and were the most commonly used. As non-standardized assessment tools, each of the four papers used turbulence and sleep diaries as assessment tools. Conclusion : The effect of social story mediation can be divided into sleep quality and sleep-related behavior. In terms of sleep quality, studies showing improvements in night wakings, sleep onset delay, and sleep anxiety accounted for a large proportion of the sample. The detailed effect area of sleep quality showed a significant improvement after the interventions in most studies, and in all six studies analyzed in the present study, the continuation of the effect after the intervention was confirmed via follow-up tests. Thus, the findings of this study are expected to be helpful when applying social stories in children with sleep disorders in clinical practice due to presenting the intervention effects, outcome evaluation tools, and intervention periods in children with sleep disorders in prior investigations involving social stories.
Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of integrated palliative care intervention on quality of life in terminally ill patients. Methods: A comprehensive literature search was performed via PubMed, Cochrane Library CENTRAL, LWW (Ovid), CINAHL and several Korean databases. The main search strategy was to combine terms indicating palliative care intervention, presence of terminal illness and study design. Methodological quality was assessed using Cochrane's Risk of Bias for randomized studies and Risk of Bias Assessment tool for non-randomized studies. Data were analyzed by the Stata 10 program. Results: Eight clinical trials met the inclusion criteria with a total of 356 participants. Integrated palliative care interventions were administered for a mean of 6.5 weeks, 5.6 sessions and an average of 47.8 minutes per session. Effect sizes were heterogeneous, and subgroup analysis was done. Integrated palliative care interventions had a significant effect on quality of life (ES=1.83, P=0.018, $l^2=92%$), spiritual well-being (ES=0.78, P=0.040, $l^2=0$), depression (ES=0.86, P<0.001, $l^2=32$) and anxiety (ES=0.69, P=0.041, $l^2=71.1$). But integrated palliative care interventions had no significant effect on pain (ES=0.365, P=0.230, $l^2=69.8$). Conclusion: Results support findings that integrated palliative care interventions were helpful in lessening depression and anxiety and improving quality of life and spiritual well-being, however, the interventions did not assist pain management in terminal cancer patients. These findings suggest that various integrated palliative care interventions can assist terminal cancer patients with better quality of life in the socio-psycho-spiritual dimension.
The purpose of this study was to determine the trends of research on the effects of psychosocial intervention related to children with epilepsy. 454 articles were retrieved from databases (Ovid-MEDLINE, EMBASE, PubMed, CINAHL, The Cochrane library, KMbase, and Koreamed), and 7 articles met our criterias. Interventions were classified into four categories: education; counseling; cognitive-behavioral therapy; and physical activity. The target outcomes of the interventions were quite diverse. Each intervention showed some benefits for epilepsy-related health outcomes, but each study had methodological weaknesses, including incomplete information, poorly defined or validated outcome measures, small sample sizes, and design limitations.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate changes in somato-sensory and occupational performance of individually tailored sensory integration interventions for school-age children with somatodyspraxia. Methods : A single subject study with an AB design was conducted the total sessions were 11 sessions, consisting of 3 baseline sessions and 8 intervention sessions. To compare the effects before and after the intervention, the intervention was measured by dividing it into Performance Area (PA) and Performance Factor (PF), and after each intervention session, the Goal Attainment Scale (GAS) was implemented. Results : The children participating in this study showed overall improvement in PA and PF after the intervention, and after each session, it was confirmed that the GAS increased when measuring the target activities (Supine Flexion Posture; SFP, Walking by Arms; WA, Stand on Balance Ball; SBB). Conclusion : This study provided evidence that sensory integration has a positive effect on performing target activities (SFP, WA, SBB) and improving relationships with peers in children with somatodyspraxia.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to analyze the format and effects of lifestyle intervention provided to community dwelling older adults. This systematic review was written following the PRISMA guideline. Methods : The National Digital Science Library(NDSL), RISS, PubMed, and CINAHL were used to search for articles published from January 2008 to December 2017. In total, 20 articles were selected for the analysis and the risk of bias was screened through the Physiotherapy Evidence Database Scale. Lifestyle interventions in the articles were classified according to the disease of the participants. Results : Major contents of the lifestyle interventions were increased physical activity like moderately intensive exercise and education or training to help participants have a healthy diet. Of the 20 articles, 17 included more than 2 types of contents. Examining biochemical factors was the most common measurement among the multifaceted measurements used to assess the effects of lifestyle interventions. The results of the lifestyle interventions described in each article did not indicate congruent effects. 14 of the 20 articles reported the lifestyle interventions had significant effects. Conclusions : The results of this study could help practitioners select the contents of and provide lifestyle interventions to older adults. Further study on the various applications of lifestyle interventions in a community setting is necessary.
