  • This study is designed to examine the effects of transformational and transactional leadership on organizational commitment. A survey questionnaire is used to gather the data while judgement sampling was utilized to choose the respondents. The results from the study indicate that transformational leadership is found to positively affect emotional and normative commitment respectively. Using multiple regression, it is also found continuance commitment is not related to transformational and transactional leadership. The study partially supports the model that perceived leadership affects organizational commitment. It is proposed that transactional leadership appears to be a more useful predictor of organizational commitment. Given the findings of this study, firms are provided with insights into how transformational and transactional leadership may contribute to managing workers' organizational commitment.

  • This study suggests internal and external virtuous behavior in organization influenced employees' organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), organizational loyalty and emotional exhaustion through mediated effect of affective commitment and collective self-esteem. Virtue in organization has received attention as critical attribute of positive organizational scholarship. Cameron(2003) defined the study of virtue as a study of the capacity, attributes, and reserve in organization that facilitates the expression of positive deviance among organization member. Accordingly, this study presumed that virtuous behaviors within organization positively associate with OCB, and organizational loyalty through affective commitment whereas the virtuous behaviors negatively influence emotional exhaustion. On the other hand, we assumed that external virtuous behaviors positively associate with OCB and organizational loyalty and negatively associate with emotional exhaustion individually. In study 1, we conducted interview with Korean employees created items for internal and external virtue, and implemented empirical study for 253 employees of domestic companies in study 2. This study contributes to the empirical investigation on how internal virtue (i.e. the employees' virtue for their organization) and external virtue (i.e. the organization's virtue for society), used as independent variables, influence employees' organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), organizational loyalty and emotional exhaustion after creating items for the two virtuous behaviors through qualitative research.

  • As job rotation provides various job experiences and opportunities to develop potential abilities to employees, it is considered as a strategy for key human resources management to improve individual and organization's competitiveness. Therefore, to practically verify how employees at public companies having perception of job rotation influences on organization effectiveness, based on document research, we examined the viewpoints of perception on job rotation(operating procedure, individual development, career management) and viewpoints of organization effectiveness(job satisfaction, organizational commitment, organizational loyalty) and empirically analyzed organizational relationships. As a result, First, as the perception of job rotation, the operational procedures have a positive effect on job satisfaction, and the operational procedures and career management have a positive effect on organizational commitment. Second, job satisfaction has a positive effect on organizational commitment. Third, job satisfaction and organizational commitment have a positive effect on organizational loyalty. From this research, importance of perception on job rotation is verified in order to improve public companies' organizational effectiveness. This research has a purpose to suggest practical implication to improve the competitiveness of individual and organization at public companies.

The result is following ; First, Perceived Organizational Support has significant effects of Organizational Commitment and Psychological Empowerment. Second, Organizational Commitment and Psychological Empowerment have shown significant implications for Organized Citizenship Behavior. In addition, Organizational Commitment and Psychological Empowerment have been shown to be partial mediation effect between Perceived Organizational Support and Organized Citizenship Behavior. These findings reveal the specific process of Organized Citizenship Behavior. It is expected to contribute to various measures that can cause to the extra-role behavior of the organizational member's.

  • This study set up research models and hypothesis in order to analyze those factors assuming that swift trust affects group cohesiveness, group cohesiveness affects organizational civil activities and organizational effectiveness (job satisfaction and organizational commitment) and at the same time plays as a medium for the swift trust, organizational civil activities and organizational effectiveness. Based upon these finding, variables in the ship unit are analyzed through surveys. This shows that the swift trust has statistically a meaningful and beneficial impact on group cohesiveness which has statistically a meaningful and beneficial impact on organizational civil activities and organization effectiveness. In terms of effects of crew members' the swift trust on organizational civil activities, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction, group cohesiveness has a partial medicated effect.. This paper has its significance in practically proving that the established swift trust of crew members increase group cohesiveness, the heightened group cohesiveness results in the changes of behaviors and attitudes of crew members in the seagoing vessel.
