The Influence of Nursing Image, Job Value on Nursing Professionalism of First Year Nursing Students (간호학과 신입생의 간호사이미지, 직업가치관이 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the influence of nurse image, job value on the nursing professionalism of first year nursing students. Data were collected from May 7 to May 14, 2018 for 306 first year nursing students. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0. The average degree of nursing image at 4.12, job value score of 3.12, and nursing professionalism score of 3.98. Nursing professionalism was positively correlated with the nursing image(r=.823, p<.001) and job value(r=.492, p<.001). The significant variables explaining nursing image(${\beta}=.760$, p=.000) and job value(${\beta}=.134$, p=.000) These factors explained 69% of nursing professionalism. It is necessary to provide education that consider the nursing image, job value of nursing students to help them establish an acceptable view of nursing professionalism.

The Effect of Covert Narcissism of Nursing Students on Nursing Professionalism : Mediating effect of Perceived Social Support and Interpersonal Competence (간호대학생의 내현적 자기애가 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향 : 지각된 사회적 지지와 대인관계능력의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of perceived social support and interpersonal competence on the effects of covert narcissism on nursing professionalism of nursing students. For this purpose, 375 nursing students from three colleges in J province were sampled for convenience. The result of this study were as follows: First, the fix indexed of causal model among covert narcissism, nursing professionalism, perceived social support and interpersonal competence were identified suitably. Second, covert narcissism of nursing students directly affected interpersonal competence and perceived social support, which was statistically significant. Third, interpersonal competence showed mediating effects in relationship between covert narcissism and nursing professionalism. Fourth, the interpersonal competence of nursing students directly affected perceived social support and nursing professionalism. Based on the results of the research, it is necessary to develop an intervention program that can enhance interpersonal competence in order to strengthen nursing professionalism of nursing students.

Influence of Consciousness of Biomedical Ethics on Nursing Professionalism of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 생명의료윤리의식이 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of Consciousness of biomedical ethics on nursing professionalism among nursing students. Data were collected among 192 nursing students in G city, from May 20 to 27, 2021. The collected data was analyzed a using t-test, One way ANOVA, Pearson's correation coeffcient and Stepwise multiple regression using SPSS 20.0 WIN program. The average score for Consciousness of biomedical ethics was 3.28±0.41 and nursing professionalism was 3.32±0.85. nursing professionalism showed a positve correlation(r=.55, p=.000) with Consciousness of biomedical ethics, Models including the variables, Organ transplant, Euthanasia, explained 37%, 16.5% of the variance in the nursing professionalism. Based on the outcome of this study, steps should be taken to design intervention program that emphasize a improve nursing professionalism for nursing students.

Influence of Standard Precaution Knowledge, Performance on Nursing Professionalism in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 표준주의 지식과 수행도가 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was attempted to identify knowledge, performance of standard precautions, and nursing professionalism and to investigate the influence on nursing professionalism in nursing students experienced clinical practice. Methods: The subjects are 205 nursing students in six university nursing departments in two regions. The data were collected from September 7th to September 17th, 2021 using the online survey. Results: The total score for knowledge of standard precautions was 24.69. The average for performance of standard precautions was 3.70 on a scale of 4 and nursing professionalism was an average of 4.12 on a scale of 5. Factors affecting nursing professionalism included gender(β=-.21, p=.002), knowledge of standard precautions(β=.13, p=.044), and performance of standard precautions(β=.27, p=<.001). The explanatory power of the model was 13.1%. Conclusions: Results of this study suggest that it is necessary to develop and apply an clinical educational program that can promote knowledge and performance of standard precautions to enhance the positive nursing professionalism of nursing students.

  • This study is a descriptive survey research conducted to confirm the effects of growth mindset and emotional labor of clinical practice on nursing professionalism in nursing students. The subjects are 3rd and 4th grade students who are attending two university nursing departments in city G, and data were collected from July to September 2021. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis and controlled regression analysis. The research results are as follows. Growth mindset(β=.325, p<.001) had a positive effect on nursing professionalism. Emotional labor of clinical practice(β=-.099, p=.161) had not statistically a significant effect on nursing professionalism. The study model accounted for 25.4% of nursing professionalism. It suggests that strategies are needed to enhance the growth mindset in order to promote nursing professionalism in nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study is a descriptive research study to understand to investigate the convergence effects of nursing students clinical performance ability, clinical practice satisfaction, and emotional intelligence on nursing professionalism. From November 10 to November 20, 2021, 132 fourth-year nursing students 132 students in 4th year nursing department were surveyed using a convenience sampling. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA, Scheff'e test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS Statistics 25.0. As a result of the study, factors affecting nursing professionalism were emotional intelligence(β=.46, p<.001), clinical performance (β=.18, p=.033), and clinical practice satisfaction(β=.18, p=.027) and the explanatory power of nursing professionals was 52%. Therefore, it is expected that it will be used as basic data for a program that can improve professional nursing values of nursing students through factors affecting professional nursing values.

The Relationship between Better Life Index, Nursing Performance and Intents to Leave among Hospital Nurses (병원간호사의 행복지수, 전문직관, 이직의도와의 관계)

  • This study is to recognize the relationship between better life index, nursing performance and intents to leave among hospital nurses by comparison. From July 1to July 20, 2012. we collected survey results subjecting on total 700 nurses by random sampling of hospital-class medical institutes over 200 beds located on Busan & Gyeongnam, and analyzed final 677 copies. We recognized the degrees and the differences of happiness index, professionalism, intents to leave among hospital nerses and analyzed the factors impacting on intents to leave among hospital nerses through correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis between variables. The main result is as follows: First, the average of the item related to happiness index of nurse was 3.03 (5 points of scale) and the average score of professionalism was 3.09 (medium degree) but the average score of turnover intention was 3.35 (relatively high); Second, professionalism and turnover intention according to characteristics of subjects were significant statistically (p<0.05) and turnover intention indicated a significant negative relation with happiness index and professionalism; Third, a factor which mostly impact on turnover intention indicated a significant level (p<0.05) in professionalism, happiness index, general hospital, 2.01 to 2.5 million of average pay. Based on such results, as happiness index and professionalism are indicated as major factors to turnover intention, multi-dimensional viewpoint of follow-up study including further variables is required and the plan to apply nursing intervention program for reducing turnover intention is also required.

Moderating and Mediating Effects of Nursing Professionalism between Major Satisfaction and College life Adaptation among Nursing Students (간호대학생의 전공만족도와 대학생활 적응의 관계에서 간호전문직관의 조절 및 매개효과)

  • This study investigated the relationships among major satisfaction, nursing professionalism, and college life adaptation of the nursing students in order to present basic data to assist in adaption of college life. The study subjects were 553 nursing students from two universities in K and P cities by self-report questionnaire survey. Data were collected between November 7 and November 25, 2016. The data were analyzed through frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression using SPSS 21.0 program. As a result, major satisfaction, nursing professionalism, and college life adaptation averaged 3.86(out of 5), 3.97(5), and 3.34(5) respectively. There was a significant positive correlation between major satisfaction and nursing professionalism, college life adaptation on nursing students. In addition, nursing professionalism had moderating(F=8.460, p=.004) and partial mediating (${\beta}=.21$, p<.001) effects between major satisfaction and college life adaptation among nursing students. In conclusion, nursing professionalism is a very important factor in the effects of major satisfaction of nursing students on college life adaptation. Therefore, in order to promote college life adaptation of nursing students, and increase their major satisfaction, it is necessary to develop and apply an educational program that can establish the right nursing professionalism.

Influence of Satisfaction with Clinical practice and Image of nurses on Nursing professionalism of Nursing students (간호대학생의 임상실습만족도와 간호사 이미지가 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the influence of satisfaction with clinical practice and the image of nurses on the nursing professionalism of nursing students. The subjects were 184 nursing students in B city who had experienced clinical practice. The data were collected from November 15 to December 15, 2014 and, analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, Scheff's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression. Significant differences in the nursing professionalism by gender, religion, age, and school record were observed. Nursing professionalism was positively related to the satisfaction with clinical practice. In addition, there was a positive correlation between the nursing professionalism and image of nurses. Meaningful variables that influenced the nursing professionalism were satisfaction with the contents of clinical practice, image of nurses, satisfaction with the course of clinical practice, satisfaction with the environment of clinical practice, and school record. These factors comprised 75.8% of the total variance in the nursing professionalism of nursing students, and the satisfaction with contents of clinical practice was the most influential factor. In conclusion, to increase the nursing professionalism of nursing students, it is necessary to develop educational programs and institutional strategies to improve the satisfaction with clinical practice and the image of nurses.

The Effects of Nursing Students' Major Satisfaction, Nurse Image, Clinical Practice Education Environment, and Clinical Practice Belonging on Nursing Professional Intuition

  • This study attempted to find out the factors influencing the formation of nursing professionalism in nursing students. As for the research method, a structured self-report questionnaire was surveyed for 3rd year nursing students (n=169) at K University, and the collected data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program. The results of the study showed that major satisfaction, nurse image, clinical practice education environment, and clinical practice belonging showed a statistically significant positive correlation with nursing professional intuition, and major satisfaction had the greatest effect on nursing professionalism. Therefore, in order to form a positive nursing professional intuition, it is required to develop and apply various and systematic educational programs to increase major satisfaction.
