  • This study was conducted to explore self-directed learning, learning flow, academic self-efficacy and academic achievement on nursing students and to investigate the major factors that influence academic achievement. Data were collected from October 15 to 19, 2021, data were analyzed utilizing the SPSS WIN 21.0 program. Participants in this study were 145 students of the college in J city. As a result of the study, self-directed learning was 3.67±0.65 points out of 5, learning flow was 3.35±0.76 points out of 5, academic self-efficacy was 3.43±0.94 points out of 5, and academic achievement was 3.85±1.13 points out of 5. The relationships between self-directed learning, learning flow, academic self-efficacy and academic achievement showed significant positive correlations. As a result of multiple regression analysis, factors influencing the academic achievements of nursing students were found to be learning flow and academic self-efficacy. Therefore, in order to increase academic achievement in nursing college students, it is necessary to develop educational programs to increase the academic self-efficacy, and to continuously check the effect.

  • School education is changed to the learner-centered on 21th century knowledge base information-oriented society. The construction of infrastructure for smart education in the field of education has enabled various educational approaches using this and self-directed learning depending on the levels of learners. Thus, this study created the contents by applying ePUB format based-authoring tools for e-books to subject learning and analyzed the effect on the development of self-directed learning ability of learners. It was confirmed that the experimental group improved the self-directed learning ability better than the control group through e-book making activities from learning results on social studies and history curriculum of fifth graders. The result of this study showed a high level of satisfaction in all the subgroups of self-directed learning ability such as intrinsic motivation, openness to learning opportunities and autonomy.

  • Previous studies on educational programming language reported that programming education can help students develop their abilities in cognitive, logical and reflecting thinking for problem solving. In this study, we examined the effects of Scratch programming language education on self-directed learning ability through six-grade elementary school students. The study results are that the treatment group shows more improvement with statistical significance on the subscales of self-directed learning such as openness, internal motivation, and autonomy, than the control group. These effects are especially larger with the students with high ICT literacy, whose degree is higher than that as a result of using digital textbook, UCC, and cyber home education reported in previous studies.

  • The purpose of this study is to testify construct validity of Self-directed Learning Perception Inventory for middle school students(Lee, 2008). For the purpose, First, test was done with 1202 middle students sampled from nationwide. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation model, we confirmed 7 factor model was generally appropriate and acceptable. Second, in order to test criterion-related validity, test was done with 530 middle school students sampled form Seoul, Gyeonggido, Chungchongdo. The inventory has criterion-related validity enough to be a tool for measurement. Reliability of this inventory was .94 and retest reliability was .91. The limitation of this and suggestion for future research were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of blended learning approach on academic achievement and self directed learning skills of nursing undergraduate students. This experimental study is designed for a nonequivalent control group. The number of subjects in this research consists of 145, where 75 of the experimental group participated in blended learning program and 70 of the control group didn't do. The data was analyzed by $x^2$-test, Fisher's exact test, t-test and paired t-test. The effects of blended learning approach on learning outcomes in women's health nursing are as follows : The academic achievement of the experimental group has been more elevated than that of the control group on final examination. The experimental group has made increase in self directed learning skills. The blended learning approach on learning outcomes in nursing major are effective. This study has significant implication in that it identified the availability of the blended learning program and that it would be a useful teaching and learning method to achieve learning outcomes.

  • Contemporary Christian educators emphasize that the student has to become not a passive beneficiaries of knowledge, but an active subject for self-directed learner to pursue a Bible training. In addition, learning environments need to be converted into a learning place in which students can learn the principles of the Word, taste its meaning, and apply them into the scene in their lives. This study is to investigate new possibilities of self-directed volunteer camp, developing it as an alternative program for summer retreat and evaluating its effectiveness. According to qualitative research findings. self-directed volunteer camp provide for the youth students to develop their leadership as well as their faith. Especially, the higher effect of self-directed volunteer camp was found on program satisfaction, promoting cooperation through real problem-solving, and internalizing of the faith. Therefore, self-directed volunteer camp for vacation Bible church programs can be expected as an alternative teaching method for church education in the 21st century.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of human patient simulator(HPS)-based education on self-directed learning(SDL) and collective efficacy(CE) for nursing students. This study design was one group pre-posttest. The subjects were 2nd grade 92 students enrolling in the integrated practice. They have no previous experience of HPS-based education. HPS-based education included team based learning, skill training, taking a high-fidelity simulation with Medical Education Technologies, Inc (METI) simulator and being debriefed during 12 weeks. The pretest and posttest were conducted to understand the improvement in SDL and CE. After the subjects had participated in the HPS-based education, they showed statistically significant higher SDL(t=4.24, p=0.000) than before. However, there was no significant change in CE. Based on the results, this study suggests that SDL for nursing students were significantly improved by HPS-base education.

  • The Purpose of this study is to investigate how the different types of reading method of contrary concept : between "oral reading" and "silent reading", between "intensive reading" and "extensive reading", between "thorough reading", "selective reading", influence on the tendency of the creative ability and the self-directed learning ability. This study was collected using 2 classes of 6th-grade 62 children of an elementary school. The influences according to reading methods on creative ability and the self-directed teaming ability analysis were as follows : "Oral reading" more than "silent reading", "intensive reading" more than "extensive reading" had a significant influence on the creative ability and the self-directed learning ability. Out of reading methods, "selective reading" and "thorough reading" had no significant influence, or had negative factors on the creative ability and the self-directed learning ability.

  • Recently, the importance of self-directed learning has emerged in the fields of public education, private education, lifelong education, and vocational training education, in which learners can actively cope with knowledge in an infusion-oriented way. However, there are various theoretical knowledge such as concepts and strategies for self-directed learning, but the situation is insufficient for a system where learners can easily receive content in the academic field they want, depending on the actual self-directed learning operation plan or learning area. Therefore, since it is important to provide various learning content in this paper, we utilize text mining techniques to obtain appropriate information and refine and categorize the meaning. On-line, they want to study a system that provides a variety of content in the academic field that learners are trying to acquire.
