A Study on the Performance Analysis of the DOCSIS 1.1 Protocol for Digital CATV Broadcasting (디지털 유선방송을 위한 DOCSIS 1.1 프로토콜의 성능분석에 관한 연구)

  • The Data Over Cable System Interface Specification (DOCSIS) protocol enables the delivery of Internet Protocol(IP) traffic over Cable TV networks with significantly higher data rates. In this paper, we assessed the performance of the DOCSIS protocol using the OPNET. The simulation can be used to predict the upstream system throughput, mean access delay and channel utilization on varying packet size and transmission stream and wid/without concatenation, and it has shown that maximum system throughput is 4.6 Mbps for channel capacity of 5.12 Mbps and packet size of 1500 bytes. The mean access delay varies depending on the offered load, and it is assumed that the offered load does not exceed the capacity of the channel. Excess offered load causes service starvation according to the assigned priority.

  • People who use SNS publish their diverse ideas on SNS every day. The data posted on the SNS contains many people's thoughts and opinions. In particular, popular keywords served on Twitter compile the number of frequently appearing words in user posts and rank them. However, this method is sensitive to unnecessary data simply by listing duplicate words. The proposed method determines the ranking based on the topic of the word using the relationship diagram between words, so that the influence of unnecessary data is less and the main word can be stably extracted. For the performance comparison in terms of the descending keyword rank and the ratios of meaningless keywords among high rank 20 keywords, we make a comparison between the proposed scheme which is based on morphological analysis and PageRank, and the existing scheme which is based on the number of appearances. As a result, the proposed scheme and the existing scheme have included 55% and 70% of meaningless keywords among high rank 20 keywords, respectively, where the proposed scheme is improved about 15% compared with the existing scheme.

  • 휴대용멀티미디어플레이어(이하 PMP)는 2004년 국내에 등장하여 음악과 더불어 영화 및 동영상을 볼 수 있도록 해주고 있는 인기 있는 개인용 전자기기이다. 그러나 수요가 둔화되고, 업체들의 경쟁이 치열해지면서 새로운 기능, 새로운 서비스에 대한 개발이 대두되고 있다. 최근에는 네비게이션 서비스, 학습서비스가 시행되면서 다시 수요가 살아나는 추세이다. 이에 따라 현재 존속하는 서비스에 대한 평가 및 새로운 서비스에 대한 검증이 요망되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소비자 니즈 조사를 분석함으로써 현재 이용되고 있는 서비스들의 상황을 분석하고, 신규 서비스에 대한 수요 가치를 분석하였다. 분석 대상이 된 기존 상용 서비스는 게임, DMB, 영화, 음악, 네비게이션, 전자사전, 전자책, 이러닝, 만화, 무선인터넷였고, 신규 서비스는 u-Commerce, u-Health, u-Security, u-Public였다. 본 연구결과 PMP 응용 수요선호도 순위는 영화, TV, 음악 순이었으며, 신규서비스 u-Commerce, u-Health, u-Security, u-Public 옵션들에 대한 구매의향 평균가는 68,102원으로 나타났다.

  • 가정용 흑은 업소용 노래 반주 시스템에서 곡명을 선택하는 데에는 목록 책자를 찾거나 키보드를 이용하여 DB를 검색하는 방법이 일반적이다. 이 방법들은 책을 찾거나 키보드로 입력하는 불편함과 함께 곡명의 첫 글자부터 알고 있지 않으면 찾을 수 없는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 음성인식기술과 정보검색기술을 결합하여 이러한 문제점들을 동시에 보완하는 기술을 제안하고, 가정용 노래방 기기와 연동하여 기존 검색 방식을 대체하는 음성인식 노래반주시스템을 구성한다. 제안하는 시스템은 노래 곡명에 나오는 최다 빈도 단어를 이용하여 키보드 입력 없이 음성 인식으로 간단하게 원하는 곡명을 찾도록 한다. 또한, 인터넷 인기순위에 기반하여 곡명을 색인함으로써 검색 만족도를 향상시킨다.

Format-Export of Korean TV Entertainment Program and Its Effect on the Spread of Hallyu in China (중국 내 한국 예능 프로그램의 포맷수출과 한류 확산)

  • This study reviews the so-called 'format-export' of Korean TV entertainment programs to China, and ahalyze its effect on the spread of Hallyu in China. Format export has developed as an alternative for the export of Korean TV programs when the Chinese government restrict the broadcasting of foreign TV programs. In so doing, the study conducted surveys about the format-exported programs in Shanghai and Zhengzhou with the sample of 381 university students. The survey shows that the popularity of entertainment programs is so high as to compete with the popularity of K-pop. Respondents in Zhengzhou tend to watch format-exported programs first and then try to watch original Korean programs, while respondents in Shanghai are more likely to watch original Korean programs. This results suggest that format-export can help the spread of Hallyu in the inland local cities in China.

Comparison of Online Shopping Mall BEST 100 using Exploratory Data Analysis (탐색적 자료 분석(EDA) 기법을 활용한 국내 11개 대표 온라인 쇼핑몰 BEST 100 비교)

  • Since the beginning of the first online shopping mall, BEST 100 is being provided as the core of all shopping mall websites. BEST 100 is greatly important because consumers can identify popular products at a glance. However, there are only studies using sales outcome indicators, and prior studies using BEST 100 are insignificant. Therefore, this study selected 11 online shopping malls and compared their main characteristics. As a research method, exploratory data analysis technique (EDA) was used by crawling the BEST 100 components of each shopping mall website, such as product name, price, and free shipping check. As a result, the total average price of 11 shopping malls was 72,891.41 won. Sales texts were classified into 8 categories by text mining. The most common category was the fashion part, but it is significant that the setting of the category analyzed the marketing text, not the product attribute. This study has implications for understanding the current online market flow and suggesting future directions by using EDA.

Interchange Algorithm for VoD System (VOD 시스템에서의 Interchange Agent 운영 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a approach to configure efficient video-on-demand system by introducing Multicast and Cache Video-on-Demand (MCVoD) system. As a key element or the MCVoD system, interchange agent provides this system with multicasting and switching functions. With the multicasting, the MCVoD system is able to reduce the load on the network as well as VoD servers by transmitting only one video request instead of sending multiple requests on a same video stream. The switching enables clients to receive the lust stream of requested video streams instantly without waiting time and also allows avoiding undesirable duplication of video streams in the system. With various experiment results through simulation about waiting tine and cache hit ratio, we show that the MCVoD system employing the interchange agent provides better performance than current uni-proxy based system.

Research on toy design based on children's education and experience (교육 및 체험 기반으로 한 어린이 장난감 디자인에 관한 연구)

  • Based on the theory of interactive experience in children's toy design, this paper analyzes and explores the interactive experience of education children's toys. Based on the basic elements of product design, a case study of the popular children's educational toys in the Korean sales rankings was carried out. In addition, according to the user experience model, a questionnaire survey was conducted on the popular children's educational toys sold in Korea. The results show that the top three children's educational toys by sales are smart toys. Satisfaction is highest for feeling, feeling, thinking, acting, and related experiences. It provides a theoretical basis for the interactive experience design of children's smart toys. Design experiential toys that are more suitable for children's physical and mental health and more suitable for children's psychological development.

  • Most Web search engines use ranking methods that take both the relevancy and the importance of documents into consideration. The importance of a document denotes the degree of usefulness of the document to general users. One of the most successful methods for estimating the importance of a document has been Page-Rank algorithm which uses the hyperlink structure of the Web for the estimation. In this paper, we propose a new importance estimation algorithm for the blog environment. The proposed method, first, calculates the importance of each document using user's bookmark and click count. Then, the Guru point of a blogger is computed as the sum of all importance points of documents which he/she wrote. Finally, the guru points are reflected in document ranking again. Our experiments show that the proposed method has higher correlation coefficient than the traditional methods with respect to correct answers.

  • This study conducted a narrative analysis on the audition program, season2 which was the most popular in Korean in 2016, focusing on the competition and training participators. Results indicated that the narrative structure of the program had three factors; 1) the competition, 2) training, and 3) audience participation. And, season2 was a talent program employing the process of survival and elimination to develop an idol group with audience participations.
