Sensitivity Analysis on Hybrid Element Model for Harbor Oscillation (항만 공진에 대한 복합요소 수치모형의 민감도 분석)

  • In the present study, for fully-open rectangular harbors, sensitivity analyses are made for the major parameters which are relevant to the practical application of a hybrid element model widely used fur the analysis of harbor oscillation. The results show that it is desirable to extend the finite element region to the area in which depth change is not large and that it is appropriate to take the depth of the outer region for analytic solution as the average along the boundary between the two regions. It is expected that the number of Fourier components of the analytic solution may not be important for a constant-depth simple-shaped harbor but its significance may increase for harbors of varying depth and complex geometry. It is found that the effect of incident wave direction is not significant for the first resonance mode but its effect becomes important as the bottom slope increases, especially for the higher resonance modes.

  • Near Earth Object Patrol Team (National Research Lab.) at KAO and YSTAR team at Yonsei University Observatory jointly developed a dome enclosure to be installed abroad together with a survey telescope. It has a fully-open clam shell type design to maximize the fast slew capability of the telescope and is also sturdy enough to protect the observation system under extreme weather conditions. We also developed an electric control circuit for the enclosure so that it can become a part of automated observing system. The enclosure has been installed at the Sutherland Observatory of South African Astronomical Observatory in April 2002, and has been successfully operational.

  • In the process of building the future of smart cities, innovation in mobility and road infrastructure is one of the most important topics. In particular, with the proliferation of autonomous vehicles and various types of mobility on the road, such as electric bicycles, electric kickboards, and electric wheels, roads have a variety of actors to accommodate, including traditional cars and pedestrians, and conflicts between them need to be resolved. Complete streets, a term coined in the United States in 2003, refers to the design and operation of roads that consider the equitable safety and convenience of all road users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, public transportation users, personal mobility (PM) users, and automobile drivers. Currently, many cities overseas are implementing complete streets, and research is being actively conducted to institutionalize them. However, there is a lack of research and discussion on complete streets in Korea. Therefore, this study aims to formalize the main factors to be considered in the design of complete streets by collecting and analyzing the opinions of academic and practitioner experts through the Delphi method. A total of three Delphi surveys were conducted, collecting free responses from experts through the first open-ended survey and organizing them into keywords to create the second and third closed-ended surveys. The second and third rounds of the survey consisted of a total of 52 questions, and 34 items out of 52 were selected as the final factors.

A Study on Spatial Structure Changes of General Merchandise Retail in Daejeon Metropolitan City (대전광역시 종합소매업의 공간구조 변화에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study are to describe the changes of retail environment and general merchandise retail structure in Daejeon Metropolitan City since e distribution market open. At the interval of five years (1996~2001) the rapid increase of large-scale discount stores have had a profound impacts on the retail structure and the spatial retail structure. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the proportion of general merchandise retail has increased in the retail structure. Second, each business type of general merchandise retail has taken different growth pattern, which has been distributed differently. Third, the establishment of general merchandise retail is on the decrease, the annual sale of general merchandise retail is one increase. Moreover the hightest sale region is changed from old-town to new-town. Many more variables like assortment of goods according to the locality should be reflected in the following spatial retail structure research.

Physical and Sedimentological Changes in the Keum Estuary after the Gate-Close of Keum River Weir (하구언 갑문폐쇄 후 금강하구의 물리, 퇴적학적 특성변화)

  • A comparative study to understand the changes in physical and sedimentological natures was carried out in the Keum Estuary before and after the gate-close of Keum River weir. After closing of weir-gate maximum tidal current speed decreased about 30∼40% compared with that of the previous gate-opening period. Water masses also represent vertical stratifications both on water salinity and water transparency. The Keum Estuary seems to be changed from the well-mixed type estuary during the gate-opening period to the "partially-mixed type" and/or "salt-wedge type" estuary after the closing of weir-gate. The concentrations of suspended matter range 10∼100 mg/l in surface waters after the gate-close of Keum River Weir, representing about 1/4 to 1/3 decrease than those during the gate-close of Keum River Weir, representing about 1/4 to 1/3 decrease than those during the gate0opening period. Such decrease of suspended mater appears to be due to the decrease in the resuspension of bottom sediments, and also due to the vertical stratification of water masses that prevented the upward diffusion of turbid bottom waters. It is, therefore, expected that the depositional environment of Keum Estuary has been changing into the low energy conditions after the closing of weir gate, resulting in the rapid deposition of fine suspended matters within the Keum Estuary.

The Development of Continuous Flow Method Through Microwave Oven for the Analysis of Metal Oxides in Water by ICP-AES (ICP-AES에 의한 수중의 금속 산화물 직접분석을 위한 연속흐름 Microwave 용해장치 개발 연구)

  • The method described offers rapid and efficient sample preparation using on-line microwave digestion of metal oxides in water sample with direct elemental detection by ICP-AES. The open tubing digestion system(OTD) and the restraint tubing digestion system(RTD) for flow injection(FI) were designed and tested to find the optimum conditions. Comparison of OTD and RTD indicated that RTD was 3 times faster on the digestion time, and 10 times higher on sample mass. Finally, the results of RTD agree well with those by conventional microwave open vessel in all cases and show good precision; Fe and Cu show good with about 5% of RSD, while Zn and Co more or less than 10% RSD.

The Effects of Individuals' Perception toward Extramarital Affair on the Openness to Extramarital Sex : Focusing on Double Mediating Effects of the Acceptance toward Extramarital Relationship and Unacceptance of Spouse's Extramarital Relationship and Moderation Effect of Marital Status (불륜에 대한 인식이 혼외성관계 개방성에 미치는 영향 : 본인외도 용인과 배우자외도 불용인의 이중매개효과와 결혼상태의 조절효과분석을 중심으로)

  • This study is an empirical research based on data analysis obtained by surveying 655 adult men and women. The notable findings are as follow: First, overall, individuals' perception of extramarital affair is negative, but about 16.4% respondents have a positive perception of it. Second, the respondents have a more critical perception of their spouse's extramarital affairs compared to their own. Thirdly, the less critical perception of extramarital affair, the more acceptance of my extramarital relationship, the less tolerance of my spouse's extramarital relationship regardless marital status. Forth, while the less tolerance of spouse's extramarital relationship, the less openness to extramarital sex among unmarried group, the more acceptance of my own extramarital relationship, the more openness to extramarital sex among married group. Lastly, individuals' perception of extramarital relationship does not directly affect the openness to extramarital sex only among unmarried group, however, the correlation between the perception of extramarital affairs and the openness to extramarital sex is fully mediated by the effect of unacceptance of spouse's extramarital affairs. The moderating effect of marital status is proved.

A Study on the Effects of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises CEO's Extroversion and Openness on Corporate Innovation Performance: Mediating effect of Innovation Behavior (중소기업 CEO의 외향성과 개방성이 기업혁신성과에 미치는 영향: 혁신행동의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the personal characteristics of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises(SMEs) CEOs, on innovation behavior and corporate innovation performance, and to verify the mediating role of innovation behavior. To verify the hypothesis of this study, a questionnaire was conducted on 264 CEOs and 563 top managements of SMEs in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. For the analysis of the investigated data, the research model and hypothesis were verified through correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and SEM using SPSS and AMOS. The analysis results are as follows. First, it was found that extroversion, the personal characteristics of SMEs CEOs, had a positive (+) effect on innovation behavior, and second, openness to experience, the personal characteristics, also had a positive (+) effect on innovation behavior. Third, it was analyzed that the influence of innovation behavior on the innovation performance of a company had a positive (+) effect. Fourth, it was found that innovation behavior had full mediation effects in the relationship between extroversion and corporate innovation performance, but the case of openness to experience was not significant. Finally, the significance, implications, and limitations of the study were described, and suggestions for further study were presented.

  • 멀티프로세서 시스템을 설계할 경우에는 공유메모리 구조와 메시지 전달방법의 두 가지의 패러다임을 바탕으로 하게 된다. 데이터 분할과 동적 부하 분산 문제를 단순화시틸 수 있으며 확장성을 용이하게 지원하는 장점을 가지고 있는 공유메모리 구조의 멀티프로세서 시스템에서 각 프로세서가 자신의 전용 캐시를 가지는 경우에는 메인 메모리와 이러한 전용 캐시내에 존재하는 데이터사본간에 일관성 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 일관성 유지를 위해 제안되어 있는 여러 알고리즘 중 처리 노드와 고대역 저지연 인터커넥션 네트워크로 구성되는 공유메모리 구조의 멀티프로세서 프로토타입인 DASH 프로토콜을 지원하기 위한 전용 버스 시스템을 완전 개방형인 IEEE Futurebus+ 스탠다드에 준비하여 설계한 다음, 이 시스템이 DASH 프로토콜을 지원하려 캐시의 일관성을 유지하기 위해 필요한 각종 행동과 기존의 범용 버스 시스템이 수행하는 행동의 병렬 처리를 지원할 수 있음을 시뮬레이션으로 증명한다.

  • 원유 또는 가스 생산을 위해 해상에 설치되는 플랜트 해양설비는 크게 jacket과 module로 나눌 수 있다. Jacket은 module을 지지하기 위한 구조물로써 jacket 본체와 pile로 구성되어 있으며, 미국용접학회(AWS)의 규정에 의해 대부분의 맞대기 완전용접 이음부(full penetration butt welds)에 대해 100% 방사선투과검사를 실시하게 되어 있다. 그러나 지금까지 방사선투과검사를 실시해 온 경험으로 미루어 볼 때 방사성에 대한 안전성, 생산공정의 영향(검사지연) 등 방사선투과검사는 많은 문제점을 가지고 있었다. 이에 대한 문제점을 해소하고, 국내의 비파괴검사 기술 향상을 위해 자동 초음파탐상 system을 개발, 방사선투과검사를 자동 초음파탐상검사로 대체하여 적용한 사례를 간략하게 기술하였다. 또한, 적용 확대를 위해 개방중인 system을 소개하고 아울러 자동 초음파탐상기술에 대한 앞으로의 방향을 제시하였다.
