  • Web-based learning receives much attention as an effective learning method because users can use the learning service at any time from any space. A learning management system(LMS) provides online educational environment among teachers and students, supporting various facilities to deliver educational contents. Since most of the existing LMSs support one-way or limited two-way teaching services among teachers and students, there are a lot of difficulties in performing collaboration among students and/or collaboration among teachers and students. In this paper, we describe the development of collaborative workspaces which provides effective collaborative educational environment on Moodle which is widely accepted as a typical LMS. Through the provided various types of collaborative workspaces, users can easily perform group activities, sharing educational with appropriate access control mechanism.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the currently operating subject guides in academic libraries and to suggest measures for improvements of them. To do this, 22 out of 151 academic libraries which have more than 1,000 enrolled college students in the university and two institutes of science and technology were selected and the libraries were analyzed according to 12 criteria. The main results of the data analysis were as follows: First, the subject guides did not clearly indicate which service tool to use. Second, there was a difference in the subject guide format in the same academic library. Third, libraries tried to provide a lot of information sources on the subject guides without considering users' needs. By offering many kinds of information sources, students had to choose the information sources they needed. Improvement plans are: First, it is necessary to develop the subject guide of the college courses. Second, Content-based subject guides are necessary through standardized format. Third, it is necessary to unify the name of menu of information resource. Fourth, the number of information sources included in the subject guides should be minimized. Fifth, it is necessary to establish a cooperation system between academic libraries to develop the subject guides.

  • The study is aimed at designing an effective edutech platform based on online remote classes, and clarifying the effect of empathy competence of youths through the operation linked with the empathic reading program focusing on reading. To this end, after constructing the environment for education and drawing a class model based on components of edutech for remote classes on the basis of previous studies and elaborating the empathic reading education program, this study has been conducted for one semester for 107 students in 4 classes in their 1st grade at S middle school, Gyeonggi-do in order to apply them to fields. As a result of the study, the empathy reading program that a remote class model was applied has shown a meaningful difference among groups in cognitive empathy and emotional empathy, and it was found that there was a statistically meaningful difference between the two groups in total scores. Besides, the effect and meaning of adolescents' empathy competence have been verified through the remote empathy reading education and the empirical analysis, and the direction to develop the empathy reading program has been suggested for a solution to settle differences in students' learning due to COVID-19.

  • This study explores what factors influence college students' synchronous online learning satisfaction and what advantages and disadvantages exist when it comes to taking synchronous online learning courses. In-depth interview results suggest that advantages of synchronous online learning are convenience (no need for travel, no limitation for study place), saving money, and no worry for contracting Corona 19. However, disadvantages of synchronous online learning are instability of online learning system, lack of interaction between learners and educators, difficulty of instant communication, low education quality, and unfairness of exams. This study found that college students taking synchronous online course think that synchronous online learning is more appropriate for theory-based course than practice-based courses in that theory-based courses are lecture-oriented while practice-based courses require interactivity between learners and educators. This study provides educators a baseline understanding on how college students think over synchronous online learning and how to enhance students' satisfaction with synchronous online learning.

The participants was 175 nursing students who had enrolled in H university located at Chungcheongbuk-do. The data was collected using a questionnaire which consisted of satisfaction with online classes, learner's efforts, instructor's efforts, interpersonal interaction, and university's supports. The mean score for satisfaction with online classes(scores ranged form 1 to 5) was 3.99. The influencing factors of satisfaction with online classes were intention of using online(p<.001), academic achievement(p=.003), instructor's effort(p=.038), and evaluation of class and management(p=.044), and its explanatory power was 50.2%. The most important things to improve online learning were instructor in problem of operation and server capacity and sound in problem of techniques. Based on the theses results, in order to increase satisfaction with online classes, it is needed to develop strategies to improve intention of using online and academic achievement. • The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated digital transformation across all industries and daily life. Edutech is spreading in the education field, also bringing changes in university education. Non-face-to-face online-only classes at universities have spread after the COVID-19 pandemic physical distancing started. Online-only or real-time online classes showed diverse educational imitations. 'Metaverse' started to attract attention as a learning space and community activity support platform that may solve the limitations of online education and communication. It is time to prepare an introduction strategy for the actual application of education using metaverse. This study, first, by examining previous studies and cases of metaverse application, and second, establishing a metaverse introduction framework based on the technology lifecycle model and the innovation diffusion theory. Finally, we provide an introduction strategy in steps, a specialized introduction plan according to the main users is established and presented as a scenario. We expect that this study will provide the theoretical background of the new technology introduction and the spread of metaverse research. Also, we present an efficient introduction strategy, the basis for a service model, and a practical basis for the university's value-added strategy.
